Welcome to the world of Etherea. You have arrived here out of a desire to aid the fledgling fighting force of the world to earn its place, or perhaps you came out of curiosity. It does not matter. This role play is one that will require players to shed what they know about previous races, classes and ties to other fantasy settings. Become immersed in a world where there is constant strife and struggle and find your own way in the world.
Foreword: This is an advanced role play, so if you are out of line, you will be called on it. I promise not to publicly embarrass you, however I will send you a PM and expect there to either be a valid reason as to why you did what you did or otherwise be expected to change the post as necessary.
There will only be Four role players active in this thread at any one time with the exception of myself, as I will be controlling the countless NPC's that the group will encounter along the way. Any who wish to join after the slots have been filled may fill out a profile skeleton and they will be noted when they asked to join and placed on the waitlist. See further below for details. IF a member of the role play becomes inactive for more than 2 weeks without any notice, they will be controlled by me and removed from the role play. If there is a valid excuse PRIOR to the absence, then the deadline is variable depending on the situation.
Rules: 1: Follow Gaia ToS. If you're in this RP and you don't, you don't belong here, let alone on Gaia. 2: No cybering. Romance is encouraged, however anything more than PG-13, take it to PM's. 3: No God-Moding or Auto-Hitting. Meaning if you are performing an action for example: Running from the town guards after stealing from a shop. You do NOT get to say: "And then *Insert generic name here*, got away." You allow myself, or whomever is controlling the NPC's an opportunity to react and then respond accordingly. 4: Thread Activity will be a goal in this thread. I would like each member to post at least twice each week, but preferably more. The amount you post *must* be more than a single sentence, preferably a paragraph. 5: Follow the information that I give you. 6: Since this will mainly be a Player versus Dungeon Master style environment, killing is allowed, and encouraged, however, it must go through proper sequences first (No running up and slaughtering innocent villagers for no reason) There will be little to no player versus player, but this can occur. However unless I deem it okay, there will be no player killing. 7. Swearing is fine, just know your limits. If I see the F* bomb, consider it quits. 8. Copy the profile Skeleton and fill it out, send it in a PM to me titled For the Glory of the Realms! 9. Do not post until after you have received a confirmation message from me saying that you have been accepted and there is room for you in the current party. 10. I reserve the right to change these rules and any part of this RP as necessary, should the need arise. Do not worry, I will not abuse this power, however, I am the ONLY ONE who can and will proceed time in the thread, meaning nobody can post "And then the next day..." etc. 11. Have fun and enjoy. If you have any questions, PM me.

World Information & Recruitment Status
The world of Etherea is a beautiful place. All life exists on a single continent that stretches from the arctic reaches of the north to the vast deserts of the southern regions, between the two landmasses stands a large mountain range that is covered by rocky and difficult terrain that separates the two lands while in reality is actually a territory of its own. This continent is known as Hadron. Though many of the races who originally inhabited this world are now gone, their descendants, and their conquerors still reside on the surface of the world.
The year is 1399, the year of the Drake. The civilized inhabitants of the world are divided into three factions: Tundra's Chosen, Dragonblood and The Scorched. The Chosen live within the snowy peaks to the north, they are the descendants of humans who adapted to the frigid environment. Their kingdom is known as the Crystal Sanctuary. The Dragonblood exist inside the mountainous, rocky terrain that intersects the continent of Hadron. They are an elder race, one that hunted the others in the past and do still today seek the eradication and subjugation of the "lesser races". Their primary citadel is known as The Crimson Crag. The Scorched reside amongst the desert caves and underground tunnels while occasionally surfacing to hunt for the very dangerous hunters who live and walk amongst the sands. These are the direct descendants of the elves of ages past, their skin has become blackened and dark due to their long exposure to the sun. They have one underground city known only as "Cindra'Alor".
The Role Play is currently FULL. If you wish to join, fill out a profile and you will be added to the wait list.

