The whole school had been nothing but one big suspicious mess.
Before this, nothing had really warranted her suspicion. Or rather, warranted her suspicion enough for her to go check it out beyond the brief look. At first, it had just seemed like a regular school. Regular students, for the most part. Regular teachers (if not somewhat a*****e-ish.) The news of bacterial meningitis was strange, but not uncommon. It happened in dorms -- just another reason to get your shots or risk death. Even the fire she had passed off as being just a regular fire. It happened. It was sad, but it was not the Sailor Senshi's job to put out house fires. They weren't the police, they weren't firefighters. They were here to deal with the negaverse. But as the black barrier had stretched across the sky over the suspicious school, Rea could ignore it no longer. And now that Astraea was missing...
Sailor Pegasus stayed hidden in a tree nearby, blue-green eyes appraising the barrier with the suspicion and paranoia of if it were a suspected bomb. To be honest, they didn't actually KNOW Astraea was missing. Astraea went 'missing' all the time. She was busy. Everyone knew that. She ran around, presumably awakening senshi and who knew who else, trying to avoid capture or torture or whatever it was the negaverse wanted to do with her. So it wasn't as if the grey cat's disappearance was an uncommon thing. But after the days had gone by, and no word from their resident bitchy feline, she was starting to get worried.
So what was the thing. It was dark and foreboding and looked solid enough... definitely the handiwork of the negaverse. She loathed to give up her vantage point, but from here, she couldn't do much of anything. Pegasus hadn't bothered to call the rest of the squad -- she still didn't know how comfortable she felt with all that. Especially not being leader. The only one she had told was Eve, and only because she knew that her blonde friend couldn't get out of her hospital bed. But at the same time... if something happened and she didn't check in... ... well, at least someone would know where she had been last.
Kicking off the branch, the teal-skirted senshi eyed the barrier suspiciously, lifting a hand to and hovering it a few inches from the black wall, knowing with a fair deal of certainty that if she touched it she would regret it. That's just how the Negaverse rolled.

MuCephi bit at her lip as she sometimes did when deep in thought. "Outbreaks... of Bacterial Meningitis -do- happen, and fires... but this..." She murmured, gnawing her lip again. She was sure from the intense look on her team mates face that she -knew- already what she had just said, but sometimes it just felt right to air the words, like it might give them a fresher or newer perspective.
MuCephi hadn't been called in of course... she'd seen Pegasus by chance en route and had followed close after. "Should I see if any of the rest of the team are free?" She asked quietly. "I hope you don't mind that I came..." She added watching Pegasus for a long moment as she approached the barrier, half afraid to see her touch it. ".. let me..." She offered "if you want someone to touch it let me, at least then your not out fighting power..."

"Yeah. This is not the negaverse being subtle," Pegasus responded, relaxing marginally when she heard MuCephi's voice. She hadn't realized it, but having a member of the team with her settled her nerves, a luxury she had picked up with Flora and hadn't recognized fully until Flora had ended up in the hospital.
"Flora's in the hospital... I know Nemesis is busy also. I haven't heard from the others recently." She hadn't heard from Charys recently, either. It was one of those things that had kind of dropped the Crystal girl's heart a little, but she had steeled it readily enough. It wasn't as if she hadn't predicted something like this happening... she hadn't even known why Charys had wanted to see her in the first place. Still, despite how cold and awkward she was, she did have a soft spot, and it was certainly feeling a little bruised.
Pushing her own personal feelings out of the way, Pegasus glanced over her shoulder at the black-haired girl, giving her a slightly curious look and shaking her head when she said she hoped she didn't mind, giving her a scolding expression. "If you touch it, you're out of fighting power just as much as I am. Don't be silly," She replied, scolding but softer than it usually would be. She recognized the generosity, warming to it a little. Perhaps there was hope for Rea Marshall having friends yet. Turning her blue-green eyes back towards it, she looked over the blackness with furrowed eyebrows, looking serious and thoughtful again. "... are they trying to keep the students in? For their starseeds? Why make it so obvious... do they not care if we see? Or is it a trap?"

When it came to being a Sailor Scout, Sailor Iris was far from a role model. She rarely took the job seriously, got herself injured more frequently than not, and she tended to try doing everything solo. She had yet to really achieve anything by herself, and in all honesty the Senshi of Rainbows tended to luck out by finding others like herself in the really dangerous situations.
So even though she was in her Sailor uniform, as she walked around, she looked more like a girl with nothing to do. She had her arms held up behind her head and she took exaggeratedly large steps which fell heavily upon the concrete. She was wandering around on the streets rather than sitting in her room, cramped up because she was grounded. It was a much better alternative, no matter what her parents tried to convince her.
Sailor Iris really didn't pay attention to what her feet were doing, but somehow, someway, she had been guided towards that school. What was that school called again? Barren Pines or something? She shrugged it off, seeing as it had not really been all that important to her in weeks prior. Yet there was something a bit different to it now. The campus was covered in a darkness that seemed unreal. In a fashion similar to how a pedestrian might gawk at a car accident that happened nearby, Sailor Iris walked up to the strange barrier and just looked it up and down. She hadn't even noticed the two other Sailor Scouts that were there, analyzing the situation.
All she offered was a puzzled "The hell is this?"

