Who: Xan, Domevlo, Yuurei, Lucia
Where: Barton Center
When: Just after the sun went down
Weather: Cold and cloudy but not snowing yet Yuurei sighed. She loved Christmas, but the recent months hadn’t been easy. Since the virus and whatever happened to her when she disappeared, Lucia had been very quiet and distant. She stayed in her room or in the library most of the time. More often, every few hours rather than every few days, she was asking to go to this graveyard or that graveyard to get strength. Tonight was a treat: for her and for Lucia. They went to Barton Center to see the shops all lit up for Christmas. The entire center of town was sparking. There was a large tree and an ice skating rink where families or young couples were strapping on the rented white ice skates and making fools of themselves for a half hour. Maybe Yuurei would be able to do that later. The blonde glanced at Lucia’s lower half. Obviously the frei wouldn’t enjoy ice skating. Lucia smiled at the lights that decorated the storefronts and rooftops, but her mind was elsewhere. They had just come from a graveyard so Lucia was full of strength. However, she wanted more tonight. It was nice of Yuurei to take her out. It had certainly taken some convincing. The kitten had wanted to see the twinkling lights and beautiful tree that her guardian had raved about. But she wanted something else.
Lucia figured out how to go back to the spirit world. It seemed so obvious. It was as she almost was impaled on the scarecrow’s stake that she went the first time. She almost died. That was how to get there. She had to try to kill herself. She would do it. Tonight. Something would need to distract her guardian though.
The frei looked around as she floated with her guardian towards the center of town. The ice-skating rink and large tree came into view. Wow. It really was beautiful. The kitten smiled sadly. She would make it to the spirit world with her body or she would go just a soul. If nothing else, this place was certainly pretty enough to be the last place she was. Her lungs were tight in her body. Lucia’s exterior was happy, but inside she was scared. Very scared.

A throaty laugh seemed to fill the air, as Thanatos couldn't help but laugh at his charge. The lead reavan, Domevlo, was far too determined to try and ice skate when he simply had not feet of which to do so. Standing near the edge of the rink, Xan watched the lead frei as he tried floating over the slick surface, wondering why he wasn't gliding so gracefully as the others around him. He could barely float comfortably over the surface, so cold was the surface and strangely unstable for the young frie, Xan eventually reached out to take his hand. "Here let me help you." He offered sliding with his own ice skates across the surface. The two seemed like a strange pair as Thanatos gave Domo his first taste of winter sports. "You don't have legs and feet like me yet so it's not easy to do this right now. But at least you can float a bit." After the virus had been cured it seemed the natural thing to do, was to take the frei out.
He'd been in such a sad mood it was hard to get a feel for the raevan while under the virus' influence. One moment he would cry acid tears the next he would attack people at random. Thankfully with the cure it seemed Domo was back to normal, always eager to learn new things and far too determined for his own good. "Domo learn skate when grow legs... will learn." The lead frei bleated out sounding much like his usual self. Somehow his adult speech had seemed to drizzle away with the virus, maybe with time he'd learn to be more articulate as he'd been. "Domo want legs soon, like cow-thing. When get legs?" He demanded.
Xan could only chuckle pushing them across the ice near the edge so as not to get ran over. "Soon. You'll grow just keep at it just like you are. Learn a lot of things and growth with come." Though it was true Xan was more pointing out that Domo's growth would be mental rather then physical. A physical growth was far into the future for one so young. "Do you want to get off the rink?"
"No! Domo learn skate..."
"Okay but we'll get off in a ..." Cut off, Xan smirked spotting the saucy kitten frei from the Halloween party not so long ago. With a nudge he caught Domo's attention. "Look Domo, kitty."
The lead frei looked up with a casual glance, at first not seeing anything, but with another glance around he spotted the pretty kitten from the party. "Kitty! We go... see kitty yes!?" Domo demanded trying to pull them near.
Thanatos smirked and gave a gentle push to glide them near the women, slowing down when they were finally upon the two. "Hello ladies."

