Winner's dark hide melded almost perfectly with the shadows cast upon the ground by the forest tree's, it was a fact he'd learned to bring to his advantage and today had been no exception. The dark hued wolf had forsaken the shadows he'd used for hunting in favor of a sun dappled clearing here the limited warmth of the fall day might sink into his fur while he enjoyed his meal. Bones broke with sharp cracks as the male's powerful jaws manipulated them about so that he might find the rich marrow contained within.
It had been a while since the pack wars had separated him from the rest of his home pack...but Winner had never minded being on his own too terribly much, even as a teen he'd been fairly independent and now that he was an adult well...it was nice to do what one wanted without having to deal with the troublesome thoughts of others - especially that do good failure Hero, always bumbling about and yammering on about what was 'right' and what was 'wrong'. Yes it was certainly nice to be rid of him he thought to himself as he licked his chops.

She was angry. She had been chosen over, and her mind could not get over the rejection. She had thought herself a grand oppurtunity, but that being said, Mog had been quite more what Chern was looking for. She was happy for Mog, in her own way. And she had the utmost respect for her now, Specially with her having obtained the Alpha position.
Her mind was reeling however, as now she needed a new game plan. She was not the type to sit back and let life go on as it was. She needed something that made her an asset to the pack. But what would that be anyway? She was already a head warrior. Chern valued her skills in most everything. Even in training the brat Rumor. Of course, Rumor had begun to be more independant, though she seemed to forever be the ward of the Older female. Static had not asked for the position, but demanded to take it. She had done so dutifully, and proudly. Though she regretted having been chosen for something like that. Being responsible for something so livewire as Rumor was not what Static had in mind.
But here she stood, away from her packlands, but only barely. She had needed a walk, and she had needed to be away from the pressure of her place.
Her tail flicked to the side, and she yawned. Her mind still racing in thought.

Having finished taking what he liked from the rabbit carcass he'd been snacking on Winner stood and stretched , shaking his fur to rid it of any loose debris which might have gathered - never hurt to look your best after all. Kicking what remained of the rabbit under a tree for the scavengers to take care of, you had to love nature sometimes the wolf thought to himself...cleaning up after him and everything.
Without much of a thought about anything else the male strolled off into the woods, he wasn't attempting to be particularly stealthy at the moment but even so his steps were light and quick as she slipped through the trees with no clear destination in mind. It was as he was passing a rotting log that he caught a flash of color out of the corner of his gaze, slowing his head swung about to see what it had been.
When he caught sight of the female he sprang off the nearest tree trunk in a quick change of direction and sauntered in her direction, the gold fur along his neck standing up like a ridge between his ears, she didn't look very pleased - at least by what he could tell at first glance.
"Why Hello" He greeted her as he slowed to a stop nearby, his yellow eyes appraising her quickly, weather it was the measure of her capability he was looking at or her look however were up in the air.

She wasnt pleased at all, and the attention of another male was likely to send her off the deep end. She couldnt stand the thought of being with another.. Especially if everyone was so finicky and could flip flop ideas within seconds. She didnt like being hurt, and she never would be. She was Static, after all.. The danger of the forest, or at least thats how she viewed herself.
Her snarl grew on her maw as she looked up to the other who had spoken. She cursed herself for not hearing him approaching until now. But she had been preoccupied, and safety had not yet crossed her mind.
She was quite capable of hurting him, quite capable of the desire to snap his neck for speaking to her. But she was hurting right now, and attacking someone else would likely kill them. She was furious, though she felt like taking a deep breath, more than actually tearing into someone.
The growl stayed plastered to her maw. Her eyes were angry, but she did not let them show true viciousness.
"Hello."

No she was most definitely displeased Winner told himself as he caught her furious gaze and while most might have backed off a bit before such a display, Winner was fairly confident in his abilities. Some might say over confident but Winner didn't see it that way and he meet her snarl with a level look, the black mask of his face furrowing slightly as he pondered what it was that had upset her. Not that he really cared - to try and puzzle it out would require far more thinking then he could be bothered to do, and frankly ? Females were fickle - moon only knew what had set this particular one off.
It didn't really concern him, though it might concern his interaction with this female. Winner wasn't about to let her snarls and angry eyed look bully him into a quick retreat - though he mused it would probably send that coward Hero running like a scared pup - and to prove that he wasn't intimidated he lowered himself to his haunches...but was careful to keep his muscles ready for a quick spring to action should it be called for, which he hoped would indicate that while he wasn't frightened of her - he certainly respected her. Well...at least her ability to do damage.

She was a lithe creature. Made of muscle and bulk that seemed to flow gracefully under her striking pelt. She was a gorgeous female, and she had always known it. It just wasnt her thing, to let that get to her head. She hated flimsy wolves. Death, would make you ugly, no matter who you were.
"Do you think?" She asked, ehr tone dripping with sarcasm as she did her best not to roll her eyes. She hated obvious remarks. What was the first thing that tipped him off?
"Youre lucky I'm pissed off, but not in a killing mood. If that were the case, Im afraid this meeting would be far different."
She mused, and looked him over with a quick glance. He was an odd color, and his markings were..odd. He was strange through and through, and she couldnt help but follow his markings along his body. She had never seen markings such as his.. Though some said the same of her own pelt.
