Forgotten Morph

PostPosted: Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:38 pm

This town.... was really kind of boring, the morph thought, slowly glancing around. He'd gone back to strolling through the streets, shirtless; but really, it wasn't as fun as it used to be. A year of doing this had kind of gotten old, to be honest. And it wasn't as if there were new people coming into Eyris. Just the same old people, doing whatever they did. It wasn't as if he really paid attention, he didn't have a job. Ha, he didn't even have a place to stay now, hadn't for a few months, actually. Not since his house fell down. Damn bishop. He was a friend, but sometimes he just pissed Kishuna off. Like then. He'd had a nice place, damnit. Oh well, it was probably better not to live on top of some old dead zombie thing.

Golden eyes blinked, then glared at a couple of women following him and trying to be discreet. Ugh, he'd already shooed these three off at least twice this week, why couldn't they just leave him alone?! He. Was not. Interested. Nobody paid attention to that phrase, did they? Course, maybe he should just put a shirt on. But, hell, he'd worn those damn robes for probably ten years. He liked being like this, even if it was a bit cool out....

And hello, what was this? Blacksmith's shop, but the blacksmith didn't seem to be there today. Instead, there was someone with green hair bending over the forge. Shirtless, and a bit damp. Kishuna stood behind the young man for a moment, eyes tracing the curves of his back. Yes, this would work. He certainly looked nice enough, and it would put those women off if he was in here hitting on a guy. He stepped in, and his face broke into a grin as he found out who it was; it was the royal kid, Ephraim. "Afternoon, princeling," he greeted the young man with a grin. "What's someone like you doing in here, getting your hands dirty? I'm surprised you're not just having someone do it for you."

How long had it been since Ephraim actually had a spear that matched his weight? One month? Just about..the sudden Razevi attack was back in October and there hadn't been anything the lancer really felt right.

He finally found a day to make use of the blacksmith shop that was in town. Granted the owner allowed him to use it for a few weeks now but Ephraim felt a little out of place..going there every day, forging spears that weren't to his satisfication. Well..he was helping at least and hey..he was getting paid whether he asked for it or not. Quite frankly, the owner told him to keep the spear should he make one he found fitting. His tunic was tossed over a hanger. Around his neck was a small white cloth smeared in dirt.

He pulled the spear head out from the water with a pair of clamps, setting it atop of the silver anvil. "...this is not going to work either.." he muttered under his breath, wiping away the beads of sweat that trailed down to his chin. Ephraim was so focused on the spear that he didn't realize someone walk in.

"Afternoon, princeling,"

Ephraim paused, blinking out of confusion at the hammer and charred spear head on the anvil. He slowly turned and came face to face with..a rather..tall..man..O damn what the hell? Can someone spell hottie? OH, GEEZ, Ephraim! Your not suppose to think like that! Hadn't he seen this guy somewhere before? Oh..right..back during Easter..though that was what..3 a.m in the morning?

"What's someone like you doing in here, getting your hands dirty? I'm surprised you're not just having someone do it for you."

Ok..well...how was he going to go about explaining this..? The presence of this person was surprising enough. Just who was he anyways..? Oh no matter "Well...unless they know me I doubt anyone else other then myself can attempt at a spear to match my own weight.." He moved aside, taking the spear head with the clamps and threw it into the scalding hot rocks, allowing it to soften up before he took a hammer to it. "I'm trying to make a spear to match my weight..much like Reginleif before it broke during the Fall Festival"

Kishuna was now holding a knife between his fingers, and flipped it lazily, balancing the point on the back of his hand. His pants... didn't have any pockets, so where he'd pulled it from was a bit of a mystery. His eyes swept across Ephraim's work - and his chest, too - before coming back up to his face with a smirk. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense. You have to have the weapon that works for you, or something, right? I mean, not that I'd know, the last time I fought anyone was about a thousand years ago. And then I died. So I guess I wasn't really all that good at it anyway. But anyway, I guess I get what you're doing. But you're working up a sweat, y'know." He reached out and trailed a hand down Ephraim's back for just a second, but long enough to enjoy it. He'd have fun with this one~

