Idili'su wasn't one for exploring. No, he preferred to stay holed up in whatever quiet, secluded, secretive place he could find, and then stay there. He had a place like that, too. He might even consider it "home." But it wasn't completely his home, not yet...There was something wrong with it. Something big-jawed, loud, and smothering.
Gogo.
The lion groaned at the mere thought of her name. His nose wrinkled in frustration, eyes squinting shut and claws clutching the earth as he trekked across the land. No, he wasn't a wanderer, not at all. But when that round creature got to be too much to take, he wouldn't stick around--he'd leave. But he couldn't keep living like that...surely there had to be some way to get rid of her. But who was he kidding? She had been around him since he was just past cubhood...she wasn't going to be leaving any time soon. But what, then, what could he do to ease the burden of her existence?! If only he could think of something...
The white lion flopped down on the grass, dust whirling up around him as he landed. He grumbled to himself as he watched his surroundings, fearing--no, daring Gogo to somehow show up in front of him. He continued that expectation for several moments until the hairs stood up on his back and he became quite paranoid...
Takuma had wandered again - his current dwellings were near the Kusini'mwezi lands, where Kari was. But she was still stuck in them, still unable to travel and see the beautiful world with him. It would be an understatement to say he was frustrated - Taku didn't know what to do with himself. He wanted to spend time with Kari, but at the same time he wanted to explore the world. Despite growing up in the same place, staying in one place now for too long made him feel nauseous. He just wanted to get out there and see things! See everything.
There was so much to see, so many beautiful places to explore. He'd never have the chance to see them all if he was stuck in the same place. But he loved Kari...it was such a big word, he knew that now, but he did. He loved her dearly, and didn't want to leave her behind. So he'd wait. He'd wait until she was allowed to leave, and they could travel the world together.
But that didn't mean he couldn't, and wouldn't wander a little. He knew she was safe in the pride today, safe with her family. He'd agreed to meet her at sunset, but that was a long time away. And so, instead Takuma spent his time wandering, not too far, but far enough away that it was new sights. So technically, he was still exploring.
Being quite the scientific young adult, Idili'su knew many things the average mammal did not. But one question came to him so suddenly during a mere instant--a question he had no answer for.
Was it possible for a heart to explode from shock?
Seeing a rather brawny-looking male lion stroll right out in front of him made Idili'su jump off the ground with a rather pathetic-sounding inhale, his heart leaping to his throat so profoundly that he really did wonder if it was going to rupture. How fascinating that would be, he mused, but NO, he wasn't going to DIE right now.
"GOOD...GRIEF!" he gasped, grappling with his composure once he saw that the brown creature wasn't Gog--err, wasn't there to attack him. He took in a deep breath and tousled his mane once, red hairs falling into place neatly. He cleared his throat, breaths still pumping in and out through his nose rather quickly.
"Excuthe me," he said politely. "I...thought you were thomeone elthe..." And then he proceeded to stand still rather awkwardly, staring at the male.

There was a thud, and Taku turned his head as he heard a loud gasp, eyebrows furrowing as he spotted the lion not too far away. Doing...well, he wasn't actually sure what. He seemed...shocked? Surprised? By what? Taku glanced around, checking that there weren't any big, brauny lions about to attack him, or some drop-dead gorgeous lionness that looked like she needed some warming up. Nothing. Nada. Zip. So what on earth was the lion so surprised by? Heck, he almost looked scared.
The lion made to move towards him, figuring he should check if the stranger was alright. Takuma didn't like getting into trouble, which he seemed to a lot, but whether or not it might be a stupid idea, he wouldn't hesitate to help someone in need. Even if they seemed slightly...retarded. Was he being harsh? The stranger cleared his throat, and Taku stopped where he was, at decent distance, tilting his head to the left expectantly. Clearing throats usually meant words, yes? Or maybe he was getting ready to attack, or to eat him, or...
"...Oh."
Someone else? But that wasn't what he'd said...shrugging it off, not sure whether he should leave now or strike up a conversation, Taku blinked, watching Idu carefully, "...Well, are you alright?"

