I'm kind of freaking out over here now... I think Arianna dropped last night because I have started to get this sharp pressure eeling about even with my pelvic bone with a slight throb of pain.

If she has dropped then does that mean I am going to have her soon? Her EDD isn't for another month (she is due Jan. 11)

The baby will usually "drop" ( called lightening) around the 36th week...give or take. Generally when lightening happens the baby actually feels LIGHTER the stomach gets softer feeling at top and more dense at bottom, there may be less of a need to urninate and less pelvic pain. Because your baby is finally sitting DOWN where she SHOULD be in the pelvic seat instead of sitting around on TOP of it.

If what you are feeling is an increase in pressure this does not necessarily mean the baby has dropped but may be due to increased blood flow and congestion in the area. An increased sensation of pressure usually occurs with second and subsequent babies.

Lightening does not necessarily mean the baby will be early, but it is important to mention this change in pressure to your health care provider just in case.

Also, just because the baby has "dropped" does not mean they are "engaged". Engages is when they stretch out their neck and put their head directly onto your cervix.

So...since you are at 35 weeks or thereabouts it's possible she's dropped.

Walt dropped in month 7, and when I was born, I dropped early too.

If the baby goes heads down early, it really doesn't mean much except they're excited to see you!

I am experiencing the EXACT same things.

when she hiccups I feel a soft steady thumb just along my pelvic line and I keep getting these really sharp pains around my right leg joint and she just loves to put her feet up under my ribs and it makes me have to lay down.

I hope she decides to make her appearance soon... I have a feeling she has booked an extra week at hotel mommy though...<_<
