Contained within this tome are a multitude of entries regarding important subjects in the world of Darkened Horizons. The Player's Compendium can be considered a survivalist's guide to the strange and unfamiliar as well as a reference for getting a deeper look at the history behind important people and places.
The pages of the Player's Compendium may be blank starting out, but as you encounter different things over the course of the story they will slowly fill with descriptions of different flora and fauna, places of interest, important non-player characters, and specific items that the players have seen or met on their journey.
For your own safety please note that the magic of the Compendium causes entries to appear in the tome after they have been encountered by the players. Whether something is safe to eat or whether it will try to eat you might not be known until after a critical moment has passed, so try to keep your wits about you and not rely too heavily on the information in the Player's Compendium.
