It seems a new kind of monster has appeared near Durem. A reward has been offered to the one who kills the beast.

((OOC: Buhh... Somehow, I lost the PM I sent to Ciph, so I don't remember exactly what I was planning (bad memory YAY!) Don't worry, I'll wing it just fine. wink ))
A monster in Durem.
There was no doubt about it. Three people had been attacked already. Two of them had managed to get away with a few scratches. One of them had been barely alive. But it didn't make sense.
How had it entered the city? Why had it entered the city? Why had it attacked people, and why had it allowed them to get away when it could have killed them? The whole situation didn't make any kind of sense at all. But then again, the whole monsters-situation didn't make sense. Not that there was any use thinking about it. If you've got a pest problem, you call the exterminator. If the pest was a murdering monster, you call the Clans. In a way, it was like fighting fire with fire. The only difference was that you didn't have to get burned yourself.
The Sky Clan would come. They would be informed about the monster, and where it had been seen last. They would hunt it down, kill it, and get paid. It didn't matter what the thing was, what it was doing, or why it was doing it. The problem would be solved before anyone would have time to wonder about it. Not that anyone would care.
At least, Alden didn't. It was his task to direct the Clan to it's target. They weren't supposed to show up for another fifteen minutes. He hoped they'd show up early. He'd even be satisfied if they showed up in time. As long as they didn't show up late. He had better ways to waste his time than to wait for them.

Walking into Durem, Sylphia was once again stuck by the contrast it presented to the other two cities. While both Barton and Gambino seemed full of light and color, Durem appeared much more somber. It wasn't Sylphia's favorite city, but that was mostly because she wasn't as free to relax on its rooftops.
"Of all the cities for a monster to come near, it seems ironic that it was this one. The people here like everything so dull, no magic even. What an odd place."
Glancing at a the notice about the mission, Sylphia looked around for the place where her clan was supposed to meet someone who would tell them more. She hoped they would be able to tell her alot about this monster, but doubted that that was the case.

Kritos had just arrived in Du'urem. As soon as he passed the gate he dropped his cigarette on the ground and stamped it out. He took his sunglasses off and stuffed them securely into his coat pocket. He had spotted his Clan Captain. The infamous Sylphia. He walked up towards her and tapped her on the shoulder. She immediatley swung around.
"Do you have any idea where the others are? We should neutralize this threat before something happens..." His voice trailed off.
Kritos tried to think of what the monster may look like. He was thinking it might not be that big. Seeing as how only 3 people had been attacked. Kritos made a sketch in his mind. Whatever it was, he knew it wasn't gonna be easy. OOC:(Sorry if that looks a little short. Using size 9 font does make it shorter than it really is.)

"Ah, Kritos." Sylphia glanced around before answering his question. "I don't happen to see anyone else, however that doesn't mean they won't arrive. There's a bit of time yet before we are to meet with... whoever it is we are meeting." She glanced at the piece of paper again, hoping that it wasn't all the information there was to have.
"Well, we can wait here a few moments. If no one else happens to appear, then I suppose we will just have to do our best. It wouldn't do to accept such an appeal and then not show up. Besides, who else is going to free these people from having to live with the fear of this monster? I'm sure all the other clans have their own matters to attend to, therefore it falls to us to do all that we can. Of course I don't have to be telling you all this, you're allready here..."

((OOC: In case you were wondering, I put part of this post up earlier with a "NEEDS TO BE EDITED" tag at the end. That was because I suddenly needed to go while I was still typing, and in stead of taking the time to C&P the text into notepad and saving it I just hit "Submit". It's properly edited now. ))
"Yo."
Alden had recognised the Sky Clan's leader. While Sylphia and Kritos were talking, he had casually walked up to them.
"You're right on time. I like that. You can call me Alden, I'm with the GSF. I'm supposed to give you what information we've got on the beast."
Alden looked at the Clanners. He knew of Sylphia of course, the leader. He didn't know the other one, but it didn't matter. Alden only needed to tell them what they needed to know. What mattered more is that there were only two of them. He didn't know how powerful they were, but it just didn't seem like a good idea to take on a monster with only two people. But, he figured, they probably know what they're doing.
"Unfortunately, what we know isn't much. All we have is a few sketchy eyewitness reports." Alden shrugged "And you can imagine how reliable a witness is when he's scared half to death. Still, from comparing the different reports we've managed to come up with a bit of a description.
The beast is quite large, bigger than a man. It has many legs, like a spider, and moves very fast. It's colour is dark, probably brown or red. It has attacked three people so far, all in the Northern area of Durem. We haven't questioned anyone about this other than the victims and the few people who reported at the station, and because we're short on manpower we also haven't investigated the matter properly. If you'd ask me, your best bet is to go to the site of the last attack and ask around there. People here are mostly of the law-abiding kind, so they'll probably help you if they can. If you manage to find the monster and slay it, ask for me at the Durem police and I'll have your reward ready. Any questions?"

