I know you all are fantastically creative so lets have a writing contest.
What I would like for this contest is the story of the Princess and the Pea. You can not use the orriginal you must come up with your own version of the same story.
300-word limit, can it be done? Lets find out.The entry fee will be 100 gold donated to me the guild Mule.
When you donate the 100 gold entrance fee I will place your name here as a participant.We need some Judges.
Please if you wish to judge this contest you may not enter the contest.

The rain was pooring and the poor young woman was caught out in it.
Calla's carraige and her horses had gone off the road. Her father was going to be so worried about her, but it couldn't be helped. She had grown up on a farm with her adopted parents. They had taken her in after the long war between the two kingdoms. Calla had been orphaned and the kindly old man and his wife had taken her in. She was thinking of how warm and cosy the fire would be on thier hearth when she had come upon the Royal Palace, perhaps they would let her take shelter for the night. She knocked upon the door. A servant answered the door.
Apparently thier was some sort of ball going on, and several young women dressed in the most beautiful ball gowns were dancing and having a good time.
The servant seeing that she was a beautiful young woman who had been caught in the rain, he let her in. Thinking she was one of the guests just arriving late.
She was offered food and drink, and had a wonderful time. Though she was a bit self consious about her appearance she was enchanted with the ball.
Midnight came and a harold came in to anounce that it was time for the guests to retire. He showed the young women to a Magnificinet Room filled with Beds, all with onehundered matresses piled on top of each other. Each young woman changed into night gowns that was provided by the Royal Queen.
Calla dressed quickly and climbed to the top of her hundred matress bed, she noticed that all of the other girls were doing the same. Thier must have been 50 young women in all.
All night she tossed and turned and just couldn't fall asleep, thier was a lump under her matress and it made her misrable, but she was to tired to try and find it under all the matresses.
The next morning a herald came and announced that they all would be dinning with the King and Queen. The young women huridly got dressed and went into the large dinning room where breakfast was being served.
The Queen was approching each young girl, and quietly talking with them, she seemed to look a bit troubled. It was now Calla's turn, and she was worried because she wasn't really a guest. The Queen came and sat down next to her.
"Morning, child. How did you sleep." she asked pleasantly.
Calla wasn't sure how to respond, her parents had always taught her to answer truthfully so she took a deep breath.
"Well your majesty, I don't mean to be rude, but my bed was filled with lumps, and I couldn't sleep well at all. In fact I'm sure that one of the lumps in the bed has bruesed me." she said sadly not wanting to offend the Queen, but knowing she needed to be truthful in all she said.
The Queen beamed and stood up. "Come with me imidiately." the Queen said and took Calla by the hand. She took her to where her husband sat.
"My husband out of all of these young women, this is the only girl who is a true princess, she is the only one who did not sleep well." Then she turned to the girl and grined. "You see I placed one pea in each bed under all the matresses. Only a true princess would be able to feel it." she smiled.
Calla was shocked and stuned. "But thats not possible, I'm just a farm girl." she said sadly.
The Queen smiled, "You may have been raised that way, but your a princess, and my son needs a wife. I will send for your family at once." the Queen said. And then sent all the other girls home, and began to make arrangements for a royal wedding. When Calla's parents arrived they were relived that she was fine and excited about the betrothal.
Calla and the Prince were introduced and fell in love.
They lived happily ever after.

i wasn't really a fairy-tale kid when I was young.

brightstaro The prince father would place a pea under the mattress and if the princess could not sleep then she would have the sensitivity to marry his son. The king him self thought this was rather odd but why not so off they went. During the journey the prince learn to like and even love the princess and want to marry her so on the night she was to sleep in the big old bed he put a large rock under the matters. Rock?!?! very amusing! i guess he really wanted to marry her. i like humour. well done. Where's the other entry??

There once were two sisters
Belonging to the royal family
One was of great beauty,
while the other was quite ugly.
They lived with their father,'
who was a kind king
and did not think of such things
as looks and belongings.
His daughters were gentle,
his daughters were kind.
His beautiful daughter was married in no time.
But the ugly one was left at home.
Alone.
She was just to ugly.
"How can she be a princess?"
Said the men of the court.
"With her lazy eye, bunyans, and warts?!"
But the kind king knew better.
He would prove her best.
With a test.
"A pea!" He said,
"A pea, that's it!"
"I'll put it under her bed!"
"Everyone knows that a princess,
With warts or not,
has fair and sensitive skin
which could not be distressed
by any horrid, unfit mattress."
So he snuck to her room.
To the Princess,
Spoke not a word.
He slipped it under her bed
(Many thought the plan was absurd.)
The court decided to humor him.
Though their gossip was clear.
"NO body could feel a pea,
Under their mattress!"
"Even if they are a princess!"
That night the princess fell to her bed.
She tossed and turned,
fluffed her pillow and scratched her head.
Now she usually slept like a log,
(And usually looked like one too.)
But tonight her slumber was fitful,
and there was nothing she could do.
The next morning, in the court,
She took up to her father.
"Dear King,"
She said
"Apologies for my poor attire,
"and late attendence...
"but...
"I did not sleep well last night."
"Oh dear," spoke the king,
His bushy eyebrows furrowed.
"Why not? My daughter?"
"Well..." She spoke
"My bed felt harder.
"Like there was a rock, beneath the sheets."
"Or something like it."
"I had searched, but could not find it."
"This is why I didn't sleep well."
The court grew silent
and the king smiled.
He knew he had proven
that her looks were not important.
She was still a princess
In more ways then one.
So the men gave her a try,
they dated her and found
that she was quite nice.
(But many of them could not get over her beastly sight.)
Until one man,
as kind as the King
came forward;
A gentle being.
He took her hand
and asked her father.
He said yes...
And they all lived happily ever after.
(402 words, from what I counted. -_-'')

Liway So, when am I supposed to decide? after or before christmas? I don't think anyone else is going to join, so go ahead and announce the winner. Then I'll give them the pillow plush. Thier might be a slight delay between the announcment and the getting of the prise for the simple fact that I do this at night at my work. Thank you Liway for being the judge! Thank you contestants for your wonderful stories I love them all. I am so glad that Liway is doing the judgeing, because I don't know if I could decide who should win. Good luck my friends.
