Awaking from the sound of Kidege and other singing birds, Nuku had almost forgotten where he was until he glanced down at his sleeping mate beside him. Smiling, he nuzzled her gently. "Wake up my love." he said as soft as he could manage with his deep voice.

Nuku would have chuckled at her antics but she was right. It was past time that he should be home. This wouldn't bode well and he had a dark feeling in the pit of his stomach. It was easy for Tatu to return to her pride, as the Kalkaxis Pride were mostly shadow dwelling lions, ones that preferred to rise late and sleep early. However for the Valborrin's it was all early to bed early to rise. Nuku had to hurry and hurry fast. "My love, we must fly and fly fast!" he roared loudly, waking Kidege who already fluttered away, her musical tune turning to that of panic.

Flapping his massive wings, Nuku took off at a run and shortly took to the air, trusting that Tatu would be close behind him.

Nuku flew hurriedly, landing down at the boulder that marked the separation between the two prides quite quickly. Panting softly, he glances back at Tatu as she was just behind him. Kidege circled over head, chirping a sign of warning, but Nuku's ears were pounding to loud to hear her.


Just over the ridge, a very regal, very large, yet very angry lion stood, watching. Waiting.

His heart still pounding quickly, Nuku nuzzled Tatu. "Tomorrow, same time?" he asked her, his chest pounding, but it seemed to disappear as he looked deep into her eyes.

"Oh I highly doubt that, son. I highly doubt that." came the loud, stern, and even deeper voice (deeper than Nuku's) of Krellion, the head of the Valborrin pride, and father to none other than Nukubou. "It pains me to see this son. My own pride and joy, in love with another? Any other lioness out side the pride and I may have accepted her.... but an outsider from the Kalkaxis pride? And their viscious's leaders daughter to boot!" the tall massive pure black Lion roared, his monocle clenched by his brows, his thick white main bustling in the wind. The markings on his limps also pure white, resembling Nuku's.

"Oh my son, where have I gone wrong? Was I too harsh on you?" came the pleeding cries of Arezzah, Nuku's mother. A lithe and small pink lioness, matching the pink in Nuku's fur, black and white anklets jingling around each of her paws, tail, and a few about her neck. Her long black hair, tied back in a messy type bun, bangs spilling out of her eyes and the sides of her face.

"Hush now, Arezzah. It is not we who went wrong. It is him."

"Mother.... Father...... I....." was all Nuku could muster to say.

Kidege's chirps had subsided as she took shelter in a near by tree, watching anxiously.

Not only had he gotten himself into trouble, he had gotten Tatu into trouble. Nukubou could care less about himself, but his mate? His love... he couldn't bare to see her in trouble. Doing what his gut told him to do, he turned to face Destryix. "Please, spare her. These meetings were of my own doing, as I could not bare to live without her. I beg of you both, aim your punishments at me, but leave Tatu alone." he begged, looking from her mother to his own parents.

Krellion stepped forward. He hated the sight of Destryix, and having her so close when their prides were enemies was unnerving, but he had to uphold his composure. His very image dependent upon it. "How noble of you, my son. An action a father could be proud of, however not under these circumstances. Your punishment shall be great, have no fear of that." he said, really dreading what he had to do next.

Arezzah blinked at her mate. "What are you going to do Krellion?"

"I have no choice.... but to ban him from our pride." he said, his eyes never faultering.

Arezzah let out a cry of protest but was silenced.

"It must be done! From this moment on, you are no longer my son." his tail flicked as he gave one last warning glance at the remaining lions and took his mate and search party back with him.

Nuku's heart felt as if it had been stabbed in two. He glanced at Tatu and at her mother, his eyes begging she listen to his pleading.

Nuku's heart sank even further as not only was he banished, but his love as well. He hardly had the words as she ran after her mother, his eyes welled with tears that sparkled in his glasses. "Tatu.... I..." he began, but the words formed a lump in his throat. He moved gently to nuzzle her, but not sure if she wanted his embrace after what had just happened. Even he was still stunned.

Nuku was glad that Tatu returned his embrace, hugging her deeply as he nuzzled her. "I'm sorry, its my fault this has happened to us.... but... but maybe there is good from it?" he said, pulling away to stare into her eyes. "Tatu... we can live together now with out worry. You and me. Nothing to separate us." he said, trying to find the joy in this, and his heart nearly skipped a beat at the thought of finally being able to be with his love without restrictions. "We can live at Ashiki Cove... what do you say?"

Nuku couldn't help but feel massively better himself. Smiling, he laughed as he turned his head and called over his shoulder. "Kidege? Come my little friend. You can come out now." he said gently, though his voice was still quite deep.

Kidege flew from the trees, followed by a ton of other birds, with her at the lead. Her musical chirp had resumed filling the night sky... which was now turning into morning.

Turning back to Tatu, he gently nuzzled her with his maw. "My darling, My love, Amri is right there." he said with a chuckle and pointed with his nose at the mouse. "Come, lets head to the cove. We can start our day a new tomorrow... a life of just me and you." he said again, growing to the idea quickly. And with that, he spread his wings, ready for her to take after him.
