i understand and agree with your points, but i do not think that the reservation me and my fellow conservative users feel is one of fear or being out witted, but more so a lack of incentive

i use to post laot in there, tryuing to prove a point, but with the exception of a few moderates generaly what happens is we get into a long argument, the people i debate with give off a condescending vibe and try to sound of a higher degree by using a word processor to ensure no mistakes are made and google their articles, most of whom do nothing but perpetuate spun off stories with little substance to them other than that of conjecture (ie sighting moveon.org as a viable source) and at the end of it all, both parties leave thinking the other was wrong in every degree, and nothing in the least has changed

now, i must say that it can be very interesting and all, but i as a more self educated individual can safely say that i have learned far more from past experience than arguing with them for sessions on end, in short you can prove your point no matter how much logic you shove down their throat, we are the conservatives a group based on realism, they on the other hands are idealists, idealists have great motivation but not the expeirence nor the understanding to construct proper legislation or carry out their assigned tasks without ******** it uip

us on the other hand analyze it and try to keep things the same, and while we may want change we miss alot of what they have, a balance would be nice but there is no such thing as equality anyhow

so it pretty much boils down to them posting the same links about bush and haliburton and cheney and the us being a fascist state, and us trying to defend our position (then maybe if we are lucky they qoute somone like ghandi as justification "that skinny little firkir" -winston churchill- or they may use a cliche like "ignorance is bliss" like they know any better than us

all in all i have just grown weary of their we are better than you attitutude and their neo-socialist ideas when it should be evident that we as a free nation have done far more when we give the individual more freedom and say screw the good of society, its a free nation you can have a choice whether or not to pay taxes for welfare, etc. etc.

thats about it, also the fact that i am viewed as a radical when in fact im a fairly reaosnable person

I wouldn't say that I don't visit ED-P so much as I'm afraid or that conservatives are outnumbered but because of the same reason I don't watch much television: I feel dumber for having read some of the stuff there. Between the conspiracy theorists, the anarchists, the left wingers with their The Guardian and Capital Hill Blue, and the all-you-can-eat invective and ad hominem (who then go crying to the moderators when they get it thrown back at them, using improper reporting protocol and try to wheedle their mod buddies to get what they want).

I'm with Kazuma too. I'd prefer not to lower myself to their level. The difference between conservatives and liberals, at least one of the many, is that we don't need to pat ourselves on the back to verify our information.

That's all "Educated Political Discussion" forums are for, so that libs can pat themselves on the back and feel like hey outnumer us. That is why the odds are stacked against us, 'cause our peers are out living their lives instead of bitching about it.

Y'know, sometimes I think to myself, "How cool would it be if all of the right-wing folks like us just made an assault of sorts on the ED-P forums?" What I mean by this is, what if a good number of us just went on there one day and made as many posts as possible? I'd like to see the reactions of the Lefties. I mean, right now they must all have headaches because of the Bush Administration, what would happen if say, 100 Righties were to go to the ED-P and spoil one of their main HQ's? Would they die of heart attacks? Would they shoot themselves?

I'd just like to see how nuts we could drive them, to see if they lose it...well, more than they already have.
