I don't know why, but something(I haven't taken the time to figure out what) is not letting me close my closet or bedroom door.
I can sometimes, but only after a few hours. I went into my closet for the first time in a year and a half, looking for my hair stuff, but I couldn't close it.
I can't sleep with the door open, and it irks the hell out of me. I spent twenty minutes throwing my whole weight against the door, but it wouldn't close. I finally got fed up and yelled "I hate you" to vent a bit, and the door moved.
I've woken up at night to find both doors open, and I can only close my bedroom door. It's like I'm allowed to have power over the openness of every door in the house except my closet door.
The whole first year I lived here(September 3rd, 2006 - 2007), I wasn't 'allowed' to shut my closet door, and unles I piled something in front of the door, I couldn't keep it shut.
I know that nothing is blocking the door, because I've checked. There's plenty of room for the door to close unobstructed.
And a lot of the time I'll wake up in the middle of the night becaue I get very cold, and see that the door is opened.

well i really dont know wat to telyou. obviously your room has an attraction fro the spirit or else it wouldnt let you close any door anywhere in your house. my suggestion is tht u tell it to stop interfering wth your life and see wat happens there. tell it this is your room and to leave things the way they are. tell it that you are the one in charge of your room and your closet and tht it has no power to stop tht.

Have you checked to make sure that the door frame hasn't swollen due to humidity or the like? This can happen if you live in a humid environment. The door frame could also be offset, causing the door not to close properly or to come open after it has been closed. It could also be that there's something wrong with the latch on the door.
You should completely inspect all physical aspects of the door(s) if you haven't already before resorting to spiritual explanations.

i think you should command it to stop. im not sure if you should threaten to get rid of it or not. some spirits will do what you say if you threaten them while others just get really pissed then try to show off.
but at least try commanding it to stop, like how you would command a dog in a low tone. you have to believe you have power over this thing. alot of times if a spirit can sense you do not feel in control of the situation they will just ignore you

Well it's a pretty new door. It was replaced just a little while before we moved here.
I'll try telling it to stop in the morning.
Any idea why it might like my room?

could be anything, an item in your room, the fact that you sleep in there, the energy in the room, or it may just like how the light comes in through the windows.
even if its a new door it can get stuck, some parts of the floor can even be raised. is it only a problem of keeping it shut or do you also have a problem shutting the door?

Just shutting it.
and like I said earlier, it shuts easily sometimes.
My whole room was redone before we moved here.
Is there any other problems with my door that I could look for?

RosesFallingLikeRain Just shutting it. and like I said earlier, it shuts easily sometimes. My whole room was redone before we moved here. Is there any other problems with my door that I could look for? Have you ever asked anyone else to shut the door for you, just to see what will happen? You could try that and see if it's just something that happens to you or not.

the next time that your door won't close say in a stern and maybe slightly forcefull voice, "Let me close this door." If it still wont close say, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to stop blocking me from closing this door and I want you to keep it closed." If it doesn't work I'm not sure what to tell you. Get holy water, a cross, I don't know.

Erm, I don't think that would work.
I'm not religious.
I wasn't able to try commanding it to stop, as I had a family emergency. I won't be back until New Years.
I'll try it when I get back.

Well, if it is a spirit of some sort, it doesn't seem malevolent. Just try talking with it. Be nice, but stern, and explain why you want the door closed... but don't be too forceful, or maybe it will KEEP the door closed! ^_^
If it works out, maybe you'll have a new friend... ^_^