"I don't know..." She answered honestly and moved to stand beside her, the warmer look in the girls eyes made her more at ease as well. Not totally, she was still in 'an alien land' as far as the life, the way it made the whole world flip on its ear.
"... they have, seemed so subtle before, everything was -plausible- if suspicious, but this, I'd... if it were a book or a movie, I'd say desperation... or worse, the culmination of whatever they were doing. You don't think this will get worse do you?" She asked anxiously.
"Mmm... I know B... sailor Lyre's number? I could text her, see if she's not out with family? I know she was talking about her Cousin coming at some point, I just can't remember when."
((edit sorry!))
MuCephi turned startled at the new strange voice and her hand brushed fingertips lightly against Pegasus' arm, somewhere between alerting the girl and seeking reassurance from someone more experienced than herself.
She straitened with some of the same dignity she carried herself with at school, victorian, formal almost.
"We were just wondering that ourselves..." She answered.

The strawberry blonde girl gave a few nods as Ume continued to talk, her eyes still focused on the barrier, her face scrunching a little as she thought. "Why would they be desperate?" She murmured, just in case there were negaverse agents nearby. She didn't need to alert them of their presence just yet. If at all. Hopefully. "Lets hope we can undo whatever it is they've done... maybe we can save whoever's inside."
Bringing her hand back from the edge, Pegasus sighed to herself, glancing back at MuCephi and giving a little nod in response to her contacting Sailor Lyra. She was about to respond a little more vocally when they heard the voice behind them, and she felt the black-haired girl's hand at her arm. Pegasus spun a little, slow enough that she didn't seem panicked, but quick enough for anyone to know she was wary of the newcomer, moving a little in front of Ume protectively, her eyes appraising the Senshi of Rainbows silently. As the black-haired girl straightened, however, Pegasus moved back again, seeing that the gothic senshi was capable. She was more than a little relieved when MuCephi spoke up, letting her speak for the both of them. Let her be the Metatron for their so-far two-man group -- she appreciated it more than MuCephi probably knew.

Despite having asked the question aloud, Sailor Iris had not really expected to get any sort of verbal response. So the sudden voice replying back to her caught her by surprise. She jolted backwards, away from the strange force-field that seemed straight out of a comic book, and ever so gracefully fell on her a**.
Rather than get up and turn around, the foreigner to the group leaned back and looked up towards the voice. Some girl in a gothic Sailor uniform, and some girl in a blue-green colored Sailor uniform touched up with feathers. The lowdown: neither one was a guy. Not attempting to hide her apparent disappointment, she pushed herself up with relatively no grace. When she stood up, she reached under her skirt and attempted to dust off her rump before bringing both hands in front of her and clapping them together as if saying "A job well done!"
"I pass this everyday, and I ain't ever seen it look like that!" she casually admitted before spinning to face the two girls. She pointed to both of the girls and asked "Before I get all yer names, just wonderin' if I was interuptin' somethin'... cuz if I am, I'll get outta yer ways!"

"Sorry, we didn't mean to startle you." MuCephi offered starting a step forward to offer a hand but paused as the other girl deftly, if rather mannishly, took care of the trouble herself. good to know she wasn't the only one with trouble in the costume it seemed?
"You're not interrupting, I'm sure the more help we have to discover what and why this is the better, even better if we can find a way to save those who might still be inside?"
that taken care of, as requested she gave a small polite curtsy... "I am Sailor MuCephi, and this is Sailor Pegasus, may I ask who you are?" She smiled warmly for someone in such gothic garb.

At that very moment, something Very Strange was sitting atop the black dome, gold eyes alight with mischief and delight. Finally, finally, the idiot senshi had figured out that something was not entirely right with the Barren Pines campus. Pity it had to be a giant black dome to finally get their attention! Watching them detransform as they passed through the General King's barrier would have been too fun!
Crossing her ankles primly, Linarite picked up the megaphone she'd 'acquired' from the Hillworth gym for this very occastion. "Attention Idiot Senshi. If it's taken you this long to realize that something is amiss, you are Dumber Than I Gave You Credit For." Each word at the end was enunciated and articulated snippily, a shitfaced grin on the Lieutenant's face.
They were so fun!

