Chronos had been very pleased when they had found Libra; she had even hugged her out of sheer joy. However, as Serenade, she did not know Giselle that well, not as well as Elke or even Hero (and that would probably include Aurelia, right?) did. There was some form of awkwardness she felt, even though Giselle was a zodiac and she was therefore her princess. But she didn't even know why she was their princess.

Everything was so strange, and Serenade was huddled in a corner, trying to make sense of it all. Who was this voice in her head that appeared and vanished mysteriously? She had tried calling out to it and had no answer; she had talked to it before, hadn't she? It was just that she never had enough time to actually ask it more information; she was more focused on trying to save someone.

Which came the question, how many times did they have to go out and fight off zombies before the voice came and she could find the rest?

"Serenade," said Elke, popping her head out of a door. She bustled out and hugged her green-haired friend. "Thank you thank you." For a few more seconds, she held on to Serenade.

Then she let go, stepping back and looking sheepishly over her shoulder. Her over-the-shoulder glance at her history tutor was apologetic, her eyes big. "Right, you don't know Giselle that well, do you? Serenade, this is Giselle, Giselle, this is Serenade." With a pleased smile, she looked between her two friends, like she fully expected both of them to be friends.

Right then.

"Hello." said Giselle, with the kind of curt efficiency that made the word seem more like a fact than a greeting. "Thank you for..."

She sought a term, fruitlessly.

"...That."

A pause.

"It was quite kind of you." she added, fishing around the Petrova Compendium Of Conversational Prowess.**

Giselle was not sure how to treat Serenade, who Elke had informed her was the 'Princess' from the other night. Princess Chronos, the princess who, for all intents and purposes, Giselle was now in service of. It was a small price to pay for life, however, this made Serenade, the green haired slip of a girl in front of her, Giselle's superior. She wasn't sure how to handle that. In the past, her superiors had all been older than her, or at least taller than her. But Serenade's authority was something that she couldn't question, something completely absolute, and more than that, she owed Serenade a favour for the life she had been granted despite almost eating Elke. She would serve under her as capably as possible, but she didn't even know what Serenade was like, whether she had control to balance her power, or whether she was a Robespierre waiting to happen. And no matter what she was, Giselle would still be obliged to, and would, serve her.

All this put together made for one alarming fact that she couldn't escape from. The first person Giselle was ever consciously intimidated by was a small, green haired underclassman. And it was eating Giselle up inside.

**It was a slim volume, indeed.

"Hullo Giselle." Serenade said, hastily scrambling up on her feet and gave the other girl a welcoming nod and smile. The smaller girl stood there, looking a little awkward as she looked up into Giselle's blue eyes. She was certainly still not used to Elke calling her Princess and Hero calling her either that or Ma'am and was rather glad that Giselle didn't do the same; although she still seemed quite formal. "I'm just glad you're okay now." She told the blonde.

And she was still standing there, looking awkward, as though she had just remembered how strange Giselle must have thought she was when she had hugged her as Libra.

Okay this was more awkward than it should be. "Guys," said Elke, looking between them with a dumbfounded look. "Guys. We have shared a group hug. We are clearly friends now, please do not be all awkward." She pronounced the word like it was something extraordinarily foul, like saying <********> in a church. Or in front of your parents. Both incidences would be incredibly bad.

"Anyway," she said, heading off another awkward silence, "I think we should play a getting-to-know-you game because all my nail polish got burnt up in the fire and I checked and hid all the history books so Giselle can't lecture us so let's do something fun, okay?"

Giselle would never think to look under the desk Elke had just been sitting on.

Never.

Giselle coughed. Technically they had shared a group hug, and then Giselle had come back to her senses, and it had been a group hug with one member struggling to get out. Giselle may have become a senshi, but some things never changed, and her need for personal space was one of them, camaraderie aside. However, the hug had happened, and the camaraderie had been implied, so it counted.

"You what," she said at the mention of the history books, but didn't pursue the matter. Elke was better than Giselle at socializing, and Giselle needed to get to know Serenade. Elke was the expert here.

"What game?" she asked cautiously, eyeing Serenade and Elke. She was the least experienced person in this situation, and needless to say, it was not her favourite position to be in.

Serenade had always been a little awkward in front of people she didn't know well; sometimes she just had no idea how to continue the conversation. She wasn't as talkative as Elke was, but tried her best when people did talk to her. But this was Libra, but it was also Giselle.

"What game?" She asked, looking rather interested. It would be fun right? It would certainly take her mind off the fact that she had hurt people as Chronos. That had still honestly bugged her, even though they were trying to kill her.

Elke thought for a minute. Two truths and a lie would not be a good game because Serenade didn't know either Elke or Giselle as well as they knew each other. Plus, it didn't give much information and they needed to know lots about each other, fast.

