It wasn't sitting right with him. Yes, Weylyn said he was okay with it, but it still didn't set right. Apparently he had lied. The blue eyed Maine Coon did not like the idea of his partner being with another girl. He just didn't like sharing. Sure, they weren't together, but they were often together. It was a weird relationship they had.

His ears flicked as he ran a hand through his hair, eyes down cast, hiding in his bangs and the freckles that splattered his round face. He wasn't the best looking one around, but he wasn't bad, right? So what made her want to be with someone other than him? Jean clad legs stretched out on the swing as he raised his face to the clouded sky. Rain was a promise in the air, but he didn't care. Licking his lips carefully, he gripped the chains that held the swing and let out a huge sigh, tail flicking this way and that.

"Did I not give enough affection? Not enough attention?" He murmured to himself, giving a frustrated growl. Love? He'd given up on it now. That is why he knew he shouldn't have picked a partner. He should have stuck with flirting. Now he was suffering a heartache like he'd known only once before; when his human had died. He felt like crying over it. He had to break it off with her, for his sanity. Weylyn couldn't even stand the thought of her being with someone else.

Quietly a female short hair made her way through the thick piles of leaves that covered the ground everywhere in the park. Tucked under one arm was a old leather bound sketchbook and slung over her shoulder was a bag full of supplies, something she almost always had with her. A Mona Lisa smile warmed her face, almost masking how freezing she must have been in the light clothing she usually wore.

Gwin’s ears flickered when the sound of softly clanking chains drew her attention. A boy, or at least a cat a bit younger then her sat on a swing, a air of melancholy wrapped around him like a thick blanket. Even though it was something most people would avoid, the female found herself infatuated with the scene. It was perfect for a painting, if only he would allow her to do a few sketches; that would at least get Alice off her back about her wanderings.

Quietly she sat on a bench across from the swing and set her tools of trade down, and drew her knees to her chin watching the boy. Perhaps he would leave his revere and she would be able to ask if she could do a portrait of him, and possibly wipe some of that melancholy away.

He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings. He was slowly swinging himself back and forth but keeping his feet firmly placed on the ground. With a heavy sigh, Weylyn looked to the side and frowned deeper, ears flicking this way and that as thunder rumbled in the distance. It wouldn't be too much longer before it would pour on them. "When it rains... it pours." His voice was low and sad, almost a rumble like the thunder.

His thick tail flicked again and he got up, shoved his hands in his pockets and finally looked around. A brilliant flash of color caught his attention and made him blink a bit. Who was this? Whatever. It was another female, so he shouldn't bother. He'd given up on all of it right now. But he was still intrigued by her. Her hair, her face, that smile? She looked like a painting. She looked as curious as he felt.

Weylyn was about to walk away, but he paused again and looked over his shoulder. "What are you doing out here with that thin outfit?"

Gwin’s smile widened at the boy, obviously oblivious to the first glance. The cold hadn’t really registered to her until he had mentioned it. Her body gave an involuntary shiver.

“I’m looking for inspiration.” Gwin waved a hand over the sketchbook and bag. “I was wondering if you would sit for me actually, but you seemed busy.” The American Short Hair watched the leaves fall from a nearby tree, seemingly in a different world.

“Besides, when there’s a rain storm, it’s the best time to sit and think about what it is you need most in your life. Why wouldn't someone enjoy being out in one? And why is it your out at the moment? You seem to me the type that gets depressed with the rain.” The female seemed a bit upset by her own words, but she knew it was true. Gwin had lost her family the night of a rainstorm, but that was a very long time ago. Now all she had to do was think of what she wanted or needed to do next, or if she needed to do anything at all.

She wanted him to sit for her? He glanced down at her sketchbook and a frowned yet again. Why did she want to paint him in all his grumpiness. He knew he wasn't a very happy looking cat right now. Crossing his arms over his chest, Weylyn studied her. Now her words made little sense to him and she looked upset herself. He rolled those pretty blue eyes of his and ran a hand through his hair.

"Look. I actually like the rain. 's no why I'm depressed, OK? As for sitting for you? I don't know who you are, so why would I do that?" His tail whipped behind him and his voiced sounded more than annoyed. Why should he? She had no right to even ask him! But, he looked at her and then sighed deeply. He shouldn't snap at her because he was in pain. That wasn't fair to anyone, especially a female.

And.. she was kind of cute. But he didn't feel like flirting. "Sorry.... I didn't mean to snap.." he said quietly, seeming to shrink in himself. "I just... Something my partner told me isn't sitting well. I'm upset by it." He wouldn't spill his guts to a total stranger. He knew better than that, but that should satisfy her for the moment. He hoped.

