Sitting on the park bench, Rein was busy wiping her nose and covering her mouth as she lets out several sneezes. Her fever had finally went down but the woman couldn't stand being locked up in her room for another day. Even though she looked overdressed, the woman still felt a little cold underneath the many layers of her clothes.
But really, Rein wasn't out of the house for her own benefit. She was really just watching over her ward and made sure she didn't get into any trouble.
There are times when Luska would remain calm and collected. But being a rather curious child, she couldn't help but run around out of excitement and observe every part of the park. It was one of the very few times that Rein was able to take Luska out to places like a park, even though the weather wasn't very agreeable.
What currently caught the child's eye was a squirrel that still seemed to be collecting food for storage. "Aww, so cute~!" Luska cooed, which didn't seem to startle the animal. It quickly made a dash towards a tree, dropping the acorn it held. "No, wait! Don't leave!" Luska whined and chased after it.
The small squirrel quickly escaped into the safety of a tree. Luska frowned upon finally reaching the tree. Crossing her arms across her chest, the girl pouts as she watches the squirrel crawled back into its home.

"To the park, again?" Vincent asked his younger brother with a slight frown. It wasn't that he minded going to the park, it was the cold. "Why can't we go for hot chocolate or something? Go to an indoor swimming pool? Anything that isn't outside?" The teenager was in several layers of clothes, but it didn't seem to stop the chill from coming in. He knew his younger brother was as uncomfortable in thick layers as he was; so why did Kaleb insist on visiting the park?
"Might see Jake," Kaleb responded to Vincent's unspoken question. The toddler had become attached to Lirona, and even more attached to her tentacle, which he had named Jake. He was wearing a bright blue puffy coat, which really was little to effect since his wings stuck out of it. He looked at his mittens uncomfortably. "'Cent, you said I get use to this," he accused. "I no use to it. I no like it. I no can move." He showed his older brother his hands for proof.
The toddler fell silent. He had spotted Luska, and a frown crossed his face. "'Cent, hide me!" Vinny didn't have to move, because Kaleb moved behind him. "I no here, kay? No tell. You always tell."
"I won't tell."

There was no way the cute critter would come out of its home now. Not with the girl still standing under it. This made Luska rather disappointed but decided that she shouldn't bother waiting for it to come out now. Turning around, Luska planned on making her way back to Rein. But what stopped her in her tracks was the rather tall looking teenager that stood several feet away from her.
It wasn't really hard not to notice him considering the large wings on either sides of his head. Clothes can cover up a lot, but even the most obvious things tend to stand out a lot. With that thought in mind, she idly touched her feather tipped ears. They were pretty, but if she had wings like his, would that have made her even prettier? The thought made her frown a little.
Not to mention, the boy also had a pretty looking gem on his forehead too. Another reason to be jealous? Definitely!
Nervously taking a few steps closer, but still keeping distance between her and Vincent (and unknowingly, the younger boy hiding), she takes a deep breath before exclaiming, "You're so much prettier looking than Lulu, how unfair~!"
Perhaps using the word "pretty" for a boy wasn't the right term to use. But she never heard of any other term of compliment used before; she lived in a house that was mostly female dominant and the only boy she knew/is friends with was Cody.

Vincent stared at Luska for a long moment, not knowing what to say. He went a nice shade of red, and shook his head. "You're very pretty too," he complimented her with a smile. Hey, if she said he was pretty, who was he to tell her she was wrong? "Much prettier than I am," he added quickly. He was humility, after all, despite having some confidence; he still saw most people as above him.
Kaleb poked his head out from behind his brother's legs. Someone was calling his brother pretty? No fair! He was the pretty one, even if he was stuck wearing horribly uncomfortable clothes. "I pretty too!" he cried, moving out from his hiding place. Normally he was shy, but he wouldn't stand to be ignored. Couldn't Luska see that he was ten times as pretty as his brother?
Vincent looked down at his brother, who was slowly making his way towards Luska. He chuckled, shook his head, and put a clawed hand on the toddler's shoulder. "Yes yes, you're pretty too." He paused, looking at Luska again. "My name's Vincent, but you can call me Vinny. This is my baby brother, Kaleb."
"I not a baby," Kaleb argued, crossing his arms.

Luska hadn't expected to be complimented back. And the older boy even said she was much prettier. The child couldn't help but almost feel the excitement burst out of her chest due to feeling over joyed. "Thank you, mister~!"
It was then did the child finally noticed yet another boy was also present. She tilted her head curiously as the boy proclaims that he was just as pretty too. Indeed, the little boy did have very interesting features as well, especially his rather unique metallic wings.
"I'm Luska. But likes calling myself, Lulu." She says and smiles at the both of them.
She stares at both boys (especially their wings) rather fondly. With an envious sigh, she adds, "You have the prettiest wings. Lulu sometimes wishes she could have wings too..." All she had were little tufts of golden feathers.