Now, how to distract him from his work? Obviously, this was pretty important, so the morph would have to have a good idea to pull him away. "So, princeling, my name's Kishuna. I'm a morph, of course; you can see that, right? But, because of that I can go places - and do things - that humans can't." He paused for a second, running back through the places he'd visited in his head. No, no. That wouldn't work, that was too remote... ah, wait. If the young man wanted to forge a weapon... "All right, I'll tell you what I'll do. I know where there's a metal that fell from the stars. I don't know anything about it, but it stands to reason that it would be stronger than normal metals, right?" He laughed, grinning at Ephraim, and then gave an innocent grin to the now decidedly horrified-looking women.

"So, toss on your armor, and come with me," he told the prince. "Might want to bring a lance, too, I'm not exactly the best fighter. At all. And there MIGHT just be a few things along the way you'll have to take care of. Nothing major, I promise, it'll be fun~ What do you say?"

A chill ran down his spine before he suddenly rolled away against the table behind him, a little panic'd as to what on earth this..morph was doing! Kishuna he says..interesting fellow..He couldn't exactly say he knew right on the spot since 'morphs' weren't exactly in Magvel all too often..or rather they were rarely ever even seen let alone created. "..I'm Ephraim" though the calling of 'princeling' wasn't bothering him..but that title meant nothing here in Learania.

Ephraim moved over toward the heated object on the rocks and pulled it out with the clamps. He picked up a hammer, attempting to correct the edges a little until the morph suddenly spoke of something that caught his interest.

"I know where there's a metal that fell from the stars. I don't know anything about it, but it stands to reason that it would be stronger than normal metals, right?"

Oh really? Was what was going on in the back of his head. The hammer was raised shoulder level and he was listening. It was an interesting offer..he put the hammer down and turned, watching the morph head for the door.

"So, toss on your armor, and come with me," Ephraim paused for a moment, debating on whether he should even go or not..it was rather interesting and if what he said is true, he may as well take the chance for it. He wiped the remaining sweat off his face and body before tossing the tunic he had hanging on the hook over his head. His armor you could say he just grabbed from the shop anyhow. Lastly, he grabbed a brave lance off the back shelf, leaving a note on the table for the owner and notifying him on what he took. "You got my attention..Sounds fun"

Really, this could actually get interesting.

Alright, this was great, then. He agreed to go, and Kishuna would get out and have some fun, along with getting to hit on this guy. Poor kid, having to work out here all by himself. And he wasn't really getting anywhere, either, he didn't seem like he was exactly the best at forging weapons. Of course, he was a royal, you couldn't expect all that much from them, right? They got to sit around and have things handed to them by their servants. So really this expedition would let him see if the princeling could handle himself, too. Hopefully he could, because quite honestly if he started getting overwhelmed Kishuna wasn't going to put himself in danger to save him. If he happened to vanish out there? Meh, not many people would notice.

"So, it's pretty far out. We're not going to be able to come back once we're out there, unless I bring us back." Of course, Ephraim would have no idea what he was talking about. But, Kishuna didn't wait for a response. Instead, he wrapped an arm around Ephraim, bringing him close to his own body and grinning back at the women. "Here goes~" A crimson circle grew underneath them, runes writing themselves along its edges, and with a flash of light they were both gone, nowhere to be found.

And then they reappeared, in a forest alongside a cliff. Kishuna frowned, looking around with a bit of confusion. "... It looks like I missed. Damn, we're going to have to find our way to the top of that cliff. And I can't try again without seeing the peak... I don't want us coming out in the middle of solid rock." He scratched his head for a second, looking around him. Trees, trees, trees. Boring scenery. Instead, he turned to look at Ephraim. Much better. In the distance, a soft howling heralded... wolves, probably. Kishuna growled himself, glaring off in that direction. "******** I hate animals."

Whoa hey now! A little touchy there weren't we? That sure caught Ephraim by surprised when he was suddenly grabbed and pulled in close in order for Kishuna to..apparantly teleport.

