Ili'ella was jogging easily through the savanna. It was early in the morning, so the sun wasn't high in the sky just yet. Her temporary den for the night was long behind her, discarded easily. She had no emotional ties to one place yet and she didn't plan to have for a long while. What was the point of becoming attached to something, you would only loose it later.

"Good morning sunshine," she chirped happily, watching the beautiful sun rise fade away as the sun finally cleared the horizon, taking it's place in the sky. "The moon is sad that she has missed you, but you'll meet each other one day." Her eyes twinkled almost sadly as she thought of the sun and moon's plight. Always in the sky, but their paths never crossed.

Shaking her head to dispel the sadness that lingered in her mind from the stories her mother used to tell her about the sun and the moon. Spotting a small pond, she moved over to it. It was barely bigger than she was if she curled up, but it was water. Bending low, she began to lap at the water, crinkling her nose at the muddy taste.

Ayokunle was slowly trudging through the brush of the savanna, ears poised and perked, listening for any slight sound. It was still early and the lioness wanted to get at least a small meal before the sun got too high in the sky and the heat too much to bear.

On her search, there was a small herd of gazelles, but they had spotted her coming and fled to safety, so she had to find something else... preferably with not too many of them in a group. As she got further, she stopped in her tracks when she spotted something in the distance, drinking from a small pond. It didn't seem like a prey animal, but she still cautiously moved closer to it.

Ili'ella looked up. She could have sworn that she heard something, and glanced around from where she had been talking fondly to the sun, a habit she had picked up after weeks of solitude. The sun and the moon really were the best talking companions, though they didn't seem eager to put much into the conversation.

She couldn't spot anything though, not after a quick glance, and she was not too eager to go and find what had caught her attention, so instead she returned her gaze to he sun, though not directly at it. "Will you watch over me today, father sun?" She tilted her head, giggling to herself as she kept moving, her hips swinging to an internal beat. "Thank you father sun!"

As she approached what caught her eyes, she was starting to be able to make out what it was. Getting closer, it only confirmed this. Another lion, a lioness by what she believed was a lack of a mane.

Upon finding out what she had saw was a lioness, Ayokunle stopped. Now, she had to decide if she should continue toward the other female or leave her alone. She seemed busy, gazing into the sky. Perhaps she was looking for something? Her tail flicked as she thought. Maybe she could wait until she was seen and then the other lioness could decide whether she wanted company or not? Of course there were risks attached to this decision, but she was willing to take the chance.

Ili'ella hummed to herself, her hips still swaying, as she moved, but something caught her eye when she was walking away. It was a flash of white, but the brown was easy to blend in to the surrounding environment. She blinked, and peered.
Oh!
A lioness.
Her smile got brighter and she changed her path, heading towards the female instead. "Hello!" she called out, her smile still fixed in place.

Well, it seems Ayo's plan of waiting things out worked, her ears perking when she was spotted by the lioness. Smiling, she started to head in the direction of the other to meet her half-way. Hearing the greeting, she smiled warmly and called back. "Hello! How are you this lovely day?"

Ili'ella beamed, pleased that the female seemed friendly. Oh, good. She hated trying to draw a conversation out of someone who was disinterested in talking to her.

"Wonderful," Ili'ella responded brightly, coming to a stop not far from the other female, so they could converse properly. "How are you? Enjoying a a walk in this beautiful scenery?" She asked, her tail flicking behind her in a playful manner.

A smile never left her face as the other lioness stopped a short distance in front of her. Sitting down, she wrapped her tail around her feet, the tip flicking back and forth happily. "I am doing well. Thank you for asking." She replied. At the mention of the beautiful scenery, she looked around briefly to take it in once again. "Why yes. I couldn't but help take advantage of a lovely day like this. Is it the same for you?"

Ili'ella bobbed her head in agreement. "Yes, I thought I needed to get out and about on such a beautiful day," she remarked, with a smile. "It's far too lovely to stay in a den or something, when there is so much beauty to see on days like this."

She shifted on her feet, glancing around the surrounding areas with a fond look. She loved walking, she got to see so much.

"Are you a wanderer, like me?" She asked the female, with some curiosity. Perhaps she merely had a den nearby and was out for a walk, or maybe she was like Ili'ella in her wandering ways. Either way, she might have an interesting story to tell.

The blotched lioness let out a small purr-like rumble from her throat, smiling warmly at the other lioness. "Yes, it is quite a shame when a day like this is wasted." She chimed, tail tuft flicking softly before she added, "I would find myself rather depressed if I were to have to stay inside a den." She kept her attention on her new companion, only looking away temporarily when she heard some birds call over head and watched them fly by. After they had passed, Ayokunle returned her gaze once again.

At the question, she gave her a slight tilt of her head. "Oh me? Why yes, I don't have a true home to return to daily like most others, but I am happy with this fact. I mean, if I stumble upon a location one day, that would be swell, but I am perfectly content moving from place to place until I do, seeing new scenery and new faces day to day."

Ili'ella nodded ernestly, pleased that this female understood. Beautiful days were not to be wasted! They were gifts from the spirits and the spirits wanted people to appreciate them, not squander them inside dens. Ili'ella's eyes watched the birds move overhead as well, smiling slightly, though her gaze drifted back to the other lioness when she spoke again.

"Ah! It is nice to meet other wanderers, I must admit," Ili'ella mused. "Some of the more...strict stationary people I have met don't understand the urge to wander." She smiled, looking amused, rather than annoyed, at the statement.

"Have you wandered very far?" She asked, unable to contain her curiousity. She loved hearing stories from others, though she was sure that many got tired of her questions rather quickly.

Ayokunle enjoyed it as the other lioness confided her delight in both, roaming and meeting fellow nomads. Her tail swished lightly over the grass, letting it rustle softly under the appendage. "I have to agree. Roaming leads to seeing new sights, hearing new sounds and meeting possible new friends. One can never know what to expect from day to day."

How far she traveled... that was a good question. "Why yes. I have to be honest, since wandering away from my family when growing into an adult, I've been to many places, I'm afraid I can't remember them all. I feel that I remember who I meet in areas much more than where I go." She confessed with a light giggle, "I'm sure that I'll more than likely remember you more than I would remember where I met you."

Ili’ella continued to smile, and brightened. “How fascinating! I’ve been travelling from my family since adolescence, with my family since I was a cub. My family was raised to be wanderers, and we were encouraged to strike out on our own as soon as we felt able. My siblings and I parted ways rather early compared to most, I think. “

She looked intrigued and smiled, nodding. “It is easier to remember a face than a landscape, I have to agree. “ She glanced around them, her eyes skimming over the lands before returning to the female. “Though I must admit, there are some sights I could never forget, like the sight of the sun rising over the ocean after a storm, or the sunset in the desert…” She had travelled to each, and while some lands blended into nothing, some stuck in her mind like a permanent backdrop to her thoughts.

Ayokunle listened intently as her current companion told her about her family. She couldn't help rumble softly at the story, though was a little forlorn at the thought of leaving her siblings and her mother at an earlier age than she did. It made her think of them and remind her that she should go and locate them to see how they were all doing, especially her sister.

Nodding in agreement, the lioness giggled lightly. "It is slightly funny how certain landmarks stick in your mind and some don't. It's almost like someone's face. You are more likely to remember it if it had an interesting marking than if it didn't." Her tail tip flicked happily, quite pleased to have met someone that shares the things she enjoyed. "Although I do like journeying to new lands, I still like to revisit those certain landmarks from time to time."
