Who: Jynk & Ama. ( Crux and Zia ) When: Night time. Where: Grady household.
- - - - - - Void eyes glanced into the cold of night. Crux trailed down through the living room like a ghost. He'd picked up from Trystan long ago how to move without waking others up. It wasn't quite late yet, but it wasn't early enough either. Trystan had gone to sleep early, and the wolf had not wanted to wake him up. The house was oddly silent for so many living in it. Tail swishing from side to side idly, the canine pushed open the door and shivered at the blast of cold air. The night stared back at him relentlessly. Stars glittered from their place in the sky, decorating the black around the moon in light. Crux had only been in the house for a few days, enjoying his time with Zia. Ever since Faolan had invited them to stay over, Trystan and him had been living in the guest rooms. The canine knew it wouldn't last, but didn't mind pretending. It felt wonderful, being in such close contact with the other essentic. But at times the house felt constricting. Crux didn't mind it - the wolf inside of him sometimes whined in happiness from being in close contact with so many members of the "pack." But he also wanted to have moments of privacy. These were best satisfied at night.
Settling down on the porch swing with a sigh, Crux wrapped his tail around himself, cross legged. He was dressed in a form fitting black shirt with sleeves down to his elbows. The worn jeans that Trystan had thrown him now loosely fit around his hips, rolled up to show pale bare feet. Closing his eyes, the canine inhaled, enjoying the scent of night. If only Zia were here, he decided with subtle longing. But the essentic was probably asleep, and Crux did not have the courage to wake him. It did not stop him from wishing he was there though. Crux contemplated their relationship as the night wrapped around them. Letting the feel of warmth that he got whenever he thought of the other mingle, the wolf let the darkness relax him, closing his eyes to enjoy the night.

Zia had woken up in the night, sitting up while pushing strands of teal and maroon hair from its face. Glancing about, it listened and felt its surroundings. Everyone was asleep. Well, almost everyone. Crux wasn't in his room or the house. Feeling slightly alarmed, Zia eeped out its ability and located the other Essentic on the front porch. Curious why he was out there, the small alter bundled up in jeans, an old comfortable sweater Faolan had given it, Faolan's old jacket, boots (for once deciding bare feet wasn't good), and a wool cap jammed down on its feather hair.
Heading quietly downstairs, it pushed open the front door and peered out. "Are you alright, Crux? It's a bit cold out here, eh?"

Flicking his ears in the direction of the door, Crux listened as the floorboards creaked, the smell of carnival and tarot cards filling his senses. Ziazan. His eyes flickered up to the young adult in the door. He'd just been thinking about him, and now he was here. Crux suddenly wondered if he was sick. The warmth had spread and now enveloped his body completely. Was it strange to feel like this whenever he thought about Zia? A thrum left his throat, something akin to a content growl from the canine in his mind. His eyes turned back to the night. "Good evening Ziazan." He said in a low, soft tone. "I'm fine." His tail thumped, contradicting his words. "I'm just... thinking." He turned his eyes to the other at the mention of cold. "No actually.... I'm rather warm. Are you cold?" His ears flickered in faint interest. There were questions he wanted to ask Ziazan, feelings he wanted to get out before they made him flood over. The essentic had taught him about love. Could he teach him how to cure these strange feelings? Or tell him why he always wanted to be closer? Crux kept the words to himself, feeling awkward for so many weird thoughts. The silence padded on.

Zia pulled the hood of its jacket up and went out, shutting the door behind it, to join Crux on the porch bench. "Penny for your thoughts?" it asked, snuggling against Crux's side.

Crux hummed, leaning into the extra warmth of Zia, tail wrapping contently around the two. It stared into the night, wondering whether or not to tell Zia about what he was feeling at the moment. "My thoughts might be a bit much." He said absently, red hair brushing against his pale skin. "I... enjoy staying here, with your family Ziazan." He commented, as if it was a good way to start the entirety of his thoughts. "With you more so..." He paused. "You once told me what love was. I still dont think I understand it. Is it supposed to be normal, that when you're in love, you look at families like your own, Zia, and feel elation in the idea of starting your own with the person you're with? Or just being as close with the person you're with as the others you look at?" Crux twitched his ears uncertainly and fell silent. "Thats barely scratching the surface." He said letting his tail swish from side to side once again. Would Zia think he was weird? Leave? Crux couldn't honestly blame him. He did sound insane after all.

"It's not weird at all. I see Faolan and Ellandra with children and see other families around the camps. It makes me wonder what it would be like to have my own offspring. I'm not sure what sort of parents Essentics even make, but I'd like the chance to find out some day," Zia mused, leaning into Crux's side. 'Why the sudden thoughts of couples and offspring? Did something happen with you and Trystan to bring about the idea of familial importance?" It gave the other alter a concerned look, peering up from under the jacket's hood.

Crux listened to Zia with faint interest, feeling a bit of relief at the idea of not being sick or insane. Flicking his ears, the wolf glanced down at Zia with a bit of a smile. "I'm glad then," He said softly. "I thought I was going insane for a few moments." Pausing, he let the silence lead on as the other spoke again. "I'm not sure... Trystan has a sister that I met. She's about to have a baby. Trystan said she's madly in love - something thats rare in their household." He paused, recalling the memories. "It made me wonder if its possible for essentics too. Possible for you and I. We're different then humans and it would be different of course, but I've read articles online of similar things happening before the Hunt." Oh yes, Crux had done his own research when curious about his own species. "I was curious as to if it was still possible."

"I kind of thought we were already in love," Zia chuckled, looking up at Crux. "Offspring would be nice, though. I think I'd like to be a family with you, even though I already think of you and Trystan as part of our family."

Crux laid his ears against his head, tail swishing a bit in amusement. "We are already in love." He corrected softly, not realizing his words before they were out of his mouth. "Yes, if it was possible... I would like to be able to have children with you. A family." The canine inside of him growled happily. "And I'm glad that you think that... Trystan needs this sort of family." Crux smiled a bit. "Thank you, Zia..."

"Trystan's always been considered family as far as the Gradys are concerned," Zia said, hugging its small arms around Crux. "And I've always thought of you as family, too. I wish I knew how to make children, though. I'm not sure I have the right, erm, build for it the way that humans do."

Crux chuckled. "That'll be news to him, I'm sure." He commented with a whisper of mirth. Leaning in, he wrapped his arms around Zia as well, enjoying the others warmth. Even though his natural body heat kept him from getting cold, he still felt so much more comfortable in the others arms. "Its alright. If its possible, I'm sure we'll find out how." He said, tail swishing from side to side in amusement. Laughing at the mention of build, he flicked his ears. "Neither do I." Watching the moon out of the corner of his eye, Crux hummed softly. Yes, if it was possible, they would certainly find a way.

Zia poked the other teasingly. "You're male, though. You have parts like a male does, right? I'm neither gender. I don't think I can do certain things as a male or female cane." It considered this a moment then looked up at Crux. "Can still kiss, though."

Crux thrummed a bit in amusement at the statement. He chuckled at the others statement before leaning in, nuzzling the other, ears brushing against Zia affectionately. "Kissing is enough for now. Until we figure out the rest." His eyes flickered with interest. The canine inside growled happily. "Do you mind?" He didn't wait for an answer. Under the night sky, he leaned down and kissed Zia with no regret at all. And as it all happened, something inside of him sparked and ran through his body like electric fire. Despite the strange feel, Crux ignored it. Whatever it was could wait.
