Now I got invited to this guild and I was super intrigued, especially by the description I read of the guild. I was quick to decline but I felt I had to go check this out. A place for the powerful and rich? Not elite...but others such as myself. It was too good to be true.

I come to the main homepage and the animated banner catches my fancy. Subliminal messages make Koke happy. 3nodding

I read the Mogul Creed and I'm set I am SOOO definitly joining this guild.

And I look around....I see something....a miss...out of place neutral

Mogul Creed
# To be one the richest and most powerful(if not THE richest and most powerful) Family on Gaia.
# To set an example to new Gaians and inspire more to be Moguls.
# To set a standard on how things are done on Gaia.
# To become a recognizable entity on Gaia.
# To accept with open arms our fellow man/woman, to be not only a powerful but respected group on Gaia.

Here is what I see

1 - A very good idea....it says nothing about being elite...but what do you mean by powerful? I have noticed a lot of poor grammar and a lot of CB like chatter. Bump here....poor spelling. Typing all in caps...it hurts the brain.
2- I would like to think that here.....an example would be to be a bit more.....sophisticated in our way of gaian life.
3- To set a standard...I think there needs to be a bit of a standard on who is invited to the guil other than random invites. Also a standard on how spam should be dealt with chatterwise.
4- Recognizable could come quickly if things are run smoothly.
5- Respected...easy..powerful...easy....welcoming...of course. But there need to be standards of acceptance into the guild.

Now I don't want to seem elitest but that seems to be my feedback. I think if you want this guild to be a rich and powerful family you should invite some people who have been here for a while....build up a group that has some status on gaia to build up the guilds rep before you starting randomly inviting anyone. I'm not sure how the invitation process went but I have seen just from my lurking a lot of great people in the guild....

So that is my feedback on our current Mogul Community. If this needs to be moved to a different forum that'd be fine with me!

Can I move this to the main where it belongs?

I'll answer you questions as best I can.

The idea behind the guild is to be rich and powerful, yes, but not discrimintive. The mission I'm going for is not to just gather rich and powerful Gaian, but Gaians in general. If I was to just get rich and powerful Gaian, how will there ever be growth in the Guild? And that's what I want to see. Growth. Yeah, my initial invitation are random, and don't seem to have favortism, but that's in the hopes that together, we can help others to be great. That's what the second part of the creed stand for. To set that example.

If I want to get into the other issue about recruiting people who are Gaian that have been with Gaia for a while, I could mention one word that can sum up the majority.... Ego. It's more interesting to see a newbie and a semi-regular partake in my guild than a veteran. Veteran are important to anything on Gaia, because they bring more activity, but I still see it as a form of discrimination if I only recruited them. You said recruit them first, and then do it randomly? Why not now? By then, the newbies can already get a feel of how things are done here, and start to improve. Everyone is open to improvement. As a oldbie (if we're using that word) I prefer to help out the people who can be considered a newb/n00b, because everyone started out some point or another one of those, and with help, it really does make you an appreciative and better person (not all, but some). Plus, if I'm going to give out gold, I want to give it to someone who'll benefit from it more.

Another point I want to clarify is that the Mogul "Rich and Powerful" thing isn't an external scenario, it's more internal. Once again, I want growth to be in the Guild, not outside. How would that make this guild rich and powerful if I did that? Any of the guilds on the first page experiences that if that was the case. Therefore, it is to help all that become Moguls to strive to be great. If you're already great, then strive to help others become great. That's the true essense of the Mogul Creed.

Standards are needed, yes, but enjoyment is also something I want people of the guild to have. With more feedback, I can work some important standard for members to follow, but until then, let's have fun.

I'm so happy that you submitted feedback Koke, it's real nice that you show concern for the guild. I will take into consideration everything you said, but give me time. I am myself, still open for improvements wink

*nods* That makes sense. It's just a few of the posts all in caps lock and utterly horrid half l33t type spelling and bump threads drive me utterly insane. heart I'm sorry I didn't know where to put this thread in the first place.

Funny thing is..... I have recruited a decent amount of regulars ('03 and early '04 users) and I haven't seen much of them around. I wonder why.....Ego?

That's odd. Some of them aren't very guild happy though which I've noticed.

It is quite understandable though. Not many guilds have uniqueness and originality.

New FEEDBACK

The guy that keeps posting the poll threads with no real subject in them should be banned. That is all.

I wasn't trying to be harsh, but the random spamming of a feedback thread is pointless and annoying.

Nice avie, btw.
