::RP Prompt Answer::
Kalimia looked out over the glassy sheet of ice. Several of the other Adahy children were already sliding around on the frozen lake, most were trying to get their legs steady on the slippery surface. Today was the first time any of them had seen ice, and for what Kalimia had gathered it was cold and slippery. Her gaze drifted to the group of kids gathered at the far side of the lake. A roar of laughter rose up from them as the adult centered in the group fell down while trying to teach the children how to balance on the ice. My turn then. I bet I can do better than that. Carefully she pranced up to the lake and stuck her foreleg onto the cold ice. Yelping she jumped backwards staring at her shivering foot. A little colder than she expected.... Another try and she got all fours onto the frozen lake. Getting a little cocky as she was already standing straight up on the ice, she took a step, and immediately fell onto her belly, legs sprawled out in all directions. Kalimia huffed and skittered back up onto her feet, only to collapse once more. So, she thought. This is going to be a bit harder than I had hoped. By her fifth attempt at standing Kalimia had almost given up. "This is impossible." She muttered to herself. A nearby adult who was helping the young ones learn to stand and skate, gently grabbed her rump and sat her up on the ice. "Try to use your claws to grip the ice when you stand. If you want to try and move around then do this." The adult then proceeded to push off with her back leg and glide around Kalimia like a fish in water. Taking the adult's advice she dug her fore claws into the ice and raised up to a standing position. She shot a quick "you weren't supposed to be right" glare at her helper and attempted to skate away with her pride only to fall back onto her butt. Kalimia hissed to herself and got back up. Her next attempt at skating was a little more successful and she got off to a shaky start. Soon enough her strides became more even and steady as she went. Finally she was skating around on the ice like a pro. The other children watched her for a minute then went back to their aimless play. Now that she had succeeded in skating she found it quite dull and returned to the frozen lake shore. Today was over for her. She had conquered the lake and proven herself against the other children. That was all she needed to do for now.

::Character development::

Personality: A smallish female Adahy with a huge ego. This young Adahy is quite cocky as she tends to hold herself to high standards. Kalimia is very independent and though she will take advice or help from others she often scorns them for being right.

::RP Prompt Answer::
they looked like they where having such fun, the other children flopped laughed and slid about on the fresh sheet of ice that slicked the surface of lake ha'looa. and sitting out on the side sat Tiely his dull orange eyes looked out at the others and he fluffed the crest of yellow feathers on his head he could hear his friends laugh at him he had always been one step behind everyone else and this was no different, he grew slower then the rest of the children and his rump feathers where still quite small and half seethed as well as the bottom of his crest feathers he moped on the side of the lake because he was cold and barely has his bearings on land, much less ice. but as he moped he came to the conclusion that if he fell on the ice at least they would laugh because he fell and not because he was to afraid to try. so up he got on his four feet and took a bold step onto the ice and very promptly fell on his face. the laughter grew louder and he heard a few of them fall on the ice aswell. "ouuuh" he groaned as he shakkily tried to grip the ice and stand up unfortunately he slipped again and slid away from the bank out onto the ice where he could not reach solid ground. 'drat...' he thought as now even adults where snickering at his comical predicament. it was time to get creative and show them he was no fool. he tried again to get up, and again he failed.at this third attempt he decided that the whole point was to have fun, not look good. so laying there sprawled out on the ice with his feet getting cold he tucked his front leggs under his chest and started to push himself along with his back legs like a small plow, this looked ridiculus but it gave him a start he slid along and managed to push up his front legs and slide on all fours. a few cheers from the watching adults made him smile until he began to realize he didn't know how to stop... suddenly the bank of the lake looked really close and at full speed he fliped off the ice as he hit the bank and ploted right back into the snow. and then he decided he was done with the cold slippery lake for the day and wobbled back to his den with a good sized knot on his head. he wouldn't prove anything anamazing today. but he'd surely be back tomorrow with aplan.

::RP Prompt Answer::

His legs wobbled like how stones do during an earthquake . Flakes of ice from where his claws raked across the frozen surface flew in all directions, some landing themselves in the other children's eyes. The children squint in pain, before resuming their fun. Such... coldness... surely something this stinging as this dosen't exist! The powdery white dirt, the soft slow pale rain gently landing upon his body. BUMP! His legs lost control and sent Cloudstone crashing on the frozen river head first. He struggled to stand up, ruffling his feathers to flick off the snow accumulating. Cloudstone spaces for a moment, watching the adahy children skipping and sliding across the still lake. Their cries and shrills of joy and excitement was contagious. He longed to join them. But of course, that isn't going to happen unless he manages to even take a step across this...this...silly thing.

