So you would like to offer an additional half-year class focusing on field application healing. *Lingering near the office door with his arms folded over his chest, lightly scowling* Is the Ministry struggling to recruit new field medics?

The Ministry just wants more emphasis put on the fact that you can even become a field medic. Most Hogwarts graduates filter between becoming healers at Saint Mungo's or having a profession in one of the various branches of Aurors and special force tasks...
*She frowned a bit and shrugged a thin shoulder*
To be perfectly blunt, Headmaster.. We are in need of more field medics.. I know things have been peaceful, but just a month ago Teddy Lupin could have been critically injured in a faulty anti-Muggle attack...
Had he been injured any more seriously than he had...he may not have been able to take waiting to get to Saint Mungo's...
It's not just healing spells, it would also be giving students the oppurtunity to further their studies in potions and poisons..
Seeing as now that many "pranks" and accidents Aurors run into are potions based...you can't have another Auror casting a healing charm..or putting some sort of salve blindly on the wounds...as it could counter re-act and...
*Smiles* I'm pretty sure you of all people know what I'm saying as far as that leads..

*Frowns where he is perched on the edge of a desk, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear* As much as I personally don't like the concept of sharing some of my students.. if there is a genuine opportunity out there for them to have a unique and rewarding occupation beyond St Mungo's... I think a half-year class outlining aspects of the job would be a good idea.

*Beams* I just want to focus on basic training, field scenarios... Enough to give them the basic idea of it all and have it also prep them for the advanced training if they choose it for their desired occupation.
Additionally, if there's any other classes or tasks that need to be done around the school I'd like to offer my help.

So in other words, the Ministry is dumping you on me? *Low, sarcastic voice*

*Looks a little defeated before perking back up shyly* ^^;
I have one term of the class to try and spark life into the department...
But I think this class will change everything.
And...if it doesn't.. Well, at leas the students will have some basic knowledge were they ever put into a situation that may call for that sort thing.
You can never know too many healing spells or quick fixes when it comes to poisonous plants, botched potions and normal Muggle chemicals..

Well I approve the class. I'll have some students help clear out a classroom for you. Have a request list ready in the morning and I'll see what I can do.

I can supply almost everything for the class. The help setting the room up would be greatly appreciated.
And thank you for the opportunity. I know this will help a lot of students with their occupational choice.. In the least it gives them another option, and I'm glad to be able to do that.

...to be honest, I don't find the standard text book useful at all. I doubt the author has ever so much as removed a splinter. *Sitting on the corner of his desk, holding the text book in question* But Severus wanted me to require a standard book.

*Makes a face* Then why can't it be a decent standard book? Unless, you just make the entire lesson plan on reading the book and asking us what we should really do. *Rolls his eyes, but laughs a little*

I think I'll just ask students to leave it behind. Or burn it before someone takes its "facts" and gets hurt.