Of all the presumptuous, bratty questions to ask...PFF...This male knew no manners. He was asking if Idili'su was alright? Of COURSE he was alright! He wasn't...well, wasn't scared or anything. And he clearly hadn't been hurt. Of all the things to ask...Why didn't the empty-headed, muscular fool wander off somewhere far, far away?
Needless to say, Idili'su didn't say any of his low-self-esteem-driven thoughts backed by Gogo-Paranoia out loud. He was way too smart to do that.
So he raised his chin a bit, haughtiness coming off rather strongly. He had hoped this gesture made him look smart compared to the brash-looking brute, but perhaps it made him look cocky more than anything else--a dangerous thing to appear, considering the white lion was trying his cowardly best to stay out of trouble. Oh, what he wouldn't give to be back next to his heaping pile of random ingredients and smelly, bubbling pools of concoctions...
"I'm quite well," Idili'su said levelly, his eyes unblinking. "Are you...?" he ventured, only pondering afterwords if that had been the proper question to ask.

Takuma sized up the other lion, casting his crystal-blue eyes over him. He was younger, Taku was sure of that. Not by much, but he was. Slightly smaller, and less stocky than Taku. Heck, Takuma's mane was fluffiest, too. He suddenly became aware of how obvious it was that he, Takuma, was far better than the strange lion before him. Maybe he should pity him...wait, wasn't this what Amanzi would call being big-headed? Arrogant? He kinda liked it, though.
Tilted chin? Oh, so he was cocky, was he? Just how good did this lion think he was? Takuma was obviously bigger, and therefore beter, in every way. Hey, he'd come out of a duel with a Firekin. ...It didn't matter that it had been a female, or that it had been a draw. He'd survived. That was an achievement in itself, right?
Quite well?
Who the hell said 'quite well'!? 'Cool', 'alright', 'okay', 'fine', yeah, perhaps. But 'quite well'? He sounded like a Grandma. Taku was liking the stranger less and less as time wore on, "I'm alright, thanks..."
He didn't really want the conversation to continue. He had better things to be doing.

The seemingly polite reply the brown lion had given Idili'su went completely unnoticed, for the white lion was far too caught up in the up-and-down he had just been given.
Jaw agape in a twisted look of surprise and disgust, Idili'su kept wondering over and over, how dare he? Did this incompetent, bulky fool think he was better than the great scientist, Idili'su? There was no reason to doubt he was better, no, none at all. (The young adult was, however, quite self-conscious about himself at times, but he was oftentimes unaware of that.) But the brown male's attitude was to be expected. He was undoubtedly stupid, after all. Nothing that looked like him could ever be on the same level as Idili'su...
Eyes narrowing and mouth closing, the male shook a piece of red bangs from his eyes.
"Well, that'th good to hear..." he said, more quietly than his first reply, but perhaps more venomous.
"...flashy brute..." he whispered under his breath. But perhaps that hadn't been the smartest choice.

Ugh, great, he'd run into a retarded lion. Why else would it be standing there with it's jaw wide open like that? Sighing loudly, and rather patiently tapping a paw, Taku gazed down at the male boredly. He couldn't be bothered with this. He had better things to be doing with his time. He'd agreed to meet up with Amanzi for the pair to go hunting - take his mind off of Kari.
What was with his reply? Was he being rude or something? Taku's eyebrows furrowed in mind confusion. Or at least it was confusion, until he caught wind of the word 'brute'. Muscles in his face relaxed, Takuma...surprised. This weedy little pathetic lion was daring to...who did he think he was!?
"Excuse me?" Taku growled, voice thick and menacing as he straightened himself up to his full height, trying to seem as intimidating as possible. Which wasn't too hard, with his size, "Repeat that, weed."

