i know i don't really post on here all that much but i decided to finally come back(or rather was looking at my guild list and finally remembered that i was a part of this forum) to give you fair warning to NEVER-NEVER-NEVER use the new LFG set up on a weekend. it can only end in tears and astronomical repair bills.
now, originally, i had ho idea why people were bashing the new system, it got me into dungeons more frequently than it did back in the old server-based searching and you get a crap-ton of triumph emblems gets you into higher-end gear faster to make your damage output so insane that no one ever has right to call you a huntard when you were the only one attacking the healers in H-UP and you STILL downed them faster alone than the others did one of the two melee trash that they were so focused on for some reason. and i never really had a horrible group. no body took anything all that seriously and laughed it off when something odd happened like when i accidentally disengaged off of the Occulus or when a healer decided it would be fun to punch Anub'arak in the face when he was doing pound. always had a good time of it all...
but, yesterday and today i've finally seen why people dislike it so much. the overall quality of the groups plummets to the ground like a ******** asteroid. now i'm not talking about skill, though yes there is a lot of people in the random search lacking in that(hell i was doing H-HoS, my first time ever doing that instance, and i was the only one who realized that it's usually a good idea NOT to stand in the giant black pits in the ground at the first boss fight) but more in a general demeanor. everyone is so on-edge and it leads to plenty of rage quitting and tons of drama that makes to want to put your head through the monitor just so you dont have to look at the wall of hate-text anymore.
all i know is that i did Occulus on thursday and it was HORRIBLE, not the group the instance.... i really hate Occulus, but no one really got too pissy. we all knew it was going horribly and we still tried having fun with it even though we ended up calling it due to invisible whelps killing us constantly and general hate, all around, of the instance.
Yesterday, did UP on normal and everyone ended up ragequitting because we weren't killing everything as quickly as the tank and healer wanted so they started getting real belligerent. i dont know if it's just the weekends or that i was one of the few people that were lucky enough to not have a crappy group and that luck ran out over the weekend, but either way i dont think i'll be using the DF system til tomorrow.

but, all crap aside, i really love the system. especially when you consider the first instance i ever ran was Magisters Terrace and that was a week before Lich dropped because i am on a server full of stuck-ups and elitists who think that if you dont have a dps rating of the highest caliber that you have no sense in being in a dungeon run-an insanely stupid concept when you realize that the only way to GET to such a high caliber IS TO ******** RUN DUNGEONS... something you cant do because your dps isnt high enough(i dont know, maybe they just have it in there to weed out bots, seeing as how such an illogical statement would make any automaton's explode)-and here i was able to experience all three of the ICC instances(will be trying for the raids when i get back from holiday) within 2 hours of the patch coming live... well two hours of servers coming back online at least.
and now i'm sitting on a two-set of the intro level t9 armor and a slew of wondrous drops form Hall and Pit(still need that ******** helmet TcT) and VERY respectable damage output, and it's all thanks to the new dungeon system.

I think you just had bad luck with the groups, I had no real problems, aside from the group where the tank and healer both were stoned...but that's what you get for trying to run an instance at 2.30 am....

I do wish the LFG finder would be a little less random.
My main is geared well enough for ICC-10 and TotC-25, so is flexible for whatever dungeon she winds up in. My alt though is a fairly new level 80 healer, and while he does okay at the original heroics and ToC-5, he really isn't ready for the Icecrown ones and has to keep getting booted. sad

yeah, sucks trying to bring a fresh face into the newer heroics. in the old system it wasnt so bad since you just pic three and stalk /2 til you find a dungeon you can help with. its why i liked wintergrasp. i know everyone who has a stick up their a** about pvp/pve will crucify me about this, but pvp gear is actually pretty good for oc-wrath heroics. all my 80's have a good deal of pvp gear thanks to wintergrasp and AV that lead to them not sucking horribly in heroics. hell, i was so pleased the moment i realized my main actually had two specs, pvp and pve it took me to realize how sad it was that i actually HAD two specs
though it might be different for healers, though, cause damage classes and healing classes are way different and pvp tends to lean on more damage than more healing output

My server has the same problem your's has, if you don't have over 5k dps then you can't get into heroics to get better gear to get the 5k dps. Also, this whole frozen orbs issue is stupid. On my server we need them and will continue to do so. Stormscale may earn bad ninja rep but we don't care. Then entire server has agreed to not change our ways.

Then entire server has agreed to not change our ways. when my brother convinced me to switch to his server(which was n rp server, something i wasnt too fond of) it had one of hte worst economies i had ever seen. AND I JUST CAME FROM ******** THRALL!! seriously ******** econ over there so when i say its back you should understand the weight of that. took me 2 weeks to crash the economy, primals selling for 3 gold a pop, blues selling for less then the stuff they dchant into, stacks of ancient lichen selling for 10g(REALLY cheap in context). took a good deal of work and got my entire guild to help me in the endeavor. if im off it for more than a week it tends to inflate something sick again. but all that ive been able to do to that, i still havent been able to fix the horrible concept of gear ratings. its like it's set in their dna to be elitist ********. maybe i need to join a bigger guild and see if there'd be strength in numbers. but, goddamn it, i will bring down that facet of the server's set-up as well. somehow. and frozen orbs arent even wanted on ours anymore, everyone's going ape of crusaders atm.

For instance, my friend is still in mostly blues (although they are ilvl 200) and therefore can't group for the ICC 5-mans. Perhaps your gear is better than you thought on your healer, or there are other things why you get booted.

I actually only had my first really bad group yesterday. I had run the new system on my mage, priest, druid, and shaman, and enjoyed the experience. Zoned in on my pally, to find a group all from te same server, which looked at me, said "oh noes greens" and left.

I've only had two real issues so far.
1. The random person who's all, "OMG WE NEED TO PICK UP DPS OR WE'LL BE IN HERE FOREVER," when the lowest dps is about 2.9k. Shut the ******** up, fifteen minutes in a dungeon is nothing.
2. People who don't follow the kill order in H HoR. How the ******** are you going to tell me that the hunter takes priority over the priest?

Agreed. These are the only two real issues we've (boyfriend and I) have been
having in the new LFG. Theres always the ******** who wants to boot people out
because they have 2.8k dps and keeps pushing the "Vote to Kick" option.
Most defintely people get confused in in the H HoR dungeon. >.> I usually ask a fried or two to come with us (I'm heals, he's tank and we find groups instantly).
I guess another issues I would add, though not as important, are the ninja'ers - its uncommon on our battlegroup, but you still have the ******** that ninja need the frozen orb and /leave party.. thats annoying - at least there is the /ignore button - though I have no idea if it works cross-server and withholds that person from joining group.
OVERALL - I like the new dungeon system, Fast-quick heroics.
We've only gotten into two groups thus far outta god knows how many that have had people pull under my tank.... and he's usually pushing 2.2k dps as a tank. But so far, so good.

It is due to people who have a gearscore addon and tell me to leave the moment I enter the instance. I'm cool with that since I'm still learning my healing buttons, but it's still a pain when they get rude. My gear is steadily getting better though, so I'll be caught up in no time. 3nodding

I with the whole LESS RANDOM thing considering I've gotten HoL-H almost every single time I've done the daily random, and one group I got into this morning had FOUR PRIESTS, 3 shadow and a healer. Seriously lol. One of my guildmates also ended up in a 5 paladin group last night.
Less random...please...

Tank DPS and Heals it fills the slots. You want less random dont use the thing.
