Lunchtime meant Virgo had a packet of poptarts. She sniped it and ran out the door, yelling that she was sorry over her shoulder to Hero and Aurelia; it wasn't that she didn't want to stay and help them. It was that she had to find and warn everyone who might not know about Sue and his Psychotic Episode.

Also, if she wasn't there, they couldn't ask that she henshin. If she didn't henshin in front of them, they couldn't see the big marks or the multiple bruises she was building up. At least her fuku was clean, free of the bloodstains from last time she fought with a zombie.

Speaking of zombies, there was another one now. One she didn't quite recognize, but one all the same.

She looked kind of lost.

"Hey," called Virgo, "Hey, are you okay?"

Aggie hadn't been having a good time as a zombie. No, in fact, she'd been having a downright crap time of it, and that was something else for the young girl who preferred to avoid swearing and 'bad words' at all costs.

She'd woken up sometime after the fire, disoriented and a lot greener than she ever remembered being before (this was slightly horrible, in the sense that the green sheen to her skin clashed horribly with her now rather dingy pigtails) and apparently utterly alone. It'd taken her a few hours to regain her wits and stop crying hysterically, and then she'd gone searching for any other (survivors?) students.

Which had been about the time she started to notice the hunger. The Hunger, because it deserved at least one capital letter if not more - everywhere she went, everything she thought of got twisted into thoughts of sweet, moist flesh, supple and sweet and so easy to tear into. Legs, stomachs, the fleshy bits on most people's upper-arms.. Aggie had never been particularly interested in other people's bodies or how they looked (or how chubby they were, oh my god, the thought of a well-grown beer-belly, ripe for the picking and large enough to feed a person for days, just waiting for you to take a bite and savour the rich, rich flavour of blood and guts and skin) but now.. Things were different. It was all she could think of, all the time, every moment of the day.

So she'd aborted the search. Well, 'aborted' was probably too decisive of a term - in truth she'd curled into a ball in the nearest corner and sobbed for hours. Her maps were ruined, she was all alone and all she could think about was eating people. Life sucked.
Finding Trace, or Imo, or Fallon, or anyone had been number one on her list of things to-do up until that moment, but Dagmar wasn't entirely sure that she wouldn't just have tried to eat them if she found them.

So she'd hidden herself away. Starved herself until she was nearly half-mad with hunger, and had been forced by instinct to find something to eat. Which had led her to one of the supply cabinets where she'd gorged herself on canned meat (but the Hunger, it didn't go away) until she'd been so bloated she could barely make her legs work. It never stopped. It never went away.

But maybe there was help! She hadn't seen anyone else yet, but surely there were others, surely! They'd practised fire-drills before, hadn't they? Someone had to have escaped! And maybe they weren't like her. Maybe this was just some sort of weird side-effect of the fire and going to the hospital could cure. Modern medicine was amazing, right? It was just a weird, awful, horrible eating disorder she'd never heard of before, and surely they could do something about that!

So for the last many hours she'd been trekking around the school, trying desperately to find a way out. All her knowledge, all her handy little maps, they'd deserted her and she was so lost, just like in all her nightmares..

And then there was a pretty girl in something that could've passed for a cute cocktail-dress. Wait, what?

"Wait, what?" Aggie blinked, bloodshot eyes standing out against the green pallor of her skin like two incredibly creepy bike-backlights. Had she.. had she finally lost it? Had she started to see things? (And why, of all the bloody things in the world, was she seeing this girl?)

And in the background of her mind, the Hunger pulsed, craving.

Quirm

Poor thing was in shock. That had to be it; she looked so confused and also were her eyes meant to be so read? Which ex-schoolmate was she looking at, anyway?... pigtails. She was sure it would come to her. Pigtails, pigtails, pigtails...

"Are you all right," she called again. She could run really fast; if things started to look dicey, she would run. Much as it hurt her to beat feet when someone needed her, she couldn't die. Princess before anything. Self-consciously, she covered the bitemarks on her shoulder with the other hand; stayed where she was just in case.
