Cavalier: Cavalier Anima, The Faultline
Name: Thorn Serafin (Yes, his parents were hippies. At least, when he was born. They later gave up and joined the rat race.)
Nicknames: p***k (Get it? Thorn? p***k? Yeah, he's surrounded by comedians.)
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Birthday: April 9
Sign: Aries
Blood Type: B
Fav. Food: Steak. (Preferably medium or medium-well, but he'll eat it overcooked or even charcoaled if he has to. Just not still bleeding.) Steak is a staple food - you can dress it up, dress it down, Thorn doesn't care as long as he gets his meat. His parents are still vegetarians, so this isn't something he gets to eat at home, only when eating out or with friends. This is his comfort food, and you do NOT get between a man and his steak.
Hated Food: Tofu and soy-based products. He can eat them - he was raised on that sort of crap, which is mostly why he hates it so much now that he's had 'better' food.
School: Sovereign Heights
Hobbies:
Street hockey: Or any sport with a stick/bat - except lacrosse, because lacrosse is gay. Thorn likes to beat things with sticks, and sport is the best excuse in the world for that. Street hockey is his favourite because rules (and padding) go out the window. There's nothing like the rush you get body slamming something out of the way, hacking at ankles (or knees... or higher) and eventually scoring a goal against an equally violent team. Adrenaline is the best drug there is, and it's all natural, baby.
Road Trip: Thorn likes getting out of the city and going different places. He doesn't care if it's visiting another city, camping out, or going on a damn picnic for a day - he loves road trips with his buddies. He'll organise them whenever he can, is totally willing to borrow his parents' car to drive everyone who can fit in a station wagon. Maps and plans are optional - the fun part is the journey, not the destination.
Clean Living: Less of a hobby, more a way of life. Thorn does not touch alcohol, cigarettes or any form of recreational drug. If you do, that's your choice, but he's going to think less of you for it. Thorn's parents were minor addicts - nothing as horrible as junkies, but they spent more time stoned than not. Or they did, until social services threatened to take Thorn away. They cleaned up their act, joined the 'rat race' and got jobs, but Thorn can't get rid of that bundle of disgust for anyone who poisons themselves that way.
Gemstone: Bloodstone
Virtues:
Can he do it? YES, HE CAN (Confident) -- Thorn knows what he can do, and he does it - proudly, to the best of ability. He's not easily ruffled. He's built like a tank, so he has no fear of most social situations or conflicts (more likely to look down at anyone insulting him with a disbelieving smile - awww, aren't you the cutest thing, like a kitten trying to pick a fight with a German Shepherd? Who's the cutest, fiercest little kitty? You are! - before breaking out the insults). He has faith in his own abilities in a physical fight - you'd need to bring superior numbers or weapons to a fight to make him concerned. He knows his strengths and he plays to them.
Charismatic -- Thorn is somehow just very likable. Even if he's sometimes too enthusiastic, too emotional or too insulting, there's always a sense that he has nothing personal against anyone. Any 'bad' days are followed by several days where he's helpful, pleasant and fun, which can make it hard for people to hold grudges against his more annoying days. He comes off as a Generally Good Guy (he MEANS well) and most people respond to that sort of thing.
Enthusiastic/Energetic -- He is GUNG-HO! Got an order for him? SURE THING, BOSS! Someone needs protecting? He's so there! Negaverse around? CHARGE! Group project at school? LET'S DO OUR BEST, EVERYONE! He's great on your team for sports, to cheer you on in anything he's not involved in himself. Sometimes his energy is infectious. Sometimes it's enough to make you want to stab him with a spork. But you can't say he's lazy or unmotivated.
Note: He is not always 220% ENERGIZER BUNNY on. He has normal energy levels, too. But even if you gave him the crappiest job in the universe (like cleaning the school toilets with a toothbrush), once he finished insulting you and your questionable parentage, he would still give 100% to getting the job done.
In battle, Thorn brings the intense energy and impact of a faultline area. He's a hard hitter, he loves the adrenaline rush and thrives on it.
Lead By Doing -- He will never ask anything of you that he's not willing to do himself. He might suck at it, but he's willing to try it before asking others for help. And if he's asked to help you learn anything, don't expect any of that theory or safety crap - let's get right into it! Doing is the best way of learning. But you can rest assured that he'll never pawn off his work to you, and if he asks you to take part in a battle or fight (or sports challenge) you can bet he'll be there right at your side.
Flaws:
Oh my god, they killed Kenny! YOU BASTARDS! -- He is an emotional person, which usually works more to his disadvantage than the other way around. There is no easier way to get him riled up than to threaten, injure or insult a friend. His emotions are strong, fierce and sometimes overwhelming. He can be OVER-protective, OVER-enthusiastic (bone breaking hugs!), OVER-critical (see Backseat Fighter and Insulting), and yes, even head-over-heels in love at first sight.
Cocky -- The true downside of his confidence isn't being over-confident, it's that it makes him cocky. He can be an annoying b*****d - especially when he's right and/or successful at a given task. His cockiness can make it difficult in battle sometimes - he won't want to wait for others, either get up to his pace and ability, or hand in your sword. He does sometimes bite off more than he can chew. Similar to earthquakes being caused by slippage along faultlines, Thorn goes into a rage whenever his weaknesses and faults are exposed or exploited, or - god forbid - if he fails/loses. He is NOT a good loser, especially if his earlier cockiness is thrown back in his face. His rage is likely to spill over onto comrades as well as enemies when that happens.
Backseat Fighter -- "You're leaving yourself open on your left! Watch out for that guy on your right! Dear god, your grip is horrible, where on earth did you-!? You know what, just me do it. Stop, get out of my way, I'll take care of this. You're just too painful to watch." -- Cavaliers, senshi, no one is safe. He makes a TERRIBLE teacher, always taking over instead. And it can be pretty annoying even if you're both 'equal'.
Affection through insults, loathing through insults... you know what? Just plain insults -- Whether he likes you, whether he hates you, even if he doesn't really care either way, if he can find something to insult you about, he will. He will taunt you horribly if you stuff up, and literally fall off his seat laughing at you if you do something embarrassing or stupid. Endymion and Kunzite are generally the only ones who can force him to shut up, and are insulted slightly less. Just slightly.
Challenge:
Weapon Sword. Sword name. Rapier. How Anima uses his sword -- unless plugged in, like a BASEBALL BAT. He has no idea how to use any kind of sword, let alone a knitting needle like a rapier. Despite it's size and shape, his instinct it still to swing like a baseball bat - which of course bounces harmlessly off his opponent, unless he catches somewhere delicate. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye... Once plugged in, he's an average fencer, nothing special in terms of technique.

