It didn't take long for Bura to take disinterest in her son Opka. Clearly he was short and not growing fast. The pup found him self last at eating , last at everything.
But for some reason it didn't fase him to bad. He seemed to not mind for what ever reason.
Maybe thats why he was off on his own now picking at an old kill that was nothing but bones.

Addae was following his nose across the savanah. He had been hunting, but in this latest area he's caught another scent. Something unfamiliar yet familiar at the same time. Jackals, he was sure of it. Not anyone he'd met before, but there were several of them. Two females and... pups? He looked around.

Opka chewed at a small bone like he had never chewed before. His teeth gnashed so fast and hard on the bone. It wasn't long til the little bone snapped.
Opka didn't stop though. The pup continued to lick at the small scrap and suck on the marrow.
He had no clue a little whiles off was another wandering jackal.

The crack of the bone caught his attention and his ears perked up, swivling in the direction of the sound.
He hesitated, then sighed. Well the adults in the group both seemed to be female so it was worth the investigation at least, wasn't it? He crept forward, belly close to the ground.

Still the small pup chewed and licked and slurped on the bone. He was determined to get everything he could out of these remains. In all truth he was burning more energy then getting what he craved from all this effort. It was like eating celery in a since.
But that idea hadn't dawned on the pup as he worked away on the small remains. It also hadn't dawned on him to maybe try looking for another means of food.

Opka nearly jumped out of his pelt. He hadn't known that there had been another so close. His first instinct was to cower. Opka was submissive.
"Wh-What do you want?" He huddled a little farther away from the stranger and laid over the bone he had been slurping on.

This was fortunate. If the pup could confirm his suspicions he might have a shot at settling down here. If he was lucky, maybe he'd have a shot at starting a family
here.

Opka's trusting nature crept over him and he shook his head no in response. Their was no male that he could speak of. He was the only boy of the pack that he knew of.
"N-no," He stuttered some.

Fairly sure they were sisters. The smells were similar enoguh, and, well, if they wern't the pup would tell him now. It would be a bit of work, but damn it all he was ready for a mate!
He smiled at the pup, showing nothing but friendlyness.

1/3:"An aunt is indeed a mommy's sister!" the stranger grinned. "You're the only male about here arn't you young man?"
He lifted his head and looked out over the plains. If a pup was here his mother and aunt should be nearby. With any luck they'd show up soon. If they did he'd take his chances and play submissive just to see where that got him.

His tail was wagging so fast . He hoped mother liked the gift he was bringing home. For some reason Bura always gave him the cold shoulder. Opka didn't understand it but he wanted to make her happy. This would make her happy right?

Either way he seemed like a good kid. If the family was half as friendly as him he'd have an easy time of it.

Now was the moment of truth, Bura was inside with the other pups.
"Wait here and I'll get her." The pup disappeared into the den. A loud high pitched yip followed and out came a rather pissed dark female with red eyes. This was Bura.