-She'd been too busy to take notice of the signs, trying to pencil in sleep and homework and patrolling at night had taken a toll on the girl. Her usual hobbies.. her time spent volunteering or otherwise trying to boss her way into everyone else's business had come to almost a stand still as Polaris was drawn more and more into her new duties.
Her grades were slipping... enough that her teachers had brought it up to her. And so she'd been oblivious to the news of town. Or fires and deaths. Eat, sleep, classes, kill youma, do homework, attempt to meet more senshi. Rinse and repeat.
Even Polaris blinded eyes had seen the strange darkening in the sky however. Watched as it remained in place so unnaturally. It wasn't smoke or anything.. no.
She made her way nearer to the school, eyeing the ever growing mass of darkness the closer she got. As she neared the edge, she could see others in the distance, her head snapping immediately upwards as a voice clapped out over a megaphone.
Crap! Crap crap crap.-

"Oh... " Mu cephi said her voice growing dower like a disappointed school marm. "It's you... " but she said little more to the negaverse agent herself. "It's desperation." She said flatly to Pegasus and the new comer. "Why else would the only one we see be the one armed with the Rubber Squeak toy from the Rodent oriented pizza parlor?"
She smiled with a forced perkiness that said she was both -irritated- and that she didn't feel she was any better at that nature of verbal sparring than she was at physical sparring.

Pegasus only half listened as MuCephi introduced them, giving a short nod in indication that that was correct. It was said a lot warmer than she would have put it, which was probably for the best -- she was not that great at diplomatic relations. Ume seemed a lot better at it, something the strawberry blonde girl was exceedingly grateful for -- she'd have to remember to thank her after this whole thing was over. Right now though...
Turning her face to they sky, Pegasus' already-dour expression only flattened further when she noticed the Nega-agent, scowling up at the form on the top of the dome. The bluenette who watched them from above seemed familiar, and she squinted her eyes a little, thinking about it for a few seconds. That time... with that one blonde-boy-senshi? Yeah, that was it. She was the fail-lieutenant who had the hammer. Sailor Pegasus' demeanor immediately relaxed, glancing at MuCephi with amusement as she spoke. "I think you're right," She replied, turning her back on Linarite and quirking an eyebrow at the new senshi. Great, this was turning into a hell of a party.

MuCephi took a deep breath and glanced down at her gloved hand... " I wonder if we can attack through it.... or if it might bounce off and hurt one of us." She mused quietly and then shook her head. "I can't even do that, she'll know it too..." she sighed frustrated and glanced around.
"But theirs more of us coming, I think, but if theirs more of us..." she let the words hang, who said all the nega were inside after all, what then?

Introductions were put on hold for a moment as someone used a megaphone to announce to the general vicinity that sh*t was going down. For a moment, the blonde tensed up, not knowing anything about this particular enemy. Yet the strange thing was, the two newly introduced senshi, MuCephi and Pegasus, seemed to do the exact opposite.
This left one decently confused Sailor Iris standing there with fists up. She blinked her golden eyes, glancing between the dark haired and the strawberry blonde haired girl.
"...so... take it ya fought 'er before?" Her voice still sounded slightly on edge as she eased up her body ever so slightly and put down her fists. With her head, she gestured towards the loudmouth up in the sky before throwing in a shrug. Sailor Iris had no idea what was going on, but it didn't really matter to her.
"Right, so we got MuCephi an' Pegasus..." she stated as she pointed to each, double checking she got things right. Her finger then bounced towards the new girl who looked a bit foreign to her. "An' then we got this chick...?" she half asked, half stated. Still no guys. How boring was this!
Tucking her finger into a fist and kicking her thumb out in its place, she pointed the thumb towards herself. "Go by Sailor Iris! Yer a rather girly lookin' bunch!" She grinned a bit, not realizing that she once again spoke before really thinking things through.
She half caught the possible course of action and chimed in "Ya know, I could toss somethin' in that direction if ya want? If somethin' weird happens... well... dunno 'bout that... but I can still do somethin' if ya want!" She offered a rather noncommittal shrug in for good measure.

Oooh, lovely glares! And it seemed as if they were waiting for more reinforcements? Too bad, it would all be fruitless. The only senshi in this world that had the power to possibly punch through the shield was a Princess. Even then, Linarite didn't think that anyone could shove this much glorious dark power aside without Serenity herself!
For now, the lieutenant was content enough to watch the ants milling below. There was no angle they could attack her from up here, and she'd be down the other side before the attack could cover the distance, if they tried. Sometimes, being in the Negaverse was incredible, amazingly fun!
"Are you sure you don't want to try and beat it down? You just want to let them all die? Are you sure you're not corrupt senshi?"
She also was madly, endearingly in love with her megaphone.