"Yes," Decira said to Alden, walking up behind the group. "What kind of wounds did the victims have? Just bites and scratches, I am assuming. I would just rather not run into this odd monster and be surprised if it suddenly starts shooting venom at us or something disgusting like that." The girl's voice was tinged with irritation, almost as if she'd just been woken up from a nice nap to do work. Her cross demeanor, however, resulted from the city of Durem itself. Why were things always happening in Durem? She hated to the city ever since she'd left it almost a decade earlier. "I apologize for not being her at the same time as my comrades," she said cooly, one of her elegant hands resting gracefully on her hip. She looked at Sylphia and Kritos in turn, nodding to them before tossing her long blonde hair behind her and glancing around the dark town.

"Like I said" Alden replied, turning to Decira "We don't know a lot about it. Most of the wounds seemed like ordinary scratches and bruises. Not a trace of venom or anything like that. It's probably pretty strong though. One of the victims was knocked around pretty badly, and wouldn't have survived if he hadn't been taken to a hospital.
That's the strange thing. It seems to randomly attack people in the city, but so far it's victims have all managed to survive. We don't know if something stopped it from killing every time, or if it doesn't want to kill it's victims. There's no doubt that it's dangerous, though."

Kritos turned to Sylphia and said. "This sounds interesting. I am wondering at this moment how intelligent this monster is. If its as smart as a human it will more than likely attack somewhere else in Du'urem because it will know we will be waiting for it. Now if it isn't as smart it will return to the sameplace for more than likely the same reason. Think about it. Was it trying to rob the people? Terrorize them for kicks? Or even try to feed?"
This brought up many questions in his head. Is it really that strong? He wondered. Something told him that he should be worried and to be more cautious.
"I have an idea." Kritos said and continued. "Why don't we have everyone in a different part of town and if we spot the monster we will send a warning signal. Something like a flare. Then we can all gang up and defeat this menace." He stopped there and waited for them to take this information in.

Sylphia considered this for a moment. "It is an idea, however I'm a bit uneasy about anything that splits us too far apart. It might be better if we went to the site of the last attack and started there." Turning to Aiden she adressed her next words to him. "Question, have you found any way to track this monster, or have you not tried? Oh, and will you be taking us to the last attack site, or should we find our own way there?"

"We haven't had the time to investigate the situation in detail. We've done a quick search of the sites, but haven't found any tracks. As you may know, the GSF is a relatively small organisation, and the regular police force is equipped nor trained to deal with something like this. We're fighting against something we don't know, and we haven't got the manpower to do all we should do. We're doing all we can, but three non-fatal attacks don't give a case high priority these days."
Alden looked at Sylphia. "That is the situation. I don't think I need to explain the consequences of this... and it's none of your business anyway. Your business is to find that monster and kill it. I can take you to the place where it was last seen, but from there on you're on your own. I've got other things to do today."
He turned around and started walking. "Follow me. It's not very far from here."

Sylphia nodded as Alden finished speaking. She gestured for the other clan members to follow and herself followed Alden. Everything so far was basicly as she had expected. They weren't going to be getting support, and there just wasn't much information to go around. Since it was apparently both large and fast, they would have to be carefull when fighting it.

Kritos followed Sylphia. He didn't know what was gonna happen when fighting the monster but he knew it would take them all to take it down. Obviously it must have been silent or damn near invisible to get through this town without getting seen. Kritos decided he would wait until he got to the site of the attack to investigate.

Alden quickly led them through Durem's streets and alleys. It was obvious he knew his way around the city very well, and he didn't stop once to check his route or to see if the clanners had managed to keep up with him. Suddenly, in one of the darker back alleys of Durem (for even Durem had a few dark alleys), he stopped and turned to face Sylphia. "This is the place. We found the last victim right here." he said, pointing to a spot on the ground "I will leave you now. Report back at the Durem police station when you're done. Good luck." Without waiting for a reply, he ran off in the same direction they had come from.
At first glance, the alley looked like any normal alley. The spot Alden had pointed out was darker than the rest of the ground. Dried blood still stained the pavement there. Some of the houses near the place were slightly damaged, but it was unclear whether that was caused by the monster attack, or if it had been that way before. There were no people to be seen outside, but surely there would be people living in the houses. Except for the blood stains, nothing seemed to prove a large monster had ever been here.