In a mere matter of seconds, they were apparantly in a forest area. Ephraim stumbled a bit on his footing. So now where were they?

...

Did Kishuna jsut say he missed? What did he miss? How did he miss? Just where on earth were they anyways? "in...the middle....of a rock..." that kind of had him concerned just a bit...did Ephraim just get himself into a middle of a mess? Could he actually trust what this morph was saying? ... It seemed convincing..but then again, a challenge was always what the lancer looked for a majoirty of the time.

Whoooa hey now, least they weren't attacked by it just yet..whatever it is. Ephraim looked around and walked a little past the morph. "Lets move then, it'd be bad if we became food for them..its this way..right?" he asked, wondering if his memory was correct in which direction they were to take.

Kishuna shrugged, giving the young man a wide grin. "To be honest, I have no idea which way to go, I started from the other side the last time I was here. I guess we can find something, though?" He glanced off into the forest and started walking, maybe a little more quickly than he needed to. "... Uh, isn't that why you brought a weapon, though? I mean, I have knives, but I can't fight off anything more threatening than maybe a person or a mid-sized animal. I'm pretty sure there's bears around here somewhere..."

The cliff to their right seemed like a sheer face; it didn't look as if they'd be able to climb it at all. A soft rumble came from high above them, and a shower of pebbles cascaded down, one whacking Kishuna in the head. The morph winced, rubbing the spot ruefully, and made his way farther out from the cliff. "Careful, don't want you getting yourself injured." Instead he slipped into the first line of trees, dead leaves crackling underfoot as he walked. At least he was wearing shoes, even if he didn't have a shirt... which also might not have been such a good idea, he found out as soon as a branch whipped across his arm, drawing blood. Damn, he wasn't used to actually WALKING to places. And really, he wasn't sure why they hadn't just made it to the top. Maybe bringing someone with him... added weight? And that slowed the movement just a little. Made sense.

Hey, it would be interesting, at least. And he'd get to mess around with this kid. He had entertainment for the day and someone to hit on. Maybe he'd even end up convincing Ephraim to... join him in his room. Heh. But then again they'd have to finish this up first. And to be honest he wasn't even sure they could reach the spot from here; it was a crater in the rock near the top of the mountain and he didn't know if that face was climbable. Oh well, they'd find out. "... Why don't we go here?" the morph suggested, pausing. For a moment it wasn't clear what he was talking about, but then a cave showed itself in the shadows of the cliff.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 09, 2009 12:33 pm

"I should say the same about you" Ephraim commented following after the morph, noticing the small scratch the morph had gotten himself. Walking around shirtless..in this weather....honestly, the guy is going to catch a cold sooner or later.

In all honesty, he had no idea where they were going. He was just following and pretty much, as anyone would say, the bodyguard. Least that's how the lancer was feeling at the moment, knives weren't that useful unless they were used as a throwing object.

"Hm?" for a moment, Ephraim spaced out. He looked up, gazing in the direction Kishuna was pointing at. "I don't suppose why not"

Forgotten Morph

The morph didn't bother to look around, of course; he just strolled right on into the cave, not a care in the world. The howls behind them had gotten a bit louder, but that wasn't really a problem. Wolves stayed out in the woods, of course, Kishuna had heard that they didn't like enclosed spaces. Obviously, Kishuna also hadn't gotten out much when he was younger. He stepped right over the piles of odd forest trash; to a more trained eye these would be recognized as bedding. But the morph ignored this, moving farther into the darker regions of the cave.

There was a draft of wind coming through the back of the cave. So, there must be another passageway. Perfect logic, right? The morph paused for a moment; the eyes of morphs worked much better in the dark than normal humans, but he did still need a bit of time to adjust. All right, it did look as if there was a tunnel back there, so theoretically they could go through here and eventually come out at a higher spot on the cliff. "Hey, right here," he called back to Ephraim. "We can go through this way," he told the other, a lot more confidently than he actually felt. "From here it should just be right up, shouldn't take long at all."

