Brothers and Sisters,
You all may know me, some of you do not. For those who do not, I will make this introduction for you. My name is Benjamin Resnick. Founder of Halo : The RP. The greatest Halo roleplay on Gaia today. The guild founded on not only an amazing game, but friendship as well.
Five years ago I created this roleplay. And to this day it has amazed me with the members it brings into its doors. People create roleplays to make stories, and expand on already made tales. I myself created this roleplay for one thing: Friendship.
Throughout these five years, I have met my best friends through this guild. I have accepted them as my brothers, my family and I have never met them. They are from every corner of the United States. In fact some across the globe. We have suffered hardships, triumphs, and witnessed as the one thing that forged our friendship grew into what it is today.
Which brings me to this announcement. Why am I coming to you today telling you about these facts? The answer is simple: because I want the purpose of this guild to be remembered through generations to come. I have seen people come into this guild, not knowing anyone, and still thrive today with many friends and a greater understanding of roleplaying. Myself being one of those people, I want each and every one of you to remember the foundation of this guild was not just for the sport of roleplaying, but to create a bond with your fellow guildmates stronger than Titanium-A Plating on the Pillar of Autumn.
Today, Monday, December 14th 2009 at 3:37:12am I, Benjamin Resnick step down as Captain of Halo The Roleplay for the final time. I step down from 5 years of triumph, to hand you; the new generation, my legacy. A legacy that I hope will be remembered for another 5 years. In fact, a legacy that I hope will live on in each and every one of you. A legacy that says: "No matter what the distance. No matter what the circumstances. A friendship can be made anywhere... even in a guild on Gaiaonline."
In many ways this guild has saved my life numerous times. It has given me hope, strength, and the knowledge that out there in the world there are people who do have kindness, and that are willing to build a friendship, no matter what the distance. I hope this guild saves you some how...
I am gone as a Captain, but I will forever remain in the heart of my first and most sucsessful Roleplay. I will forever remain its number one supporter, and I will continue to help it move forward onto new horizons... and crafting new friendships.
Taking my chair as Captain will be Sexual Tendancies. She is a hard worker, an outstanding Roleplayer and I would like to recognize her for stepping up to the plate of being my temporary replacement during my absence. This is in rewards to all of your hard work, you have earned it to the highest regard.
I would also like to recognize the current Crew. I would like to thank you for your hard work; and honor you with my word of praise. Though it is not much, but you have honestly helped my dream of keeping the guild alive possible. Thank you again for all your hard work.
And my final regards to the original HTRP HIGHCOM. The fine gentleman who helped craft the guild into what it is today. Who stuck by me no matter what. No matter if I was in the trenches out of ammo, or I was dealing with a hard breakup. OOC or IRL, they continue to be my leading role models to this day. They are my brothers. And I am forever gratful for them entering my life.
