you can donate items or gold. Items for prizes in games and contests or gold to help fund the games and contests. They both go toward the same program.
You can do via trade or gifting. If you are giving an item, I find if you have over 800 items in your inventory, the trades won't show everything, you will have to manually push up the items you want to trade to the top of the list. That's when I use gifting instead.