Of course, off in the forest, conveniently a group of shapes were moving. Or, should we say, a pack of shapes. The wolves that lived around this area had just been on an unsuccessful hunt and were now returning to their home, rather hungry. But what was this? Luck, some weak fleshy creatures were rummaging around in their cave. Normally, this would be a reason for anger, but right now they were an easy source of food. So, the pride leader decided to forgive them this once, provided that they tasted good. He uttered a short bark, and the pack gathered around him, loping towards the mouth of the cave on quiet paws.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 10, 2009 1:29 pm

They were getting somewhere, slowly but surely. The tone in Kishuna's voice had him assured for a moment...but only a moment.. he followed him into the cave, taking note of their surrounding. Shouldn't take that long sure..but that wasn't what got his concern now. They were now surrounded by a pack of wolves..well this was fun..not really. Wolves were rather protective about their territory and should anyone trespass, things weren't going to end well.

Ephraim could easily identify the pack leader, the one with a missing left ear. Seems that one had been through alot in order to gain that title. A soft bark broke his concentration and what came jumping toward him was a small pup (Not really, but it was smaller then the others) from the left. Ephraim stepped aside. He raised his spear, letting the animal gnaw at the shaft before his leg connected to its rib-cage..this wasn't much...they needed to get out before they really became food..and Ephraim didn't feel like wasting the brave lance on such small animals..

Wait..

Kishuna? How was Kishuna holding up? He swirved around, looking for the morph a good few feet away from his left. "He can't handle that many.." Something snarled to his right and he turned his head. The one with the missing ear, the leader charged in straight for Kishuna. "Kishuna doesn't know its coming after him, HEY!" Ephraim slid against the dirt a little, grabbing a footing before running after that of which has targeted the morph.

"Look out!!" In a swift dive, Ephraim tackled Kishuna head on, pushing him out of the way against the dirt. Blood dripped from his own right arm and he turned, trying to locate where that leader wolf had gone. He couldn't see it..he didn't want to know where it was knocked to. Ephraim scurried onto his feet and grabbed Kishuna by the wrist. "This way!" pulling the morph with him out of the dirt cave.

However, the wolves still came after him. Damn, should have killed that leader when he had a chance but that probably would have made the situation a whole lot worse should the pack know their leader was dead.

Forgotten Morph

Well, that didn't exactly sound promising. There were things behind them, off making noises. Noises that the morph didn't like. Not at ALL. ******** wild animals had come after him all the time when he was still messed up. Quite honestly, it was tiring, and he didn't trust them now. He really didn't even trust those little rodents in the trees. What were they called? Eh, he couldn't remember, and he didn't care. He'd stab the little bastards if they even came near him.

Oh but these were bigger. s**t, some of these were a LOT bigger. And there was a whole group, coming into the cave, growling at them. W-well, those were some sharp-looking fangs, weren't they? The morph actually looked just a bit nervous now, knife up in his hand as he looked around, trying to watch all the wolves at once. It wasn't exactly working, since there were an awful lot of them. But at least he'd stay safe.

Meanwhile, the leader had signaled most of the pack to corner the two creatures, himself coming up behind. This one in front smelled of metal, and he had... a stick, with something sharp on it. He was more dangerous, so it would be easier just to take the other down first, since this one only had a small bit of metal. So he went around himself, letting his pack distract the armor-garbed one. Closer... closer... and he pounced, but of course the other one had been watching and the weak one was moved out of the way. Curses. But the bit of blood on his fangs now did taste quite nice...

Kishuna was dragged out, looking relieved, really, though he did struggle a bit when they passed the tunnel. Ugh, he just wanted to go IN, he didn't want to have to go around and do all this s**t. But... of course, those things were following them. He got himself moving, then looked at Ephraim and noticed he was hurt. The morph's face twisted into what seemed like a slight expression of worry. "Hey, you're bleeding," he muttered. He glanced back, then grabbed Ephraim, concentrating long enough to warp just far enough away that the wolves wouldn't be able to smell them. "Let me see that," he ordered, grabbing the young man's arm.

