Thursday, February 18th, 2010 -- Picked a solid Guardian, just in time for the contest. Took down a Fel Essence concept as it was too similar to an existing Essence.
Monday, December 14th, 2009 -- Started quest thread, uploaded information on Souls and did the basic concept ideas for Fel Essence post.

~~Fel Essance Concepts ~~ All of the things stated here are basic outlines, and are not yet fully developed, so instead of descriptions, I wrote basic idea's about said Essence as well as any problems I may see. Tangible Tension *Concept revolves around the phrase 'Tension so thick I could cut it with a knife' * A taffy like consistency that allows it to be smushed inside a vial. * Tension was high during the Storm and solidified. Wall of Fog * Similar in concept to Tangible Tension * A bit difficult to fit into a bottle... * Needs to be further thought out...

~~Soul Concepts~~~ Re'emEncyclopedia Mythica Many monsters were created on the Sixth Day, some destroyed during the Flood, some still with us. The re'em is described as a giant even among these strange animals. At any given time, only two exist, one male and one female, because had more of them existed, the world could not support them. No one is certain what the re'em looks like. The sources describe him as fierce, fast, and indomitable. Scholars argue about the number of his horns, some say he has one, like a unicorn or a rhinoceros. Some say two, and he could be related to the giant aurochs (Bos primigenius), a species of a wild ox that became extinct during the sixteenth century. On the other hand, he may be a purely mythological creature, based on the bas-reliefs of the huge Mesopotamian and Egyptian beasts that were unquestionably familiar to the Jews of the Talmudic era.
The re'ems live at the opposite ends of the earth, one in the east, the other in the west, and for seventy years never see each other -- until the day of their mating. Finally they meet, mate once, and then the female kills the male with one bite.
The female becomes pregnant, and her pregnancy lasts for twelve years. During the last year she cannot walk, only role from side to side, and she survives only because her saliva waters the earth around her sufficiently to produce enough vegetation for her support. Instead of giving birth, her stomach bursts open and she dies instantly. However, twins are born, one male and one female. They get up immediately and wander away, one to the east, one to the west.
During the flood, when Noah collected all the animals into the arc, the re'ems came to join the procession. However, because of their giant size, they could not fit into the arc. Yet Noah saved them. One version claims he tied them behind the arc, and they followed it by running and later by swimming. Another version tells that the flood happened just as the young re'ems were born, so they were small enough to fit in the arc.
King David had an encounter with a re'em. When David was still a simple shepherd, he saw a sleeping re'em and thought it was a mountain. He started climbing it, and the re'em woke up and lifted David on his gigantic horns. David vowed that if God saved his life, he would build Him a temple, a building as high as the re'em himself. God heard him and sent a lion. As the lion is the king of the beasts, the re'em bowed to him by prostrating himself on the ground, and David could descend from the horns. Then God sent a deer, and the lion started chasing her. So David was saved from both the lion and the re'em Wikipedia Mongooses (Herpestidae) are a family of about 30 species of small carnivorans from southern Eurasia and mainland Africa. Mongooses live in southern Asia, Africa, and southern Europe, as well as some Caribbean and Hawaiian islands, where they are introduced species. There are more than thirty species, ranging from one to four feet in length. Some species of mongoose lead predominantly solitary lives, seeking out food only for themselves, while others travel in groups, sharing food among the members of the group. Mongooses mostly feed on insects, crabs, earthworms, lizards, snakes, chickens, and rodents. However, they also eat eggs and carrion. Some species, such as the Indian Mongoose, are popularly used to fight and kill venomous snakes, including cobras. They are capable of doing this because of their agility and cunning, and their thick coat, but typically avoid the cobra and have no particular affinity for consuming its meat. Mongoose range in size from the squirrel-sized Common Dwarf Mongoose, at 280 g (9.9 oz), to the cat-sized White-tailed Mongoose, at 4 kg (8.8 lb).
Some species of mongoose are quite intelligent and can be taught simple tricks, which has led to a number of them being domesticated, often kept as pets to control vermin. However, they can be more destructive than desired: when imported into the West Indies to kill rats and snakes, they destroyed most of the small, ground-based fauna. For this reason, it is illegal to import most species of mongoose into the United States,Australia, and other countries. Mongooses were introduced to Hawaii in 1883, and have had a significant effect on native species.
The mongoose emits a high pitched noise, commonly known as giggling, when it mates. The giggling is also a form of courtship when this animal is choosing a mate.