Cloustone let his mind wander from trying to balance. He was having fun, but what about... them? Those Di'taki children. Are they having the same fun? The gentle 'rain', the magical feeling that creeps under your skin, making you want to sing to the moon, the frozen lake,laughter, all of it. The adults told the young ones about them. Monsters they say. No, they spat. He couldn't care less actually, though saying that was outright taboo. Cloudstone stumbled and snapped back to attention. Join us Cloudstone! Staying still any longer will make you one with this frozen lake! Join us! The fast moving children beckon. He wasted no time. Front legs forward, back legs propelling, he pushed off. Sucess! Wait for me! He calls to his friends. Joining them, he squeals with joy and n** at toes playfully. Cloudstone looked over his shoulder, beyond the lake, in the direction of the dark woods, trees covered with snow. He wanted to share this white magic with the Di'takis. He wanted them to be friends, those poor creatures he thinks, joining them in this happy time. He wanted them to be here, now, stumbling and laughing with him, without all the care in the woods.

::Character development::
Child's Name: Cloudstone
What they look like: Ref he roughly looks like this when he's an adult. (looks at the beast)
Personality: Understanding, he can put himself in other's shoes. He's tends to snap at adahy who insult others. Easily impressed, rather mellow. He can befriend others easily. However, he's very indecisive when it comes to making decisions as a leader. He's just not the leader type.

::RP Prompt Answer::

In a quiet corner of the wood, a paw’s breath away from the frozen edge of Lake Ha’looa, a clump of snow picked itself up and slunk slowly toward the ice. As the snow thinned toward the water’s edge, the migrating snow bank slowly revealed itself in the form of small, sharp claws, and puffs of white steam rising from a long snout. In each place that snow fell from its body, a patch of dark black skin was revealed, like the night sky slowly clearing of clouds. The sharp sound of teeth snapping caused the nearby birdlife to fall abruptly silent. Nightbreeze, as the child Adaphy was appropriately named, let a cold smile curve his young face at the result of his antics. Blue eyes swept quickly over the side banks.

At least, he thought, those damn Di’Taki whelps had the good grace to stay well enough away. Miscreants.

Unaware that his own mother was the true voice behind these thoughts, the young Adaphy eyed the ice with a cold, calculating stare. His gaze drifted slowly upward, seeing the form of other young Adaphy playing in the distance. Their voices could just be heard, traveling with ease over the uninterrupted landscape of the lake. The smile slowly slid off his face.

Another puff of white steam rose as he snorted. As if, he thought ungraciously, his ire at being excluded - even of his own free will - reducing the articulate voice of his mother into that of his true self: a mere child.

Gazing down at the ice once more, Nightbreeze considered his situation. He had heard of the yearly freezing of Lake Ha’looa from his mother. Mostly she had just complained of the inconvenience, how it impeded her from reaching the slender, juice fish that resided just below the ice’s surface. As much as he honored his mother, Nightbreeze felt some little resentment at his education being so neglected on the matter. That other Adaphy children might know more than he did smarted bitterly.

Driven by this thought, and the lingering voices of the other Adaphy children in the distance pushing him forward like a taunt, Nightbreeze stepped out onto the ice. Predictably, it was cold to the touch, and he flexed his claws until each one touched the surface with a light tapping sound. He continued walking a little farther out until the entirety of his body was isolated by the frozen water, even his sweeping tail failing to touch the safety of the banks. Having made it this far, he strengthened his resolve and running a few steps. Farther out on the ice, he discovered, the light layer of snow dusting the top of the ice gave way to slicker patches. The wet ice caused him to end his short jog on a wobbly note, sliding to a stop.

Taking a shaky breath, Nightbreeze peered down at the black ice. The wet area shone clearly in the moonlight, like a window into another world, yet revealed nothing in the dark depths. He had a hard time believing anything alive resided there. If he had not seen the fish swimming there himself just that spring, he might have been tempted to doubt the words of his mother. Taking another tentative step forward and failing to fall, the young Adaphy felt the beginnings of pride swell his chest.