Uh-oh...
...
No, what was he saying that for? This was...fixable. It wasn't as though he had done any great damage to himself, or threatened himself too greatly. Although...
...The lion was quite large...
Then again, he was all brawn and no brain. As Idili'su figured, it was he who had the upper-paw. And he intended for things to stay in his favor. Of course, if things got a little...carried away, he would always, uh...Run?
His blue eyes relaxed and his brows rose up to his bangs. "Ohh, I'm thorry, I didn't realize your vocabulary wath quite tho limited." he cleared his throat, not shrinking beneath the full height of the male, but rather bringing himself up to what could almost (but not quite) be considered the same level.
"I thaid...Flashy...BRUTE. Would you like me to explain what thothe wordth mean?" he chided, continuing down a rather dangerous road that he, after staring at the other male for a few more moments, decided he no longer wanted to travel.
...Yeah, he pretty much needed to get out of there quickly.

Taku fixed his eyes on Idi's - it was strange. His eyes were so blue, almost a heavenly shade. Yet the lion had such a shortfuse, always getting angry. As demonstrated now. His upper lip curled upwards, revealing his sharp, pointed teeth, the lion growling softly again. Someone needed to teach this kid when not to pick fights. The main one being when your opponent was clearly bigger than you. Moron.
Wait wait wait - he was continuing with the insults? His words were weird, and Taku couldn't help but recoil a little in disgust at the strange accent or lisp or whatever the lion had. But still - he stood tall, not caring that now, at full height, the stranger was almost as tall as him. He wasn't quite, and that was all that mattered in Takuma's mind. He was taller, he was stockier, he was just better in every single way. It was a fact.
Before Idiili had even had the chance to finish the word 'Brute', Taku had leapt, roaring as he did so with claws outstretched, eager to rip through flesh.

The sudden turn of events sent Idili'su's head spinning, that loud roar making the hair shoot up along his spine. He could hardly believe that the other male was actually attacking him! He had never been attacked before! But this was hardly a thrilling experience. All Idili'su wanted to do was run away before he got hurt. He was far too unused to pain to be torn to shreds by such a large, thick-headed lion.
The other male's claws glinted in the sun, the flickering glares lighting up Idili'su's own blue eyes and making him terrified. Things seemed to happen slowly, but in truth, it was the opposite.
It certainly was a fact that the other male was larger, so therefore it was a fact that Idili'su was smaller. So then, it is only natural to assume that smaller things are more agile--quicker to run, and more successful in doing so. Idili'su knew that better than anyone. He was a scientist, after all. He knew the ways things worked. He also knew that that male was going to rip his face off if he didn't run right away.
So he did. black claws stabbing into earth like pole-vaults, the white lion bolted away, too smothered in adrenaline to even let out a cry. He felt something like a cool breath on his rump as he bolted away, wondering what on earth it could've been. It wasn't too long after running that pain caught up with him, and he realized his backside had been grazed. Deep or shallow, it didn't matter. He just needed to get the HELL out of there. That was the LAST TIME he ever ran off away from his happy hiding place.
Gods damn that stupid, big-headed, thick-boned, girl-marked, poofy-maned son-of-a stupid brute!

Taku could her the blood pounding through his ears, his heartbeat in his chest. He could taste the blood in his mouth, so ready for it. He wanted it. He hadn't eaten for a while, and he'd never tried lion - maybe it was nice? Feeling claws hit flesh, he began to grin, before it faded into surprise as his claws were torn from the flesh, the stranger having turned a fled. Agile little bugger! Taku landed, large body making a thud on the ground as his weight hit it hard.
Hind legs landed, before pumping again, sending him flying off after Isili'su. But after a few leaps it became clear the lion's large size did have a disadvantage - speed. He slowed with a huff, claws kneading the ground softly in frustration at having lost his kill. Stupid little brat - he'd looked terrified. Good. Takuma hoped he'd learnt a lesson.
But now the blue-eyed male was in a foul mood, lashing out at a rock with a snarl as he began to march back in the direction he'd come from. Amanzi would calm him down - she always did. But until then, I certainly hope he doesn't run into anyone...
