((Akua owned by Hei_Guisse))

It felt good to be wandering, even slowly. The sandy lion paused a moment to listen and feel, taking in his strange surroundings. He'd traveled the thin strip of land between two rather large prides and had come out to realize he'd entered quite a large strech of unclamed lands. The air was hot and dry as he walked, the sun bright in the sky as usual.

Akua continued further over the sandy, rocky terrain, watching his step as well as he could.

Three sets of wings stood out against the blue sky as the Goddess of Crafting soared like a hawk, enjoying the pull of working muscles. Well, she usually enjoyed that and practiced it often, but the work of wing muscles was far different, and not used nearly as often. Catching a bit of wind, she adjusted her many feathers with a fine precision, as methodical as the machines she often made, and as perfect in her motions. Or so she liked to think.

Casting green eyes down, Sanaa looked for the sparkle of water, feeling a need for a soothing drink. Sure, she didn't need food or water, but the feel of the liquid down her throat was a pleasure on a dry day.

Akua paused, head cocking slightly to the side, one ear perking up through the thick fur of his mane. He knew he'd heard the sound of water running, smelt the dampness but... there was another sound. Glancing skyward was a futile act, all he saw was blue with fuzzy sploches of white intermitantly throughout. He furrowed his brow... perhaps some kind of bird?

He gave a small roll of his shoulders in a shrug, heading towards where heard heard the gurgle of water over rocks. It was big... a river. He frowned a little bit at that, swimming wasn't his most favorite mode of transportaion. Ah well, he could at least enjoy the cool comfort by laying in the shallows for at least a little while. That was...

He stopped, staying as still as possible as he focused on listening. For gators, for snakes, for -anything-. He'd be a damn fool to wade right in only to get trompled by some angry hippo.

A shadow far larger than any mortal line swept over the grass below the goddess as she flew towards the river she had spotted, the spot of darkness as graceful as her flight was, or even more so. Feeling bold and a little playful, something Sanaa rarely allowed herself to indulge, she angled herself to come in on a shallow decline, her wings holding her steady as her paws brushed the top of the running water. She actually laughed as she felt it jump and lick at her like a hungry, but friendly, wild dog, rumbling its content below her. Three of her limbs felt the wetness, but one did not... the artificial limb that took the place of her foreleg merely gleamed gold in the sun, catching reflections off the water.

Few people know what the limb was, or the story behind it. Sanaa had worn it for longer than mortals recalled, and only the gods had seen her when all her limbs were real.

The soft burble of water was interupted by a sudden splash and he would have at first thought it was a fish or some other river creature until he heard the clear laughter.

The lion's eyes widened as he saw the large figure grazing over the water. Too large to be any bird, and he could make out four legs. He stood at the edge of the water, squinting desperatly towards the strange figure to try and understand what it was he was seeing. To be honest he was more than a little bit afraid of what could possibly be -flying- over the water like that.

A smile graced the female's face as she banked lazily and let herself drift down to the dirt bank of the river, startling the birds there into noisy flight. She batted at them in annoyance as they shrieked and beat their wings to flee. Stupid things... they should know better. They'd be less than a mouthful for the goddess, let alone a meal...

She shook herself all over to the tinkle of a hundred different trinkets hanging all over her body, shaking off that thought before it had a chance to make her grumpy again. It was time to relax a little and let the stress of having a randy male god in her den fade for a little bit. Not that she dislike Palahala or wanted him gone before she was sure she was with cubs, but... he was large, young, and full of those weird hormones that living things had. He got in the way and made a bother of himself... thus her little expedition to find raw materials today.

The creature smelt of strange things. The earth and soot, fire and heat and of metal. Amongst all of the strange scents there was also that of lion.

This was a lion?

And then the fragmented memories of his childhood floated to the surface of his mind. Stories of great lions with wings and strange skills that made them worthy of the title 'God'. A feeling of amazement swept through Akua, and he found himself padding slowly forward despite the fact that if this was a God, or a Goddess rather because he could tell now she was female, she could swat him away as easily as he might swipe at an annoying bug.

He stopped a few good paces away from her, she hadn't noticed him yet and he didn't really want to impose himself on her. Instead he sweapt his faded gaze over what he could see. It seemed like there were a thousand points of glittering light that came off of her, and the sound of metal clinking against itself.

Finally he spoke up, feeling rather clumsy with his plain and astonished. "Hello."

Sanaa started at the voice coming from nowhere, her head jerking up as she sheepishly turned to face the lion that had approached her. Well, what did she expect? Not paying attention, flaunting her godly form... she was bound to attract attention, even she thought it more for what she wore than for herself. After all, she wore many lovely things made with fine skill... that must have been what caught this male's eye.

"Greetings and good day, Mortal." She said, her voice a touch deeper than a regular female's, and rougher. Few mortals could match a god in size, and few gods could match Sanaa. She matched her strength, really, and only Ukali could best her there. "What can I do for you?" Sanaa said, hoping to be polite. She was getting used to this informal thing with mortals, atleast she hoped.

Akua simply...gaped for a few moments. When he found his wits he sat down, tail curling around his haunches. "Nothing... nothing." There wasn't any doubt in his mind anymore. Wings, and such an incredible size. "You're a Goddess."

He stared a little longer before giving his head a little shake, realizing what he was doing and where he was before he spoke up, finally seeming to be a little free from being struck mostly speechless. "I just thought. Well. You were stories, maybe. Or that I'd never meet you." He wanted to move closer, the curiosity of what a Goddess must really look like almost getting the better of him.

Finally he managed to slip free from the stun he'd been in. He bowed deeply, even gracefully. "It is an honor to meet you."