Most are brindled or grizzled; few have strongly marked coats. They have non-retractile claws that are used primarily for digging. Mongooses, much like goats, have narrow, ovular pupils. Most species have a large a**l scent gland, used for scent marking of territories, and signaling reproductive status. The dental formula of mongooses is similar to that of viverrids:

Mongooses also have receptors for acetylcholine that, like the receptors in snakes, are shaped so that it is impossible for snake neurotoxin venom to attach to them. Research is being done to determine if similar mechanisms protect the mongoose from hemotoxic snake venoms.
The mongoose has a similar appearance to the weasel, despite not being closely related. This could be explained by the lifestyles they both have. Their long sleek bodies and short fur can come down to living in similar climates and burrowing underground. They also have short legs and tails that are like a weasel's. However this is not due to having evolved along similar lines of phylogeny. It can be explained as survival adaptations to their surroundings.

LIKES : Technology (primarily cell phones and computers), social outings, her work, children, bittersweet memories, people who remind her of her deceased stepmother, home cooked meals.
DISLIKES : Her father, those who refuse to accept responsibility for their actions, slobs, takeout food (she’s had enough to last her a lifetime thanks), black licorice, child abuse of any kind, being taken advantage of.
LOOKS :
Francine is five-foot-seven inches and is the average healthy weight for an active woman her age. Straight, chestnut brown hair reaches her mid-back and parts to the left side of her face, and is roughly two shades lighter than her eyes. Francine prefers clothing that reflects her status as a well to do single woman, and is partial to black and white over colors. Aside from the occasional pair of earrings and matching necklace, Franny prefers to avoid accessories. She comes off as confident and self assured, though her soft expressions and kind, motherly aura makes her appear more approachable.
PERSONALITY :
Francine is a mellow and relaxed woman who seems to radiate charisma out of every pore in her body. Seemingly wired into the town she seems to be the go too girl if one is looking for facts. The spreading of gossip and rumors happens to be one of the few things that she seems to generally dislike, along with people who seem to believe that one cannot influence change in their life through their own actions and she tries her hardest to ensure the former is prevented by supplying correct information.
Generally a dependable woman, Francine takes her responsibilities both as a lawyer and caretaker very seriously. Stressing the importance of social bonds and the positive aspects of life, she is a happy person despite the challenging life she has led. She hates being reminded that she comes from a bad background, but looks back at the positive moments with a sense of fondness. She does seem to hold a fierce hatred for her father however, for obvious reasons.
Despite having an incredibly long fuse, on the rare occasion that she is irritated enough she becomes a whole different person. The usually logical and intelligent woman becomes blinded by her emotions, leading to actions and words that would otherwise have never been said or done. The guilt she feels the morning after often distracts her from work, more often than not lasting for a good four or five days before she ultimately has the guts to attempt an apology.
HISTORY :
The sole daughter and oldest of two children, Francine’s life could hardly have been considered one of comfort and normality. Her birth mother, the first wife of an infamous playboy by the name of Ralst Christopher, died shortly after delivering infant Francine into the world. Her father wasted no time in marrying another woman, a sweet and gentle gardener by the name of Janice who raised Francine like her own daughter, even after the birth of her own son Reni fourteen years later.
Academically and socially Francine was the top of her class, graduating as her class’s valedictorian and with a full scholarship to the collage of her choice. Fate however was not on her side, as three months after graduation from high school Janice fell ill with a fatal illness. Her father, unable to cope with the death of his second wife and the only woman he truly loved disappeared, leaving Francine to raise her little brother on her own and ultimately taking the next fourteen years of her freedom.
Francine was smart however, and used the resources she had access to in her jobs to complete her education. Sure she didn’t graduate from a prestigious collage like she should have, but a degree is a degree. With her brother away in collage himself now, Francine finally has time to dedicate to her work and social life. She does however seem to miss the responsibility associated with caring for another being and has been considering taking in another child.