Hair: Golden brown - like this hair and these eyes. Eyes: Prussian blue. Face: Body: Tall, built. There may be some Native American in his ancestry, because he has the skin and body type for it. Basically, he looks like he could be the guy on the cover of those trashy novels. Fashion: Generally? No fashion sense. None. He makes you want to follow him home, burn his wardrobe, and dress him up like a Ken doll. He also has a passion for beaded / homemade jewelry. Braided friendship bracelets, 'native' accessories - it doesn't matter if it was bought from a shop, a tourist stand or made by a friend back in elementary school - he has it and he still wears it.

Thoughts on Faultlines
- "In geology, a fault or fault line is a planar fracture in rock in which the rock on one side of the fracture has moved with respect to the rock on the other side. Earthquakes are caused by energy release during rapid slippage along a fault." Wiki.
- Energy release from objects to damage them?
- Finding/exploiting the weakest point of an object to damage/break it?
- Finding emotional faultlines through his taunting and insults?
I'm really running more with the energy release and slang use of "fault line", not the literal "earthquake" sense. Hoping I'm not off base with this. Not that we pick Cavalier attacks or anything, but to try and have a character match a sphere.

This is looking awesome so far. His flaws and virtues sync up pretty well, and it gives me a very clear mental image of him. I love that you took the energy aspect of fault lines and put that into play. Aaand suggestion time, if I can think up any good ones.
He is super into competition it seems, and very ********, but how does he handle conflict. If he's very cocky and energetic, how does he handle conflict? How does he handle losing? Maybe that cockiness could conflict with his ability to be a team player or take orders if he thinks that he has a better way of doing things.
That could play into fault lines as well. They're locations of really intense energy and impact, maybe throw in something having to do with how he reacts to things not going the way he wants? Similar to earthquakes being caused by slippage along faultlines, does he go into a rage whenever his weaknesses and faults are exposed or exploited?
I really love that he's a very stand up and take action kind of person, and that his parents were hippies. XD Physically, I get the mental image of him just being a naturally big guy, like a brick wall. I think our options for swords are limited to short swords and rapiers, but I would definitely suggest going with short-sword for him whenever you get to it. This is possibly because I really, really, really want to read him thwacking someone with the flat of the blade like a baseball bat.