"Let's play Never Have I Ever," said Elke, who was probably one of the last people who should know about a drinking game. "Okay, so what you do is you hold up ten fingers-" she held up her hands, wiggling her fingers "-and then we take turns saying things we've never done. And if you've done it, you put down one finger. So if I said 'never have I ever not fallen asleep during a History lecture from Mr. Becker' Giselle would have to put down one finger."

She looked around the group and explained, "Because he's really boring."

Giselle chimed in quickly, partially because she was annoyed that Elke would insult Mr. Becker (he graduated from Oxford), and partially because this was the second history jibe in a row, saying "Never have I ever insulted my history teacher!" Not like Mr. Becker was around anymore, what with the teachers all mysteriously vanishing. Not like that wasn't shady and suspicious. But she had to draw the line somewhere.

Her ten fingers were defiantly up in the air as she asked "Is that right? I don't know the historical precedent for this game."

Serenade, rather abashedly, did not put down one finger at what Elke had said (was the game on already?) ; she had dozed off a little (just a little!) once during Mr Becker's droning, sadly enough. She looked very much embarrassed by it, and gave Elke a sheepish grin. "I'm not very sure how to play this game either." She confessed. "Um...never have I ever not felt bad about hitting a zombie."

She was still terribly shaken up after the Captain and the encounter with Fallon, but those were their schoolmates.

Elke gasped, staring at Giselle's ten upright fingers. "You have fallen asleep in one of his lectures," she breathed, her expression all over shock. And awe. She put down one finger, though, at the insulting her history teacher. More than once Elke had resentfully called him a meanie butthead, which was definitely an insult, just not the kind you expected a high school girl to use.

She dropped her ring finger, too, when Serenade said that she'd never felt good about hitting a zombie. Elke didn't feel good about hitting a zombie, but she had felt a tiny bit vindicated when Chronos smacked Fallon over the head. After all, Fallon had just bitten Virgo by proxy.

(Her shoulder still hurt. It looked gross, too. Luckily no one seemed to notice the stain on her cardigan.)

"You're both doing fine, but Giselle, 'less you've fallen asleep in one of his lectures, you gotta drop a finger. Also I have never..." She tried to think of something everyone else had done that she hadn't. Couldn't be social, because Elke socialized with everyone. "Never have I ever celebrated Thanksgiving," she finished triumphantly. It was even true.

"I-I didn't know that one counted," Giselle said, putting a finger down as quickly as she could. Getting to know people was difficult enough for her without games. It was a whole other level of complicated with games.

Although she did like winning. But she had to put two more fingers down after Elke and Serenade spoke. Damn! Not that she had ever hit a zombie, but she had certainly entertained thoughts about going out there and hitting Avery. "Never have I ever lost a game of Age of Empires." she said, looking around at the other two like they were the French army and this was the night before Agincourt.

She did not like this game.

Serenade dropped a finger as Elke spoke; she did remember when they had been talking about Thanksgiving back when many of their classmates had started dropping like flies. Then again, Giselle put down a finger, and she looked utterly confused. "So uh...I don't put down a finger if I fell asleep in one of Mr Becker's lectures?" She looked embarrassed at this. "I'm sorry, I'm not very good at playing this game."

She put down a finger when Giselle spoke, well, at least she hoped that was right. She hadn't even played that game before. "Uh. Never have I ever not played Chopin's Nocturnes." Even when she couldn't access a piano in their current situation, it was evident that she still thought of it.

Honestly, Serenade was worried about how bad her piano playing would get when they managed to get out of here.

"If you didn't do it," explained Elke patiently as she dropped two more fingers, "you don't put down your fingers. If you did do it, you put one down." She was not the best at this whole... 'explaining things' deal. Elke did not pretend to be good at it, either, by snapping about how she'd already explained it. "So if you have lost a game of Age of Empires, you drop a finger. But if you haven't, you keep your finger up. See?"

She thought about her next statement for a minute. "Never have I ever failed a language fluency test," she said finally. Okay, that one was kind of cheap; no one really took fluency tests if you didn't go out of your way to make an appointment.

Giselle knew it was cheap and shot her a Look, the kind of Look that one normally only perfected after ten years of teaching rowdy sixth graders, but had fortunately been bred into Giselle at a young age. However, she still put a finger down, and another down for Serenade's question (which was somewhat irksome, as Giselle had always wanted to be musical- she simply couldn't). There were rules, after all.

That was a whole five fingers out now, and Giselle, one hand balled up somewhat tensely into a fist, said "Never have I ever kissed a boy I wasn't related to."

She was halfway to losing, and she knew Elke would have to put a finger down for this one.
