The snow fell languidly over the quiet expanse of the park. Despite the frigid cold and the dark grey clouds that stretched endlessly overhead, the playground was inhabited by a single soul who had ventured out. Not a sound emanated from the girl who sat perfectly still, as though frozen to the swing she rested upon. The only sign that the lonely looking figure was even among the living was a delicate wisp of breath that stood out against the snowflakes.
As to why she'd come out on this particular day was a mystery, even to her, but the sloth child had felt restless in her home and couldn't seem to find any solace in sleep. Perhaps it was reverse hibernation, or perhaps just a need for a familiar place. After all, she could remember this park and the hill she'd lain on, gazing up at the clouds so many months ago. That seemed so far away now. She wondered if it had even happened, or was it just a dream that she'd come up with. Either was plausible, but regardless, she was comfortable and quiet on the swing, her head resting against the silver chains as she fell into a shallow doze, listening to the wind and whisper of winter.

Shylock wore a full black bodysuit, boots gloves and a scarf as he hopped off the bus, heading for the park. The boy was mostly just out for a walk since he needed to be around people who weren't his family for a while. The boy loved them to death but after the baby had arrived, things had gotten even more hectic and he couldn't help needing a break now and then.
As the boy walked along, wind blowing his minty bangs, the child thought he spotted someone familiar. Heading over towards the swings, he smiled. "Hey Mim." the pride boy greeted, waving a little.

The voice caused her to start, if very slowly, and she peered up at who had called her. At first she wasn't sure who the boy was. The last memory she'd had of him had involved significantly less clothing, but than again, that had been months ago when the cold hadn't yet gripped the world. Realizing who he was brought a smile to her features and she beckoned him to sit with her on the next swing, the lengthy tail curling around the silver suspension as the tip wavered in the wind and she softly greeted him, ". . .`Lo."

He took the swing she indicated and smiled a bit, stretching his tail out to poke her's in a friendly manner. "Hey, what's up? You seem a bit down." he asked his friend. Or maybe she was just tired - it was winter afterall and lots of people and things wanted to hibernate.