Back in the cave, the smaller pup Ephraim had kicked was being chewed out by the pack leader. Obviously he hadn't done a very good job, and he didn't seem all that intelligent either. So the leader barked at him for a bit, then finally applied a bite to his flank, which caused the younger pup to yelp and rush out of the cave. The leader didn't care. He was rather useless anyway.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 10, 2009 3:07 pm

Kishuna had warped them right when they exited the cave. Least they were away..for now..away long enough to get things together or re-cooperate. His arm was ignored, even when Kishuna had mentioned the fact that he was bleeding.

His arm was suddenly grabbed, Ephraim hissed at the pain once it had caught up with him. "Ah!" he yelped again. "Its..Its nothing..really..Its not as bad as it looks" he assured, though it did sting but only when moved suddenly.

On the other note, something caught the lancer's eye and he looked behind Kishuna. "Hey..its that pup" pointing out at what had run out of the cave.

"It's not nothing, you're hurt. Don't be foolish, princeling, we can't have it getting infected out here," the morph told him with a soft growl. He brought the young man's arm up, examining it; sure enough, the wolf's teeth had managed to rip through his flesh. It hadn't hit the muscle, luckily, but other than that it did need to be taken care of. ".... Here." The morph's hand brushed across it lightly, wiping the excess blood from it and being careful not to hurt him. Then something flowed from the morph's hand, and a moment later the wound had, if not healed, at least stopped bleeding. Kishuna gave a sigh, leaning back a bit. "Ugh, quintessence is a b***h to use without magical talent."

And then.... "AUGH WHAT IS THAT" Kishuna jumped back, not having even seen the young wolf coming up to them. This one looked a little sad and lonely now, but the morph glared at it, trying to get it to go away. "No, don't bother us again, damnit! You already tried to kill us, leave." But of course, the pup didn't. Instead, it sat there and looked cute. Very cute. Kishuna was unaffected.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 10, 2009 4:24 pm

The pain subdued for the time being, but the wound wasn't completly closed. quintessence? Was that what Morphs lived off of? Ephraim wouldn't know, he wasn't familiar with them. He would have been ok if it was simply wrapped then treated it when they returned.

He was about to say something else when all of a sudden the morph jumped up, stepping away from the wolf that apparnatly now wanted to go with them. "..It wasn't that harmful" Ephraim pointed out. He knelt down to its level, gesturing it to come closer and that it was alright. The wolf slowly inched forward and nuzzled its hand against the lancer's hand. "Besides, I think I did more damage to it then it did to us" pointing out the small bruise around the rib cage area, not to mention the sudden bite mark that was around the flank area.

"We can't just leave it out here" Not anymore at least, especially since it was going to follow them all the way to their destination should they get there anyhow.

Forgotten Morph

.... No. Just no. He didn't want this thing following them, nor did he want to bring it along, it was a useless little thing anyway and it was obnoxious and he didn't trust it. He didn't want to have to deal with extra baggage either and it was really ******** hard to warp more than one other person at a time to anywhere. Even adding an animal was difficult. And besides that, the thing would slow them down. No, no... gah, why did it keep staring at him like that?! It wasn't as if they'd been nice to it or anything, Ephraim had kicked it. It should be trying to bite them.

The little wolf of course had no idea what they were saying, so it simply sat there, staring up at them inquisitively. Its mind was pretty empty, really, except for the fact that it knew it'd been pretty much kicked out of the pack, and these two were nicer to him than the pack had been. The black-haired one didn't sound happy but the green-haired one did, so it went up and butted its head against the green one's leg happily. Then it occupied himself rubbing along the other one's legs, looking up with a silly expression. Good, it seemed they were adopting the one retarded wolf in the pack.

The morph sighed for a moment, then made the decision to simply ignore the animal, turning away from it. "If you want it, it's your responsibility. Don't expect me to take care of it." He strode off, moving a bit further away, then paused at a section of the cliff that was less steep. "Alright, I think we can make it up here. Maybe there'll be another cave that we can run through, since you dragged us out of the other one," he said, a bit more sharply than necessary.