Yuurei looked over to the skating rink as a pair slid up to them. "Hi!" she said with a slight smile. "Lucia isn't that Domo?"
The kitten had been deep in thought. How would she get Yuurei away. How could she kill herself without dying. She didn't even pay attention when the guardian and raevan pair came over, or when Xan said hello. Only when Yuu said her name and the other frei's did she look up. Her bright purple eyes lit up seeing the pretty grey raevan she had first met at her home. "Hi!" she said animatedly with a grin on her face like a kid on Christmas morning, floating over the barrier seperating the skaters from those on the sidewalk; she wraped her arms around Domo in a warm hug. Maybe the answer to her thought was here. Xan could distract her guardian. Domo could help her get to the spirit world. "Woah!" she cried out as she hugged him tighter, her floating unsure over the slippery ground.
The blonde smiled at Xan. "I don't think we really got to meet at the party. I'm Yuurei -- Lucia's guardian. How's the ice?"

Thanatos chuckled warmly watching the kitten as she made he way to Domo. He would like her company and probably needed it after all the craziness of the virus. His attention shifted to Yuurei who he had to admit was a looker. "The ice is just fine. Slippery as ever." He informed with a soft laugh. Eying Domo again he gave a sigh noting his exhilarated glee.
"Domo play with kitty!" He half demanded and half announced but over the ice the two were not very float worthy. It wasn't a solid surface one could just float over carelessly as was noted in their wobbling.
Thanatos gave Domo and Lucia a light push toward solid ground before taking Yuurei's hand. "Would you like to join me on the ice, m'lady? It'd be a shame to miss out." He couldn't help blushing at his own charade at being a playboy gentleman, though he'd been in such worry over Domo lately it was nice to get out and cut loose.

Lucia smiled at the silvery raevan. While it wasn't the same as when she had been sick, the kitten still loved when he occasionally shone in the light. "We can play, but only if you promise to help me after! I need some serious help from you, but it will be fun to play first." Her purple eyes reflected the flickering lights as she floated unsteadily. "So what is this?" she asked with an uncertain look on her face. Normally she was sturdy, so the frei did not like this new feeling.
As Domo's guardian pushed them towards the ice-less ground, Lucia let out a squeal and clung onto Domo as they "slid" across the ice.
Yuurei's golden eyes looked up at Thantos. She could play along with the whole gentleman and lady fuss. "Why certainly, sir. But I must don my ice skates first. You wouldn't want a lady to wear the wrong shoes!" She smiled at him coyly and pulled her white figure skates from her bag as she sat down on the benches the town set up around the rink.
Standing up she daintily placed her hand in the gentleman's and winked. "Are you ready?" Yuurei wasn't an expert skater, but she could hold her own on the rink.

"No like ice." Domo announced suddenly, after being filled with that cure that made him sleepy and cold he had decided ice was bad. Though it could be fun so long as it wasn't inside him. Right now he squealed softly along with Lucia as the two finally hit solid ground. Floating from the rink he helped Lucia then smiled warmly upon her, gesture noted in his sparkling eyes. "Domo help kitty now. What do?" He asked, hoping to get this business over with and back on the track to playing.
Thanatos chuckled warmly awaiting Yuurei's attentions as she put on her skates. It was often funny to watch folks elapse into a play when he turned up the charm, though it was just natural for him. He didn't mind so much. "Whenever you are." He replied taking her hand and moving further onto the rink. A minty eye kept a watchful visage upon his charge noting that Domo was helping Lucia. Ah so he was learning to be a gentleman too? Hopefully, manners were necessary when dealing with others but for now he'd mind his own and return his attention to the young lady.
"I hate to bring up bad news but did Lucia suffer any from the virus?" Last he had heard all the infected Raevan's had been cured and were doing well. He just hoped Lucia was one of the lucky one's that hadn't been infected.

Skating with Thantos, hand-in-hand, Yuurei was almost able to ignore the rest of the people there. It was nice being with a guy who understood the pain of taking care of a raevan. As they slid over the ice, the woman became more sure of her footing. It had been a year since she had skated.
"Oh the virus. Yeah. She was a little odd. But the only thing remaining from it seems to be the broken wrist that is hopefully healing now that she's not getting in any more fights." She smiled at Xan with a shrug. "What about Domo? Is he doing well now?" Obviously since he asked, the grey frei had been infected.
Lucia looked around conspiratorially and decided it was safe to talk. The humans were off sliding on the ice - why the hell anyone would enjoy that she hadn't a clue - and no one was really paying close attention to the pair of floating torsos (apart from the occasional stare from a passerby). "I need your help." She paused and took a breath. "I need to die." She continued on without a pause before Domo could flip out. "Not die - almost die really. It's a part of my powers. I discovered it when I was sick, right after I met you at my party. I can go to the world where people go when they die and come back completely unharmed." She looked at the frei trying to gage his reaction.
"In order to go over, I need to almost die here. I won't die. But I need to almost. And I need your help." She smiled at the frei, trying to assure him that everything would be okay. Sliding her right hand in his (her left was still in a splint from her first venture to the spirit world), purple eyes looked intently into his own golden ones; "Will you help me?"

