akudragon ...now your scaring me.... I would have been more worried at the point when my best opposite sex friend brought me to a sex shop and gave me a condom. Honestly, I have never heard of anybody doing that, so I can only hope to assume it's a joke, but I'd be prepared, either way. Eh. Personally I wouldn't take it too seriously...

Like Unda said, there's really not a whole lot of information here so, it's hard to say for sure... but, that does sound like a sort of unusual situation and probably best not to judge your friend's interest in you based on it.
From my own experience with male friends, if they have a crush on you, they will find a way to let you know. Guys can be pretty persistent and often become more direct if/when their hints don't seem to be doing the trick, or when they think they've done enough to get their feelings across to you and want to take things further.
So, my advice based on what you've said is to simply blow that off and not read too much into it.
Also, girls aren't any safer lol

It's a sex shop. I've been in one with my sister and brother in law. It's just another store.
It's also always a good idea to have a condom on your persons at all times. It's better to have it and not need it than to not have it and NEED it.
You're looking into this all too much, calm down.

Instead of asking us, when we don't even know the situation or the person in question, why don't you just ask him?
"So, why did you give me a condom? Do you want to have sex with me?"
If he does, in fact, want to have sex with you, you can either:
a) Have sex with him, if you're interested or
b) Not have sex with him.
Ta-da.
