Dark tail swayed back and forth as the lighter tuft dusted across the grassy savannah. Today was a great day, she must admit. The weather was fair, the area free from any ruckus, and she was finally her own individual. As a youth, she had felt like a fractured pebble both physically and emotionally. She was always torn between what nature demanded of her and her own overwhelming shyness. How was she to thrive in a pride....a group, is she was so aloof? How was she to survive if she was also too skittish and frail to catch her own meals?

However, thanks to a recent friend and her own aging, Alustha found herself growing....stronger? Was that the right word? She certainly was bigger now, and with the guidance of her lion friend she had learned to hunt quite well. She also felt stronger in character since opening up to an acquaintance. had Learning to talk and befriend a stranger had done her well. While she was still shy, Alustha found it easier to greet and even confront others.

All that added up together to make up for a very nice morning. Sniffing the air curiously, the female slowed as she tried to remember...... Which direction did her friend live in again?

Oops.

Ili'ella was sprawled out in the sun. Not hidden at all, but rather just laying in plain view. The sun hit her coat, making it glimmer and warming her nicely. The day had started out so well and she had grown tired of wandering early, deciding to spend the day relaxing instead of traveling. Surely she deserved a day of rest as well, it was only fair.

The older lioness was never afraid of walking, in fact it was her favourite pastime but it was tiring and lonely. The spirits favoured her when she met new people and befriended them, but she hadn't met anyone in a long time. The spirits weren't pleased with her, she knew. They stopped bringing prey to where she was staying and they made her weary and weak. It was like she was a disappointment to them.

As the days went by without her meeting anyone, her urge to sing faded away until she was humming, and then even that stopped. Her walking slowed until she managed very little distance a day.

A day of rest was just what she needed. She would start all over again tomorrow and try and gain the spirits favour once more.

It was as she stood there, perplexed and alittle lost of her surroundings, that Alustha noticed the other. At first she thought it was a bright patch of orange flowers in the distance. But the form was too smooth and bloated to be just flat plants on the savannah. Curious, the blue lioness padded closer until she finally caught the detailed scent of the other. Oh, it was another lioness! But was she breathing? Quirking her brow, Alustha cautiously circled the female. Well, there was no sight or smell of injuries. Was she asleep?

"Hello there...," she whispered timidly.

Her light tail frizzed nervously. What if the other was just sleeping and got angry when bothered awake? Would she be chased away? Alustha gulped and kept her knees loose just in case she'd have to dash away.

Ili'ella shifted, she could faintly hear someone's approaching pawsteps and squinted her eyes open. A young, well she wouldn't call her 'child' but she was still quite young, female stood not far away, gazing shyly at Ili'ella. She rolled onto her stomach, staying laying down so as not to startle the young thing.

"Hello," she responded, her own voice quiet but her eyes sparkled kindly. "What are you doing out here?" She peered over the blue creature's shoulder, expecting to see a furious or worried parent racing after her. Who let a young cub walk around on her own? Once again, the lioness wasn't technically a cub, but Ili'ella was content to refer her as one.

Ah, so the other was just fine. In good health and a pleasant mood, thankfully. Sighing to herself, Alustha continued her slow approach, this time with a wag to her tail. Although her head did tilt when the bright adult gave her a small question. "Me? Out here? Umm....I'm sorry, is this a pride's territory?" It made her nerves get anxious and the lioness glanced around cautiously. "I...I was just wandering about honestly. Exploring the lands nearby. What about you? I feared you were injured....you weren't moving there for some time...."

Unsure what to do now, the youth sat on her flanks to wait and see what the other would do.

Ili'ella smiled lightly at the young girl, who seemed a little shy or nervous around the elder female. She watched her with curiousity. "No, no. I don't think it is." She tilted her head, peering around. "If so, then I would be intruding too." She laughed softly, her voice gentle.

"Ah,"
she chimed playfully, eying the young cub with a smile. "You are a wanderer too? I must admit, I find myself wandering too. I stopped to relax in the sun and must have fallen asleep. Not a clever thing to do when you are alone! I am lucky such a kind young lady woke me, not a predator."