"He's fairing well. Seems to be back to normal as far as it gets with him anyway." He gave a low chuckle, mindful of his own steps. He wasn't an expert himself but it was a pass time he'd grown up on as child. "Glad that she's getting better though." He commented as an after thought for the kitten. It really was a shame.
On the other side of the rink a disturbed frei watched in horror as the kitten allowed words he didn't like to slip from her lips. "No sleep!" He protested but went silent as she continued. The idea of death, sleeping... no he didn't like it. Not at all. And for more reasons then her own 'almost death' idea. His mind raced with thoughts, elaborate as they were. If he allowed her to almost die and she actually did then the others would blame him for her death too. Just like with the Rose one's friend, it was his fault too.
Sighing he contemplated the idea. She wanted to go to another world the place where those that died go. Hmm? Would she see the other one like him there maybe? He wondered but for now the question remained: would he help? "Domo try help but dangerous... no want kitty to hurt." He made certain she understood if it got out of hand they would stop no questions. For now how was he supposed to almost kill her. "What Domo do now?"

"So what do you do when you're not taking care of troublesome frei?" the blonde asked with a slight giggle, trying to change the subject away from the unpleasant recent sickness. Xan was charming and Yuurei felt very comfortable with the casual flirtation and hand-holding.
Lucia's eyes lit up and she wrapped her arms around the silvery frei. She was right in liking this guy so much! She would have kissed him if she could see his lips, so instead she contented herself by kissing the exposed part of his jaw. "Thank you!" He would help her die!
But examining the frei's worried demeanor, Lucia knew she would have to assure him she would be fine. "Don't worry, Domo. I'll be fine. I'll just disappear and be able to explore that world! Then I'll tell you all about it." She smiled at her friend.
"How do you think I could die - almost?" she asked him as her purple eyes flitted from dangerous area to scary place to potential hazard.

Domevlo's first thought was his usual way of killing things... well for him at least putting them to sleep. "Raid!" He bleated out then laughed and tilted is head in serious thought. "No clue." He offered after a moment. Nothing sound reasonable in his mind for putting her in a state close to death without really killing her. The more he thought the more he felt this plan was something they probably should do at all.
With a sigh he ventured a look toward the ice at the guardians while they slid across the ice like idiots. "Domo not sure what to do. Not want to hurt kitty but want to help." He offered.... then something did come to mind. It wasn't completely out of the way. "Kitty remember cure yes? Make really cold, Domo fell sleep for long time. Maybe make kitty cold like that too but keep cold for a while so heart stop. Then Domo make warm and wake kitty up yes? Put kitty in state of shock, learn on picture box thing." He explained looking to her hopeful that he had helped or at least given her some idea.
Xan gave Yuurei a playful wink while thinking over some of his major hobbies. "Well I play the piano in my spare time. It helps calm me." Shifting his weight he smiled holding Yuurei a little close while he gathered his footing. "What about you?"

Lucia giggled as Domo talk about that nasty smelling spray. "I don't think Raid will work on me!" As the frei expressed his concern, Lucia smiled warmly. "I told you, I'll be fine. I'll just disappear or something. Then I can call you as soon as I'm home."
The kitten listened intently as Domo suggest freezing to death. Cocking her head to the side, she considered it, but shook her head. "That would take too long. And I'm not too fond of the cold." She just wanted to visit Shanna again, to visit that realm again. Shanna had died so quickly, she thought sadly, in the car accident.
That was it! Lucia's eyes opened wide as she grinned at Domo. "A car accident!"
Yuu spun around, skating backwards so she was facing him. "Ooo. I love piano. And, well I used to be a little wild. A little crazy." She smiled, a mischievous gleam in her eye. "But I do like to go out dancing occasionally, whenever I have time."
The woman did a slow spin on the ice, returning to face Thantos and skate backwards still. "Skating is kind of like dancing, if you do it right."

