I was playing my DS, and I noticed something that nearly stopped my heart: a crack in the hinge D:

I know the feeling all too well. A moderately sized piece of the hinge on the right side of my DS cracked off when I accidentally dropped it once (first and last time). Other than the wiggly screen when not fully opened, it appears to still work just fine and has lasted me a good year and a half since the accident, at least, and it's still ticking without a problem.

Nintendo's products are made really well. Even if the hing gets broken, it will not effect the game preformance. Can toss a Gamecube around and it will still work. It is just something Nintendo knows how to make. Though, they are not invincible. Could always upgrade to a new DS Lite. (I am not a fan of DSi.)

I used to use my gamecube as a step stool to reach my tv whitch hangs on the wall XD (of course i only whigh 110 now a days so back then i was like 70) so ya if you dont have a dslight get one there amazing xD

My pink DS lite lasted until I got my DSi(which I traded in to get the $70 off)..If I remember correctly it had basically the hinges on the brink of coming off(possibly been too long I can't necessarily remember though)

Honestly I'm a total klutz and I've dropped my DS more times than I can count. I'd say at least a few times a month (sometimes just on carpet but others on concrete x.X) and amazingly mine still works just fine and I got it pretty much right when the DS came out

Vixanz gah, should i get a ndsi? sadly enough, i have dropped my nds A LOT in the past 2year. Yet somehow it works but just that it flips easily. If you are obessed with cameras, then you can get a NDSi. If you are a true gamer and would rather be able to play GBA games, then do not bother. The fact you have dropped it just proves my prvious statment: Nintendo knows how to build game systems.
