((Here's a ref until I get her art))

The sky was blue and the sun was shining, but there was a steady breeze that rolled over the hills and through the forest. Inteus lay on the top of a hill, back to the forest, looking out at the open field before him. This field had trees on all sides, but it was plenty big for a few mustangs to run comfortably without feeling crowded. There were big brown and orange leaves being blown across the expanse, and those were what Tala was now chasing. Inteus lay comfortably, with his head resting on his knees, wolf pelt keeping his back warm, tail twitching every so often as he watched his little adoption. The little wolf pup ran after the fragile foliage and pounced on one whenever she could. She was a lively one, that much was true, but she had a very strong bond to Inteus already. He had only had her a few days, maybe a week or two, but the pup would run a little ways off and then come back to check he was still there. In fact, she did so just then.
Tala pounced on a particularly large maple leaf, one that envied her own height, but once it hit the ground under her weight her ears perked up and swivelled back towards her new parent. Satisfied that the leaf was 'dead', she turned on the spot and loped back over to Inteus as fast as her tiny paws would take her. She stumbled a few times along the way, but even that barely made her energy falter. She ran... straight into the big dun's nose. She stood there, with her paws on his soft nose and tongue lolling out, and looked into his dark eyes with her own bright ones, before she said just one word, "Momma!"
Inteus chuckled. Tala had been calling him that ever since the day after he took her in. That first day, she had been mopey and lethargic, probably sad about her real mother's death. But she had quickly let him adopt her, or rather, she adopted him.
He pushed his nose gently into the little wolf in a soft nuzzle, and sent her back on her way. She had checked in on him, and now turned back towards the open field to chase more leaves. A grin sat on his features as he breathed out in a deep sigh, What am I going to do with you?