Racial Information
There are many different species in the world of Etherea, however there are only three civilized and organized races. First: The BoreanThe former humans of Hadron have lost their once rosy complexion and adopted a pale blue. These men and women are stoic defenders of the arctic and as such are far more sturdier and stronger than their ancestors. They tend to live to be roughly 230. They have managed to become immune to the cold and have developed an affinity to the ice and are able to manipulate it with ease. Some of the Borean are able to create ice even when in temperate regions where it is much hotter. Average Age: 78 Racial Traits: Immune to Frost, Increased Regeneration, Weakness to Fire Secondly: The DrakesThese dragonoid creatures have long since been the dominant force in the world of Etherea due to their long lifespan and physical strengths. They are very powerful soldiers and very belligerent. Rumors believe the only reason that Dragonsblood has waged war on the other races of Hadron for as long as anyone can recall is simply to avoid civil war. Some Drakes however are already of this sentiment and feel the genocide of the other races to be wrong. All Drakes live to be roughly 500. Average Age: 170 Racial Traits: Flight(Wings are optional in the profile), Increased Strength, Weakness to Magic Finally: The Dark ElvesThe dark elves live both underground and on the surface of the sands when they desire to come out. The dark elves are all that remain of the once very populous elven race. They now are but a shell of their former glory. They have not lost their fighting spirit however, quite the contrary. Their position on the brink of extinction has renewed their drive to survive and they have begun a new era of expansion and unification under The Scorched. They occasionally work with the Boreans to the far north when possible to secure supplies and plan retaliation against the Drakes who dominate the world. The dark elves are extremely quick and agile. Additionally, they are extremely attuned to heat as both in their underground city as well as the sands above ground, they draw their power from all heat sources. They live long healthy lives until roughly 350. Average Age: 138 Racial Traits: Immunity to Fire, Increased Agility and Speed, Weakness to Frost

Class Information
Each race has 3 classes it may choose from. These classes determine what skillsets and play style you will be using.
The Borean Classes:
Glacial Theurgist- This class revolves around the mastery of ice in every form. The Theurgist may manipulate snow, frost or even moisture in the air into weapons of frozen death. This class is primarily a spellcasting class, therefore in melee combat, they do not tend to last exceedingly long.
Disciple of the Tundra- This class is a hybrid of healing magic through prayers to the very elements while still maintaining a decent fighter at close range. The Disciples are able to use their magic to heal their allies and wield standard smaller weapons.
Guardians of Frost - These men and women have honed their bodies to not only withstand the arctic environment in which they reside but they also use their bodies as their weapon. They are quick and powerful, able to protect their allies in a moment's notice. Their primary flaws however is their lack of magic as well as the inability to wear the armor that they essentially do not need due to their speed and skill.
Drake Classes
Drake Mageblade- These dragonoids are at less of a disadvantage to magic than most of their species. They have chosen to learn the ways of their enemies and utilize it in their weapons. They are able to channel a small portion of the opposing element of their enemies into their weapon and release it when they attack, if no element is selected, they may channel their blade to provide *minor* healing to themselves or allies. The Mageblades are a powerful force, however they are much weaker in combat than their other two professions.
Clawbearer- The Drakes who choose to become Clawbearers are the foot soldiers of the Dragonsblood army. They are heavily armed and armored, well skilled with blades and blunt weapons and are prepared to destroy whatever gets in their way, including allies, should the need arise. Their weak point of course is that they possess no magical affinity.
Flight Keeper- These individuals gave up their wings during their youth in order to tend and raise the trueborn dragons who reside within the mountains. These gargantuan beasts in their early stages of life are quite vulnerable while they are still young and puny. Over time however, they shed all their weakness and become the flying juggernauts of the skies. Defeating a full grown dragon and its Drake Flight Keeper is no small task for anyone.
Dark Elf Classes
Acolyte of Fire- These elves worship the sun and conjure flames from the palms of their hands. They are both priests and sorcerers, unleashing divine fire upon their enemies and restoring the bodies of their allies with the use of their cleansing heat. They are extremely weak in close combat and are primarily support.
Desert Chargers- The dark elves have long since adapted to both the darkness and the light of both the desert and the underground. There are some who have chosen to live amongst the dunes as their way of life, they are known as Desert Charges. These people have become faster and more adept and remaining undetected than any other being on Hadron. While immensely strong when it comes to subtlety and ambushing, they possess no magical affinity.
Summoners- There are few among the elves who have turned to darker arts. These individuals have disregarded the warnings of their peers and delved into the wide world of demons. These men and women are able to summon forth demons from the Nether and have them do their bidding. The demons range depending on how powerful the summoner is. The main downside to their ability is that demons, no matter how strong the summoner, have a mind of their own, and would love nothing more than to turn on their new masters.

