With all the chaos and commotion from the events of the President's Ball over, Chase was glad that things had calmed down at least a little. While he couldn't help but wonder what became of the shooter and what motivated the guy to do what he did, he didn't put a great deal of thought into it. He was certain the man got whatever he deserved in any case. The general was fine too, last he heard.

Soon after it was done, he had been told he would be receiving a Zoid of his own once it was ready. For some time he had been awaiting this sort of opportunity, so while it wasn't the aerial Zoid of his dreams, he certainly wasn't going to be complaining any time soon. With some time on his hands, and the fact that he was curious to see if the Shield liger was set, he had made his way to one of the hangars to see if he might be able to locate it.

Of course, he had no clue what it looked like aside from being a Shield liger, but it was always nice to see what was in the hangars any way.

As he made his way deeper into the hangar, Chase glanced around at a few of the other pilots that were out and about. It seemed a number of them were tuning or checking up on their own Zoids for the most part. Though, even with the noise from the general bustle and machinery, he wasn't quite prepared when one of the Gunsnipers in the area gave a roar.

Jumping at that, he looked to see if anything was amiss. However, as he looked up at a very well equipped Gunsiper, he soon realized that there really wasn't anything wrong. At least that's what he thought. It was hard to tell from the ground, but judging the open cockpit, he could only guess someone was sitting in there.

"That's some impressive equipment you have on this fella," he called up... hoping he wasn't talking to no one.

As the other cadet came on down to the ground level, Chase continued to look over the Gunsniper. He had heard about the weasel unit, but he hadn't really had much of a chance to see one before now. With all the armaments attached to the zoid, he could only imagine what it might be like in action.

Hearing another voice, his attention shifted back to the one who owned this Zoid. For a moment, he hesitated in his answer, seeing how he didn't have much of one right now.

"I'm.. actually not sure yet. But that's why I'm here. I just got a zoid recently and right now all I know of it is that it's a Shield Liger. Most likely it just has the standard equips for now."

"Hm?"

Chase looked over where Lorna had motioned, soon spotting the white liger not too far away. From the looks of things, there wasn't anyone else near that particular zoid, and it did seem fairly new. Even though there wasn't anything particularly fancy about it, just the sight of it brought a light to his eyes. He would definitely need to get a closer look soon.

"Oh no worries. Hard not to get dirty when working with machines," he replied with a lightly laugh as he turned back to the other cadet, "I'm Chase Warner. A pleasure to meet you Lorna. Have you had your gunsniper for long?"

"Oh wow, that's pretty neat.." he mused before looking back towards the Shield liger. Nodding to his new aquaintence, he stepped on over towards the other zoid, eager to get a closer look. It had been awhile since he felt this sort of excitement, and it made him wonder if other pilots had a similar feeling whenever they received their first Zoid.

Once he was up closer, Chase stared at the white and blue liger in awe. But he stopped himself. All this time he had just been assuming this was his, but there really wasn't any way for him to know for certain right now. For all he knew, there could be another soldier who was getting a new zoid themself.

Realizing this, his heart sank a little as he started to think he might have gotten his hopes up too high here. But it was then that one of the mechanics came jogging up towards the two.

"Ah! There you are.. I think? Are you Chase Warner?" asked the man while glancing between Chase and a clipboard.

"Y-yeah. Is there something wrong?"

"Oh no no! I was just about to send ya a message, but looks like you're already here. Nice timing by the way. But uh... here it is! Just arrived today," he replied with a grin before looking over at Lorna, "Oh, could ya do me a favor and help him register? I gotta work on one of the command wolves. Got pretty messed up it did."

"A'ight. Thanks, oh and take care of your new zoid, alright?" said the man before moving off to do some repairs.

For a few moments, Chase felt a little stunned. With what the mechanic said, it confirmed that this zoid was his. Grinning, he felt rather relieved that his fears were wrong and feelings of excitement soon came back.

"Ah, for a moment I thought I had my hopes up too high. Right now I kinda feel like a kid who just got their first puppy or something..." Chase said. Shaking his head to himself, he glanced over at Lorna, "Was it kinda like that whenever you first got your sniper?"

Nodding silently, Chase couldn't imagine a different reaction for the most part. Anyone who didn't feel at least a little bit of excitement for their first Zoid probably shouldn't be working or piloting them in the first place.

To some extent, it felt a little surreal; like a dream. It wasn't until Lorna spoke up again that he snapped out of his thoughts with a grin.

"Sounds good to me," he replied before beginning to make his way up to the cockpit. While he moved, he began to try and think up of some names for his new Zoid. He didn't really just want to call it "liger" or anything along those lines after all.

Once in the cockpit, his grin grew wider. He couldn't wait to pilot the zoid for the first time! But that would come soon enough. If he was lucky, he'd be able to take it out for a sort of 'test drive' a little later today.

"That would be really nice," he said with a smile as he went through the steps to get the Shield liger registered under his name. Over all it didn't take too long to go through the steps. And before long, the two were registered and all set to go.

"Alright, looks like that's all set. Should we get going then?"

As he asked, he glanced over towards the exit of the hangar.