This is not so difficult, he mused with an inward smile of superiority, all I need do is- SMACK! facefirst into the ice did he fall. The air left his lungs in a rush, more due to his own cocky steps than the short distance he had to fall. Sucking in a cold breath of air, he immediately released it again in a groan. Slowly, pulling his wayward feet under him again, Nightbreeze half slid, half stumbled to his feet. A few more steps later and SMACK! again, right into the ice, his wobbly legs less able to find purchase on the slick surface.

With a shaky breath, the young Adaphy once again managed to get to his feet. With small, painfully careful steps, he moved toward shore. His tail, he found, proved to be a useful balance, once he got into the swing of it. However, he had had quite enough of this particular adventure. Throwing a baleful glare over his shoulder at the lake, Nightbreeze sauntered back onto shore. In the distance, the sound of other child Adaphy once more caught his attention.

Well, he thought to himself, his young mind working slowly to grasp for an excuse, perhaps I will join them... For a little while. Such dull stuff, this ice. Watching those fools will at least be of some entertainment.

Satisfied with his own logic, Nightbreeze trotted along the snowy bank where his footing was sure, not trusting his pride to the slipper ice in the presence of others.

::Character development::
Child's Name: Nightbreeze
What they look like: Bright blue eyes, pure black (though, for the sake of not muddling the lineart with super dark coloring, dark grey will do) that is laced with colourful markings that seem to shine through from underneath. (literally, if you lay a colorful gradient down and put a black layer on top and cut away at the black layer.. like this ugly example xD..any design will do)
Personality: a cruel, insensitive, slightly twisted youth, raised by a hateful Adaphy to be a hateful Adaphy. The older children initially avoided him because of his mother, but spurned on by their perceptive dislike and his mothers own spiteful words, he became thing to avoid all on his own. Other than his own mother, he loathes all other Adaphy equally, whether they be older or younger, stronger or weaker. Only to the Di’Taki does he allow particular dislike.

::RP Prompt Answer::

Haze sat in the snow watching the other youngsters sliding around on the frozen lake. It looked like fun, but it also looked dangerous. He'd come with his friends, but when they ran headlong onto the ice, he stopped at the bank.

Gazing around the lake, Haze saw adults watching the youngsters and laughing at their antics. There were even a few elders hanging about. One old rogue elder lay under a tree. The snow around him had melted away and the icicles hanging in the tree above him had been reduced to small drips. Haze chuckled to himself. At least the old gent with fire magic didn't have to worry about getting cold.

Drawing his attention back to the antics on the ice, Haze stoked up his courage and took a tentative step onto the slippery surface. Placing each paw slowly and deliberately, he soon found himself out in the middle of the frozen lake with his friends. He quickly picked up the knack of controlling his speed and balance with his claws. Soon he was skittering around the ice, racing with his friends.

Haze was racing with one of the older youngsters when they bumped and both went sprawling on the ice. Both of them laughing, they struggled to get their feet back under them and continued knocking each other down.

A loud crack silenced them both to stillness. The older youngster understood the danger. Scrambling to his paws, he dug his claws into the ice and propelled himself forward. Without a glance backwards, he yelled at Haze, “Run!”

Haze was surprised by his friend's sudden change of attitude and lay dumbfounded watching his friend sprinting back the way they'd come. Getting easily to his feet, Haze took a step with the intention of following his friend at a more leisurely pace. Before he had time to react to a loud vibrating crack, Haze felt the ice under his feet give way. Reacting from instinct to escape, his front claws found a grip on the broken ice's edge, but it quickly gave way and he felt the icy water close over his head. Panicking, he struggled to find the water's surface, but met only ice above his head. Suddenly, something grabbed him around the neck. Fearing an ice monster trying to gobble him up, he struggled harder. Muffled words finally reached him.

“Stop struggling or I'll toss you back in,” someone mumbled against his neck as his broke the water's surface.

Haze stopped struggling to find himself being dragged through the water. Water? he thought. The lake had been frozen only a moment before. Looking ahead of him, Haze saw a channel of open water bordered by smooth ice. Behind him, he felt a heat that was warmer than any summer sun he'd felt on his back. Reaching the shore, he was deposited gently on the ground. Looking up at his rescuer he saw the old Elder who had been lounging under the tree earlier. The Elder's fire magic subsided, but Haze could still feel it's warmth. When he spoke, the Elder's voice was as warm as his touch.

“Be careful where you tread, youngster. You won't always have others to watch over you.”

Haze nodded, grateful for the Elder that had been watching over him that day.