Vincent gave Luska another smile. "It's nice to meet you, Luska. May I call you Lulu as well?" Calling people by their full names just seemed too formal to the teenage boy; it wasn't something he thought friends would do--and Vincent liked to be everyone's friend. Luckily for him, his humble nature made that easy for him. "Would you like to be friends, Lulu? We can play a game, there's three of us, so we have enough to play tag."
Kaleb provided Luska with a sunny smile. "You pretty too," he told her with the wisest nod a toddler could give. Being lust, he couldn't resist showing off a bit. He turned around so she could see his wings, so he was no longer facing her, and flapped them. "They pretty, but I no can fly," he said rather wistfully. "Wish I fly."
Vincent ruffled his brother's hair affectionately. "You might fly someday, you know," he said. "But enough comparing ourselves. Let's play!"

Luska smiled and nodded her head. "Yes, you can call me that and Lulu would be really happy to have new pretty friends!" She didn't mind either way. It was nice to have others, especially (new) friends, to call her by nickname.
Her smile grew even more at the second compliment she received today (a whole new record!). "It's okay, Kaleb. Wings are meant to fly. Kaleb will be able to fly one day!" The girl reassures him before turning to Vincent adn nodding her head in agreement. Anymore comparing/showing off and she might turn green with envy.
"Okay then, who is going to be 'it'?"

Vincent blushed as she called him pretty a second time. He really didn't think he was much to look at; the one trait he did like about himself were his headwings. He had struggled to learn to float like his angelic parent. "I love making new friends as well," he said, giving her a smile. "It's always nice to meet new people."
"Someday..." Kaleb echoed, looking to Luska. "Maybe someday, Lulu get wings too! We fly 'gether? Maybe when Lulu big, and I still little, maybe Lulu teach me fly!"
Vincent ruffled Kaleb's hair, but didn't want to crush Luska's hopes if she believed the toddler. He decided not to point out that everyone he knew who had wings had been born with them. "You want to be it, Lulu? I can be it if you don't want to be. Kaleb's kinda little, and I think he'd get distracted and we'd be running away from ourselves."

"Lulu cam have wings someday too?" The thought never crossed her mind. To be honest, she hadn't really thought much about not having wings until she realized how nice they looked on others. Luska wanted to just be as pretty as others (if not more)! She nodded her head in agreement towards the smaller boy. "Lulu promises to teach Kaleb to fly when Lulu grows her wings!" Though the child doesn't know how much of a disappointment she'll have to face in the near future.
"M'kay! Lulu doesn't mind. Lulu will start counting to ten now!"

Vincent sighed, he really hadn't wanted Luska to think she could get wings too; it would lead to hurt in the future. Why couldn't she see that she was pretty enough the way she was? "Um. Maybe you could ask Santa Claus for them, or something. Or maybe make a wish on a star--I hear there's someone at the facility that grants wishes. I've never really seen him before." He decided to let her count, smiling because he knew it'd give him a good headstart; though he had no doubt that she would be able to catch him. He ran towards the play-park.
Kaleb smiled brightly at Luska before nodding and running behind a tree. He had never played tag before, he didn't really quite understand the purpose of it--nor the point of the game. What was he supposed to do again?

"Oh, okay! Lulu will Listen to Vincent's advice too then!" Who would have thought? There were more ways to get wings than Luska had even imagined! Of course, the first thing she would try would be the Santa Clause idea; Christmas is coming close after all!
The girl turns her back towards them and begins to count as loud as possible so the boys could hear no matter how far away they ran off to. "Eight......Nine......TEN!" Turning on her heels to face back towards them again, the child noticed that Vincent was running towards the play-park. However, she didn't turn around in time to see where Kaleb had hidden himself.
Deciding it was easier to catch Vincent first rather than try to find Kaleb, Luska made a dash towards the teen's direction.

Vincent smiled as he realized Luska was chasing him. Good. He whirled around to face her. "Come on, run faster! You can do it! I'm not that fast," he encouraged, before darting off. It wasn't everyday that the person you were chasing encouraged you to catch them. He spotted Kaleb's wings sticking out from behind a tree and smiled. He had no time to chuckle; he was too busy trying to get caught. After all, it was much more fun chasing than it was being chased. He slowed up.
Kaleb poked his head out from behind his tree, wondering silently what was taking Luska so long to find him. He, like most toddlers his age, had an inability to sit still. Unfortunately for him (and probably his parents) he wasn't a child of patience. His brown eyes surveyed the scene, and a smile crossed his face. She was chasing Vincent! That looked like fun. He hoped he was it next, so he could chase people too.