Gwin watched the other struggling with his emotions, it wasn’t something that really fazed her, or at least emotions didn’t send her packing as quick as it might another. It was all a game of catch and release. A mysterious smile flitted across her face as she shrugged a shoulder lightly.

“I don’t like to take advantage of people, especially when they seem to be in pain, but their pain, their emotion is beautiful to me… its our very essence, or soul peeking through. ” Gwin surveyed the male in front of her with her mismatched eyes, a simple curiosity and nothing ore peeking through her rainbow bangs. The female wouldn’t probe, or question what it was that was bothering the other so much, but if he wanted to talk about it she made it clear she was all ears.

Gwin shivered involuntarily as it began to sprinkle and the first drop landed on her arm which already had tons of goosebumps. She clutched her sketchbook and tools of the trade to her chest sighing inwardly, wishing for hotcoco and a blanket…. Calming things.

His eyes watched her carefully, his heart aching so bad at wanting to be nice to her and wanting to shelter himself from the pain that was overflowing. Since the drizzle had started, he let the tears escape, rolling down his freckled cheeks and a hitched sob came from him as a roll of low thunder rumbled. He closed his eyes and squeezed the tears out, not wanting to show her he was crying. A sniffle and he looked up again, noticing her goosebumps and he nodded. She was cold like he was, and it was raining on top of it all.

Better jump now, or you'll never swim and get over the pain, he bereted himself, using a damp sleeve to dry his tears. "C-come with me... ..Out of the rain," his voice was horse from trying not to cry; he really, really didn't wan too. Something about this female made him want to spill his guts to her, to let her see his emotion and pain. He was mad at her already for saying his pain was beautiful. It wasn't. It was ugly and hurting him; eating him up on the inside. He wanted to take her by the shoulders and shake her until she felt just how frustrated he was with the world right now.

Instead, he turned around, hands in his pockets and started off towards one of the coffee shops that was near the park. His tail almost tucked between his legs; he didn't care if it got dirty. He had some money, he'd buy them both some coffee or something. He could use a good stiff drink, but that wasn't about to happen this early.

It wasn’t that hard to tell that the guy was crying. Everything about him seemed fragile in that moment, breakable… and above all unpredictable. He reminded her of spring, you never really could tell whether or not it was going to be sunny or pour. Gwin caught up easily, sliding her free arm into the crook of his and smiling happily. Everyday was a good day if she could meet someone that would be a potential friend.

It drove Alice mad.

She walked in silence for a bit, before a soft laugh left her lips, which turned into a full out laughter in what seemed like seconds. Yeah, she figured he would think she was raving freaking mad, but Gwin knew that laughter was contagious, and if he didn’t join in, someone would. It would cheer someone up, and that was all that mattered. The femme skipped in front of him, releasing his arm and twirled around, letting the soft falling rain sprinkle on her exposed skin. She was alive, they were alive and despite all opposition, they had to remain that way until they did all the good they could possibly manage.

Smile and laugh all you can, because even if it’s fake in that moment, it would be real eventually.

The laughter made him pause and stare at her with a look on his face that read she was crazy. Just what had he gotten himself into? Mentally cursing himself for finding a crazy female, Weylyn couldn't help but laugh a little bit as tears poured from his eyes. Odd. He didn't feel the need to cry, but now they weren't stopping. He turned away from her, trying to dry those shameful tears despite the rain pouring down on them now.

All at once it seemed he collapsed to the ground, hugging his knees and let out a heart wrenching sob. He thought he'd loved her, thought he was enough for her. But he wasn't. What should he do now? This was his first heartache for this kind of love, but not his first heart break. He was flashing back to his human and how he'd died. How he'd been treated before his human saved him; pumped full of all kinds of drugs in needles and pills and smoke.

He cried for his human. He cried for the loss of Mir. He cried because he fond himself laughing. It made no sense, but Weylyn couldn't stop it from happening. His body cried out for him to release what he'd been holding in for a while. And not just because of his break up with his lover. No, this was more than that. This ran deeper, the cut old and never healing. He put his hand to his throat, to the collar that wasn't there anymore. Abandoned once again, he was alone. But it was his choice this time. She hadn't made it. But she'd agreed.

A long time later, Weylyn had calmed down enough to where he wasn't sobbing uncontrollably, hiccuping every now and then.Would the odd female still be there? Had she comforted him? He didn't know. He was drenched, numb physically and mentally, hurting emotionally. Weylyn was a mess in more ways than imaginable right now.

Gwin stared at the boy, kinda taken aback by the sudden emotional…. Outburst? Breakdown? She had debated trying to comfort him, but Gwin knew the kind of pain he was in, until the attack was over he would have no connections with the outside world. She sighed to herself, crouching down next to the male, lifting his arm over her head and supporting his weight.