Accepted Profiles & Inactive Players
Gaia UserName: Ultimashade Character Name: Shadowtooth Race: Drake Gender: Male Age: 200 Class: Clawbearer Appearance: Slightly smaller than the average Clawbearer, but muscular in several places like arms and chest. His teeth are a slight black. He has upright spines on his back, are also black. He has thick legs from extreme use. Bio: Shadowtooth was raised near the Crimson Crag, he's always wanted to be a soldier there. Before then, he'd been learning the same techniques used by every drake since their creation. He used some of his body parts more or less than other Clawbearers, causing him to develop differently. One day he was taken on a routine mission, when he was informed about the call. It surprised him that he was wanted by a being he considered lesser than himself. He still considered himself over them, but he chose not to openly voice this. He was intrigued by the request to the point that he had to see this "new order" for himself. It was hard for him to escape the Crimson Crag, but escaped he did.
Gaia UserName: Zulma san Character Name: Tiagara Malvae Race: Dark Elf Gender: Female Age: 111 Class: Summoner Appearance: She possesses a dark purple skin with pitch black hair which reachs her shoulders. Her right eye is silver, seeming glowing when she summons creatures. She is quite tall, even for a dark elf and although she is a summoner, daily exercise keep her overall body in shape. A distinctive sign: a scar running across her face from her upper lip through her left eye to the base of her hair. The result is frightening for some, ugly for others. Her left eye cannot open and she possesses a lock of white hair at the end of her scar. Bio: Tiagara had a peaceful youth in the far border of the Dark Elves land where collaboration with the Boreans was if not continuous, at least common practice. The young elf quickly developed the ability to summon demons of lesser strength and importance, often forgetting the potential impact of her actions on the local settlement. When she was about 50, she witnessed the attack of the camp by the Drakes, the Dark Elves decided to flee, leaving the Boreans quite defenseless. Tiagara stayed behind trying to summon demons which were far too powerful for her. She paid the price of her right eye and beautiful face for her arrogance...or some would say stupidity. She owed her life to an old Glacial Theurgist who saw her attempts at saving Boreans and decided to heal her, despite the anger of the rest of the surviving Boreans who had only noticed the Dark Elves fleeing. For years, she stayed by his side, until his death, which coincided with the raise of a rumor about a certain Ferron. As she heard about Ferron and his wishes of peace, she decided that time had come for her to move on. She headed for Goodwill, with the certitude that Boreans and Dark Elves could coexist, but filled with doubt as to the Drakes' ability to peace.
Gaia Username:cutullus Character Name: Glacon Race: Borean Gender: Male Age: 35 Class: Disciple of the Tundra
Appearance: A short male Borean with shoulder-length white hair held back by a leather thong. Well fed, even pudgy, he has clearly not outgrown his baby fat. His nimble fingers are always at work, whether they are occupied by the complex workings of a prayer or the forceful motions of a blade. Piercing black eyes under his white brows give the only sign that there might be more to this disciple than meets the eye.
Bio: Glacon is a young Borean, barely halfway through his third tenyear. Although quick at his studies, his elders felt that he did not take his devotions seriously enough. Lack of study was not the problem, but rather his disrespect of traditional dogma and his irritating habit of asking the wrong question at the most embarrassing time. With few friends in his clan he felt little urge to remain, so he packed his belongings and set out to see more of the world.
Although other Boreans and the few members of other races are frequently surprised to see such a young disciple out wandering, they are always glad of his healing skills which he freely shares in exchange for a meal and a night's lodging whenever he finds himself near habitation. Most of his traveling is spent in more remote areas, meditating on the subtle interplay of the elements and how they define a location.
Freely traveling, he began his journey with no destination in mind. However, that changed three nights ago when he took shelter with a small enclave of Katar that he encountered while following the mineral flows in a stream down the side of a mountain. While telling fire-tales that evening he heard intriguing news of a Katar named Ferron causing a stir in the middle lands. Never one to turn away from a new vantage on the world, Glacon said his farewells in the early twilight and placed his traveler's feet on the path to Goodwill.
