I could fill a jar with steaming hot jarate over this 'war'. This week is going to be made of futile fail. Much like Gaia's pathetic 'pick a side to get an exclusive' I see this kind of thing as bad and lazy managment.
Frankly this event is already going to be skewed, as a poster over on the steam forum pointed out: Valve is counting 'kills' from friendly fire servers. This means demos and soldiers on the same team turing on each other or spamming afk idle severs.
On top of that whichever side has admins that get jarated over this will just add mods to switch the weapon or some similar grefing like was done to cheater's lament.
It makes me want to hire team YELlow and take out the Administrator. Then maybe we can get someone compotent running the show, like Miss Pauling. That way we can get the final engi update and the last two 'meet the...' interviews some time before Blizzard realeses Starcraft 2 (to give a long off seemingly unlikely to come date).

How utterly pessimistic. What happened to trying to be happy about things? Enjoying a game of sportsmanship and competition? Oh wait, it was lost, to people that WHINE AND WHINE AND WHINE. Stop playing the game, chump. Do it for all of us. Don't want to? Then stop complaining and do something about it instead of WHINING on an INTERNET FORUM. Mail Valve. Let them know how you feel through more direct means. Be part of the side of the community that cares about things, positively, instead of being a bitter thorn on the side of it. BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE. (p.s. demo 4 life)

Actually it's quite different from Gaia's event. First things first is in Gaia's event you can't switch sides. Secondly, the items were only awarded to the winning team. There are no teams in this instance. One class or the other will get the item, so you'll get the item no matter what class wins, even if you were rooting for the other one. And Valve already said they will get the hackers, and as for switching which class has the weapon, that is impossible. It would require a whole rewrite of the game's coding (wherein the halo's model was replaced) and if you did that your server would not run on TF2. And Blizzard is releasing SC2 early 2010 fool. It was actually scheduled for this past month, but they decided to delay it a while to work on battle.net and so they wouldn't have to compete with MW2. CRY SOME MORE

Soldier FTW!!!!! And if any n00bs decide to think this is a joke, go to the TF2 site and look at the kills both the soldiers and demomen have. Soldiers are leading by at least 100,000 in kills so far.
But of course........We might not know who will win until the results are in lol.

The problem is that there are just way too many games coming out in Q1 2010. Their competition is HUGE. Megaman 10, Final Fantasy XIII, POKEMON... No wait, SC is PC. LOL I FORGOT xd

I'm going soldier! I've got 350 something Demo Kills and rising! And, quite frankly, I couldn't give two shits about people thinking that Valve is manipulating TF2 players. I've heard that from about five different people now. They can sit back with a smug look on their face while I go have fun and kill Demos.
P.S. What do ya'll think of Engie getting a Ninja update? A ton of people on the Steam Forums seem to think he will (albeit they are a bunch of conspiracy nutters, and I don't blame them considering what Valve does.) I hope he gets an update in the middle of this war and starts solving practical problems all over the place.

Anorexic Doll Zis var has just begun. It is still anyvone's game, zho I really am hoping zah soldier vill vin. I must say zat ze new veapon for ze demoman is quite impressive. The War is OVER. They have finished unveiling the new weaps, and, color me impressed, the Soldier gets a WAR BANNER and a PICKAXE OF DEATH. Of course, my favorite's got to be the new Sticky Launcher, the Scottish Defense, merely because I *am* the kind of player who always wished to detonate JUST those stickies RIGHT THERE, instead of all the ones I've carefully placed. The increased sticky limit is just a sweet, sweet bonus. I'm surprised there are not new maps announced in this update so far. Not even a community map. All updates have included at least one.

There are two new maps as well as a plethora of updates, including a fourth item to the winning class.

I knew it was going to be something that reduced jump damage. It replaces a projectile though, so I deem it useless, I'd use it if it replaced the melee. But the shotgun is too important, and I guess it'd replace the grenade launcher for the demo, which I also think is too important.
