i don't care what people think about this(i know there's many who LIKE obama),
i'm only sharing this.
something from my deviantart account:

Quote:
i have already posted this link once but i'll post it again.
i'll just quote this for you:

"...we have an opportunity to
drive a stake into the heart of this ill-conceived ObamaCare
plan later this week, and I'm calling on our incredible team
to help me push our petition totals to 850,000.

Forward this message right now to 30-40 friends. Urge
them to take immediate action opposing ObamaCare by
clicking here and signing our petition: [Link]"

Laying aside the non-political nature of this guild ... do you really think an online petition is going to do jack about Obamacare?

1. Petitions, believe it or not, have absolutely zero legal force. They only serve (under the best of circumstances) to tell the people in power what the commoners want. The people in power still have the right to say "too bad".

2. Online petitions are a joke. It's too easy to fake "signatures". It's easy to fake them for real petitions, of course, but online is even worse. Oh, sure, a few places in the UK have started using it, but here in the States ... bah.

3. "Forward this message right now to 30-40 friends." Hmm, no threat of reprisals or promise of good luck. Bad news is, this is a chain letter. Good news is, since there's no real personal threat involved, nor promise of good fortune, this isn't the kind that could get a body sent to jail.

4. That website you link to asks us to "speak out" on over a dozen other issues, all of a conservative bent. You're asking us to give our private information (real names, addresses, phone numbers) online to total strangers, who will contact us about the Second Amendment or NAFTA. Oh, don't misunderstand, I'm for a lot of these things listed ... but I'm against junk mail in any form, and that's what this website is for: generating mailing lists.

Mayhap you should. Oh, I don't support Obamacare; I don't care either way. I'm just saying that this guild may not be the most appropriate venue to air your political beliefs. And slacktivism accomplishes nothing.

I kind of agree with 'Bait, something like this won't exactly stop it.

Best thing to do is email or call senators if you feel that strongly about it. Personally, I'm praying that it doesn't pass, but we'll see what happens. It will be bad if it does, but right now it could go either way in the senate. It will probably be a tougher vote than the House, which was already extremely close itself.

i don't care what people think means i don't care if there's people like you who are against this and that.
nothing more and nothing less than that.
