Well hey there, designers!
B O O O O
Great to have you aboard! In all of the excitement, it's possible that our designers may feel a bit left out, or unimportant compared to the actors and the power heads. Let me be the first to tell you that that's BS. As designers, you are the creative engineers of this thing. You create the aesthetic that is going to draw the audience in, and we really need that! So, congrats for being here, and welcome! Before we can begin, we need to go over a few simple rules. Think you can handle that?
Rules // Follow 'Em
1. If you have a problem with anyone in the production, please refrain from personal attacks on that person. Don't even take it to PMs. We are a family, and we will not go down in ruins because of a petty argument. If you have a real problem with someone that needs to be dealt with, PM either myself, or any of the three power heads.
2. It goes without saying, but please follow the ToS.
3. If you are not a designer, please do not post in this sub-forum. You all have sub-forums specifically for you, so please post in them accordingly. If you have something you would like to say to a specific department that you are not a part of, please post in the main sub-forum.
4. Please be sure that in your brainstorming and creative genius, you are sure to keep the stage manager filled in. You guys are going to see a lot of each other, and it's imperative that we're all on the same page.
5. Please meet every deadline that you have committed to. As the designers, you are going to be put with the task of setting the stage, and having everything where it needs to be, when it needs to be there is crucial for efficient rehearsals with the actors. All blocking is going to be done around what you have laid out, so we need to make sure that it's there.
6. Make sure that everything you buy for the set is kept track of so that I can reimburse you to the total amount of what you paid for it.
*Note that we may just end up having you send me a list of everything needed, so that I can buy it directly. It depends on what's going on.
7. Be sure to include a backstage area for the actors to wait! We don't need them sitting out in plain daylight for the audience to see.
8. Have fun, damn you.
