It was daylight, though within this part of the forest it could easily be thought of the nocturnal hours. A black and orange body was noticed moving through the trees, searching. A berry bush, soon found, was the object of this nova's quest. Who is this nova? Sicarii, one of the few who wandered around all alone. She sat near the bush and began to nibble at some of the berries, finding that they were nice and sweet as they had been the day before.
Something felt off though. What was missing on a day this...quiet. That was just it. The silence seemed to be what was off. She stopped and looked around, finding nothing within vision amiss. It made her remember the words of one other, one who'd made her think a bit more.
Nothing is as it seems.
Abondoning the berries, Sicarii moved quickly, though without fear to an abandoned den. It was a good thing too. Something unknown and dangerous walked by. It was covered with an odd fur that Sicarii recognized. Her family's killer. She stayed hidden until sounds began again and ran in the opposite direction. She ran and ran until she came to a small pond.
There she sat and growled at her reflection. "Never again shall I need to run like that..." she hissed, slapping the water with her tail. "I shall be able to attack next time, and cause that...thing...to writhe under my paws." She felt tears slide over her fur, and let them be. She needed to cry, and hope all right then.

Hendrix wandered, as he usually did. He lazily gathered berries and edibals as he wen through the bush, wandering as the wind took him, only pausing at the sense of danger.
His ears perked as he heard sounds of frustration, and the splach of water. Curiously he headed in that direction to investigate and found a small pond. It was only a few seconds before he noticed the Nova at the water's edge crying.
Are you all right? He asked uncertainly, as she didn't really look hurt. He assumed she was under some emotional stress. Is there anything I could do to help you? He sat near her curling his tail over his paws.

At the sound of the other nova's voice, she looked over. Her tail wound around her paws and made her shake with the cool touch of water. "I shall be fine." She murmured, looking up. She brought up a paw to wipe away her remaining tears. "I have just seen something that reminds me of a much less pleasant time in my life..." Her wet tail sent a shiver through her small form and she sighed. Why was the world like it was?

Ah, I understand. What you need then is not to dwell on the past, no matter how painful it may be. What you need it something to cheer you up. Here. He pulled out a flower he had picked in his gatherings and nudged it to her feet, not wanting to encroach on her personal space. Not all life, I have found, is fun or pretty as that flower. But remember, bad things happen to everyone, so you can count on others to share your burden. I have yet to find a situation horrible enough that the flowers no longer bloomed in spring. He cleared his throat uncertainly. He wasn't used to sharing his thoughts, it showed just how much his mind rambled instead of thinking on deadset things practical to everyday life.

Running, running, faster, faster; "Push yourself harder", she thought. Running and running, faster and faster. She was running. The wind blew past her, though it seemed like she blew past it, using her size to her advantage, pushing her long legs in large strides. Faster. She was making quick, short breaths as she darted through the dark and dim forest, weaving around trees and jumping over fallen tree trunks. It was exhilarating to feel and see the world blaze by her in a blur. She kept running.
. . . . .
Panting heavily, she rested in the shade of a large tree, making it even harder to see her in the already dark environment. All but her striking yellow eyes and brightly striped patterns being visible. She heard a splash in the distance, her ears angling up to listen in closer, catching the sounds of low volumed talking between, what sounded, like two other beings. Lexis waited until her breathing became evenly paced before she gave into her curiosity, moving silently towards the mumbling voices in the distance.

A Flower? So trivial, yet it seemed to make her stir and feel that something could be fixed. Her orange eyes turned toward the Nova before her, not hearing the sounds of the other approaching. "Thank you for this..." It seemed that she meant this, and was interested in his other words. "You seem like you have had many experiences in your lifetime....or is it that you just think far too much?" Her tail twitched at the tip in mild amusement.

My family says I dream to much and that I don't know reality. But truly, I just think. I was never very interested in play, all the other kits thought me odd. Now that I'm grown enough to be called an adult, not much has changed. Hendrix looked around suddenly realizing his surroundings. He truly didn't have a clue where he was. Oh dear, see, I think too much on some things, but on others not at all. I have no idea where this is. I doubt my family will worry though, I wander like this too often for it to be irregular. He nodded smiling slightly. His own kithood and past was not as drenched with sorrow as some, but he had always been an outcast. A lonely life can make up for tragedy. Still, now that he was an adult he had moved into a den of his own a little away from hit parents.
His ears twitched as he distantly heard crashing in the brush, but it wasn't yet close enough or loud enough for it to register in his mind.

She made her way through the brush and trees, trying to move as quietly as possible as she stalked closer to the voices. She set her ears back as she moved, slowing her pace and crawling over to a tree that stood just before the opening of the small meadow with the pond. Lexis angled her ears up again, peaking around the small branches and blades of grass that she was spying through, ever so curiously at that.

A dark figure could be seen, walking along the pond's edge. It was an unusually small sized nova. Jet black fur, red along the tips on it's body, and white spot markings. They white spots stood out brightly in the night, along with it's crimson cat eyes. Tis a beautiful evening to enjoy a refreshing dip in the pond. It had spoke to it's self. The nova was a small male. Ankou, was his name. His ears twitched at the sound of the water splashing. His tail flicked behind him as he heard faint voices. Others? He had questioned as he walked over into the direction of the voices. He noticed a black and orange nova at the water's edge. Also, a purple nova with striking white spots all over. He was close enough for them to hear him, Good morrow. He had said to them as he was close enough to be seen.

So many seemed to be appearing now! She was very unused to others, and this was one thing that she could not handle well. Her tail began to twitch nervously as she attempted to speak to the purple nova beside her. Though to no avail. She couldn't think too clearly now as she heard sounds that signaled other possible Nova being around.

Lexis continued to observe the strangers near the pond, watching them all curiously as another nova appeared. She noticed that the black and orange nova was starting to get uncomfortable and decided to to sit up and step slowly into the clearing, her tail swinging lightly behind her. Lexis smiled at the other female nova in a friendly manner, trying to show her that she wasn't a risk to her safety.

That was certainly unexpected. She was acknowledged yet again. "Oh... hello there." She spoke, voice a bit quieter than last time. She looked to the others around her, and then the flower caught her eye again. She looked away though, not interested in it any longer. "Where... are you all coming from?" She asked, her eyes holding the curiosity and slight fear that she was feeling.

Another thing I have noticed... Hendrix started, Is that like calls to like, and chance can move in odd ways. I belive it is chance that they have found there way here, as it was chance that led me here also. And who could resist a spot such as this, with the water so clear? He smiled trying to ease the black and Orange one's fears. Perhaps it will not be so unnerving if we all introduced ourselves? I am Hendrix. He seemed to trail off oddly, or at least leave his statment hanging as he ran out of things to say. He was already speaking much more of his thoughts than he normally did. Still, he kept smiling warmly, or perhaps more dreamily as his thoughts started to shift in a different direction.

She stopped a few feet from the orange and black nova so that she didn't invade her space too much, sitting down after a moment. She smiled again kindly as she introduced herself to the others, "My name is Lexis. It is nice to meet you all. I couldn't help myself from running through this area, it's colder here because of the trees so it makes a nice breeze. That and the scenery is just lovely. As for why I'm here, I heard voices from a ways off" Lexis lifted her tail for a moment to indicate the direction. "I came to investigate."