If Alice had issues with her taking people in she had another thing coming to her, Gwin always brought strays home. It was part of who she was. So she started trudging forward, vaguely noticing the time when he stirred from the melancholy lake he was drowning himself in. Home had a roof and hotcakes and hot chocolate, it wasn’t much… but with what just happened it had to be something better then this.

Either way, it was time to go home to the university, to her own secluded studio just off from the main activities. Painting was a serious thing, and she wouldnt be disturbed there... and hopefully neither would this male.

All he could do was follow her lead. He was numb and wanted to stay like that. If he closed off his heart for the rest of his life, he wouldn't have to go through the pain of losing someone else, right? So that was Weylyn's plans. With his head downcast, he was getting soaked, and so was she. The Mane Coon couldn't seem to find the energy to care.

What if I died tonight? Who would miss me, honestly? His thoughts went that direction, but he was suffering his first heartache, didn't everyone? Looking up at the rainbow banged female, he studied her face with glazed eyes. Really, he wasn't looking at her, he was looking at Mir. His lovely, shy little lover who.... was with another woman. That sent another pang to his heart and he trembled. From more than the cold.

"Don't bother with me," he said, tone completely defeated. "Just leave me here to freeze."

Gwin looked at him out of the corner of her eye and shook her head, her lips for the first time without a smile. She trudged onward, half carrying the male and all of her supplies until they got to the university. She wasn't sure how Alice would feel about having a stranger brought home to her territory so she snuck in very quietly, through the back to the game keepers shack that she usually stayed in. -she didn't know that Alice and Wey, were in fact friends.- The female set him down on the much used couch that the gamekeeper of the ruins had once slept on during his breaks. She liked being on the border between the two territories, it made her feel safer knowing that there were two places so closely linked right next to each other. The female smiled softly, her gaze running past all of the paintings stacked high with bright colors, and her paints now replacing the tools that had once dominated the shed before she had come here.

Alice had offered it to her as her studio, offered her a place to stay if she would only promise not to hurt her or her family. Gwin was honored just to be here, and if wey knew what was best for him he would get his head out of his a** and quit talking about ending his life. Walking to the small make-shift sink Gwin retrieved two glasses and began to make hot chocolate. Nothing better to warm the cockles of your heart eh?

"Im going to get one thing off my chest right now, so I don't have to deal with it again. If I even so much hear you utter a word about giving up about ending your life in my home I will turn you in to Alice and let her have her way with you. I've had enough death in my life and on my hands, Understand? You can stay here as long as you need to, just dont break that rule."

Alice. That name drew a grin on his face, though it wasn't a very big one. He knew her, well, he spoke with her for a while. "Alice..." His voice had picked up a little mirth to it, though not by much. He wanted to feel better. The warm air that had hit him when they got inside knocked feeling into his cheeks, coloring the once pale, freckled skin, into a nice red color.

Those odd blue eyes turned to look at Gwin as he finally got onto his own feet. He shouldn't end his life because of one bad relationship should he? A sigh left his lips as he nodded. Ending his life wouldn't be good.

"I'm.... I'm not usually..." He tried to explain, but his lips felt so numb. He needed something to drink and something warm to eat. He wanted to show this female that he could be a good boy.

The rainbow haired female smiled and shook her head "like this... I figured as much." Gwin ran a hand lightly through her hair, fluffing it lightly. "I think if I thought you were like this all the time I wouldn't have brought you home." She shrugged lightly, turning on the microwave and putting the two glasses in. When the soft whirling could be heard she went about trying to find something to eat. Gwin was almost never home, so there wasn't much there, she didn't like to be tied down, she liked wandering.

Turning around Gwin tossed a apple to the male and went over to her easel, unconsciously stirring her brushes in turpentine, and looking at the picture in progress. It was of Alice in mid motion, her dress flying up around her like some dark haired Marilyn Monroe. She smiled ideally, running a hand on the still unpainted portion of her hair and turned back to her guest. Seeing her work, seeing something worth doing made her happy. He was worth keeping alive too, whoever he was.

He took the apple and polished it on his wet shirt before frowning. Not caring if she minded it, he slipped his shirt off, set the apple on the table and found his way to her kitchen. There, he rung his shirt out from all the access water and he watched her wander. A little fleeting feeling of contentedness flitted through him, but it was squished quickly.

He left it in the sink and wandered back over to her, looking to the painting before she turned to him. "....You... paint really well," he said with a soft voice, pushing his hair out from his face. It was already curling, despite how wet it was. He had thick hair, after all. "I don't know if I introduced myself. ...My name's Weylyn.." He held out his hand to her for a shake. Normally he'd kiss a girl on the cheek, but he didn't feel like his old self.
