I'm not gone, exactly, but December is going to be hella busy for me, for several reasons.
1. I stupidly planned a Chanukah party at my own house for every night that I wasn't invited out to a party at someone else's house.
2. Starting in 5 days, the pottery studio where I've been spending a lot of time lately, making things to use and/or to sell, is going on vacation; or, rather, the people who own it are going on vacation for two weeks. So I've been spending even more time there, hoping to get things done before their vacation starts and the pottery studio becomes inaccessible to me.
3. And then I got the notice that they'd like me to be a key master while they're gone from the 20th of December to the 4th of January. That means I'll have a key to the studio, and be obligated to come by at regular times to open the studio for others in the mornings and then close it again in the afternoons (or, rather, turn the running of the studio over to the night volunteer). So I've been learning where everything is, and the routine of keeping the place running -- sweeping and turning the thermostat on/off is easy, but you wouldn't believe all the other stuff a person can get into if they're being conscientious.
So, yeah. Police yourselves. The cat's away, so let the mice play. Just play nicely with one another, please, as a personal favor to me, since I know I'll be the one to sort out the messes when I get back in full swing.

Update: Here's a little of what I've been doing lately. You can now see all my pottery that I've made since joining the pottery studio in October. If you add me as a friend, make sure to tell me who you are on Gaia! The references you may not understand (SCA, Pelican Master, and so on) are references to the Society for Creative Anachronism, a not-for-profit medieval re-creation society in which I participate.