"Car?" Looking toward the street Domo wasn't so sure but a strange part of his being seemed to be smiling at this. Looking back to Lucia he shrugged if she wanted to die that bad he probably couldn't stop her but where did he draw the line for going to far? Let her do it... Some part of his mind screamed out and while she couldn't see it, he smiled. "Domo will help. What should do?" Somehow the danger was absolutely tantalizing.
"Dancing is it? I like dancing myself though probably more on the ballroom level." He offered with a low whistle as he watched her spin. "Though this is like dancing so if you'd like to try a few fancy steps." He wasn't a pro himself but with plenty of practice it wasn't hard to do a few tricks.

"If we go out to the street, it shouldn't be that hard to get hit. It's pretty icy, but people are driving way too fast from what Yuu was saying on the way over." Grabbing Domo's hand without a second thought, she pulled him away from the rink, through the throng of people and to the busy street.
Once they got there Lucia threw her arms around Domo in a hug and softly pressed her lips against his face mask in a kiss, leaving a trace of lip gloss. "I don't think you need to do anything." She floated towards the curb and let smile linger between her and Domo.
The blonde grinned at the whistle. "Typically I'm dancing at clubs." She smiled and wiggled her hips a little, knocking herself slightly off balance. She laughed softly and grabbed onto Xan's shoulder to steady herself before spinning into him and sliding her arms around his neck. "But I also know how to ballroom dance." Yuu didn't know what was up with her. Xan was sweet and ruggedly handsome, but she didn't know anything about him. What did he do for a living? How much did he make? Why was she flirting so much? <******** it, she thought as she looked at his face.

Being dragged to the street wasn't an issue, Domo didn't mind so much. While his thoughts warred with an excited glee to see what would become of the kitty, a part of him continued to worry. Only briefly did he looked back to the rink before turning to find himself being kissed yet again. "If you sure." Domo breathed while lifting a hand to brush across her cheek he smiled again this time for the worry he felt. His amber eyes burned brightly while the cars were passing by at crazy speeds. The closer she got to the curb the more he wanted to reach out and bring her back. "Promise to come back, Lucia?"
Xan chuckled as he pressed Yuurei closer while she got her footing. "Careful." While they glided his mind was completely lost in the moment, a chance to cut loose and just enjoy himself. Flirting was fun, something he didn't often do but it came natural when around another natural flirt. "Think you're sure footed enough to show me some of those moves?" He chuckled while they moved pass a joined couple locking lips. Blinking he turned to Yuu then just winked at her and ignored them. "Well it is the season..." Thinking a moment he was curious. "If ya don't mind me askin' why ya out here with me and not snuggled up with your beau? I'd be lyin' if I said ya were bad to look at."

"I've got more moves than you can handle." Glancing down she smiled. "Some of my moves are so hot they'd melt this ice." She laughed at her own corny line. The blonde's eyes flicked over to the couple and she smiled at the wink. "Maybe."
Yuu grinned at the compliment and replied, "I'm not tied to anyone at the moment. And don't count yourself so down, there's nothing wrong with being here with you. It certainly was a nice surprise to bump into you and Domo here." Yuurei pulled his arms around her. It was getting colder as the sky was darkening.
Lucia smiled and nodded as she saw a slight break in the cars and floated out onto the road, low to the ground so as not to be noticed. "I promise!" she called with a grin before turning towards the oncoming traffic.
There they were. The bright halogen headlights. The driver, her keen eyes noticed, was on a cell phone and only half paying attention to the road. Perfect. As it came closer Lucia's eyes began to soften and go round and wide slowly.
Oh. My. God. The kitten was scared suddenly. She didn't know what she was doing. What if she was wrong? What if this wasn't the way to get back? What if it was a special circumstance or even the sickness that made her go to the other world? Why -- 10 feet -- was she so stupid?-- 5 feet. She was going to die. Closing her eyes, the kitten tried to brace her body for a deadly impact knowing it was pointless and she would die -- 1 foot. "DOMO!!!" The kitten disappeared.