Gaia UserName: Kagetsukiko Character Name: Shini Race: Drake Gender: Female Age: 100 Class: Flight Keeper Appearance: Relatively young for a drake, Shini is scrawny even for her age. Her dragon, Kami, is with her as much as possible. Although he hasn't fully grown yet, he no longer needs a flight keeper for protection and is old enough to let Shini fly on him. Shini has short, messy hair that she usually keeps hidden under a red bandana. To help secure the bandana, and protect her eyes while flying, she also wears a pair of goggles on her head. Like other Keepers, Shini has had her wings torn off when she was young. Her skin is pitch black, her eyes are blood red. Her claws and hair are a gleaming white when cleaned well, but since she usually doesn't care too much about her personal appearances (she makes sure to keep clean when she can but doesn't worry about the little details) they are usually a dull white. She is much smaller and weaker than others her age and thus looks younger. Her scrawny size has its uses though, she's much better at sneaking around then other Drakes, even though she's also much weaker. Of course, she's nowhere near as good as a Desert Charger. Shini has a number of knives and poisons in her belt that she uses for both deadly accurate long-range attacks and careful close range combat. Because she's a drake, Shini still has a fair amount of physical strength in spite of her frail appearance. Although, it's still less than that of an average drake's. Shini usually hides most of her body and appearance underneath an old, ragged cloak. Kami is a brilliant white with clear black markings all over his body, even reaching the tips of his wings. The markings are symmetrical on both sides of his body. His claws are black and his eyes are red. Shini always makes sure that he is clean and well cared for. Although he always nags Shini to take care of herself a bit more, she always refuses. His growth is normal even though he weighs less than average. The reason, he's a dragon bred for speed. Kami's wingspan and tail are significantly longer to help him in flight while the rest of his body is smaller to decrease his weight. However, Kami is still relatively young for a dragon and so hasn't fully developed yet. For now, her withers rise up to twice the height of Shini, who's smaller than most Drakes, when sitting on her haunches. Kami and Shini are a messenger team, their main purpose is to deliver letters, because of Shini's small size and Kami's breed. However, when pushed to it, they can hold their own in battle. Of course, it isn't by fighting the opponent head-on. More like disabling and dodging the opponent long enough to get away. Bio: Shini, to describe in one word, is an outcast. She was named after the word for "death" by her parents because she wasn't expected to live long after being born a runt. When she did, they abandoned her. Because the Drakes didn't have orphanages, she was given to the Keepers at a much earlier age than normal. As a result she received Kami's egg at a much earlier age than other Keepers. Before she was even a teen, she started caring for Kami. As a result of raising him when he was so young, the two are more like mutual friends than the parent-child relationship that the other Keepers share. Because she was treated as an outcast even among the Keepers, Shini has grown to become very quiet and careful in her actions, which also helps when she sneaks around. Her first experiences in sneaking around came from the times she had been bullied by the other Drakes. Although she may be physically stunted, Shini is nowhere near mentally stunted. She can easily read a situation and figure out a plan of action to get past it with the resources she has. Of course, her willingness to speak up in those kinds of situations is another matter. Her tough past has taught her to see the silver lining in every cloud, as well as convincing her that Drake's are not a "superior race". Kami was Shini's one and only friend when she was with the Keepers and vice-versa. Kami was named by Shini after the word for "spirit". It was on a whim, really, Kami's white body popping out of the egg reminded Shini of a spirit. Protective, he would often chase away those that bullied her once he was big enough. Of course, Shini is also protective of Kami, but she often finds it hard to protect him now that he's grown and is much more stronger than her. Like Shini, Kami is usually quiet, but he's not afraid to speak his mind when he feels the need to. When he has his mind set on something, he usually pursues it until the end. In times like this, only Shini is his voice of reason. In fact, Shini is usually the one that convinces him from doing rash acts. In turn, Kami is usually the one that convinces Shini to speak her mind when needed. Kami will usually be the one to suggest new things to Shini. Although Shini is weak, the pair is as strong as any messenger team thanks to their teamwork, which far excels that of any other team thanks to their unique relationship. Despite that, without Kami, Shini is very vulnerable. The thing that Kami is most afraid of at the moment is growing too big to be able to comfortably be by Shiki's side. So far, it's only a minor inconvenience, but soon it impossible to even walk down a wide road. Luckily, she'll never grow to even be near the gargantuan size of the battle dragons, but it'll still be a problem. Shini was actually the first to hear of the news of Starfall. However, she didn't pay much attention to it until Kami mentioned it. Kami attempted to convince Shini to leave the Drakes and go join Starfall but Shini refused, saying that they didn't know enough. A couple of weeks passed and more and more information started leaking in about Starfall and it's leader, Ferron. This news simply convinced Kami even more that they should go and check it out. Shini, also intrigued by the call for peace, finally relented and agreed to sneak out with Kami. Making sure that they wouldn't get caught, which was even harder for Shini and Kami since Kami was a dragon, something that the Drakes weren't fond of losing and something that is very hard to sneak out. In the middle of a message run that came close to Goodwill, Shini slipped a sleeping poison into the drink of the other messenger team who was accompanying them when the group stopped to rest for the night, Keepers traveled in groups to ensure that neither of the Keepers tried to run off. After the other team fell asleep on the ground under the influence of the drug, Shini and Kami quietly slipped off and flew towards Goodwill, arriving there safely in the middle of the night. Kami and Shini understand each other through the mutual understanding between Keeper and dragon that every team has.
