It was late December and it started to get 'cold' in Los Demones, California. Typically, the definition of cold there was in the 40°s and 50°s. But this winter was unusually cold, dropping down in to the low 30°s. To most, this was a surprising and inconvenient phenomenon. To Ana Cruz, however, this was a time for fashion. She was able to experiment with winter fashion lines without having to travel to New York City. However, Ana's idea of winter fashion was that of high fashion, which tends to put appearances before function. That said, Ana was freezing in her somewhat see-through mini dress, even though she covered herself in a paper-thin winter 'coat'.

She hurried her way into her safe haven: the coffee shop. It would be fair to say that Ana had an addiction to coffee, which she believes is a better drinking habit that alcoholism, though she supposed she has been drinking too much of that as well lately. The stress of working with, or rather being abused by, Chic editor-in-chief Hannah Winter had finally gotten to her and she nearly quit. However, she didn't have the guts. Instead, she turned to alcohol to drink away her sorrows, and coffee to boost up her spirits. The two made quite an addictive combination.

After receiving her twenty-word order for coffee, she sat down alone at a small table for two and flipped through an entertainment magazine, catching up on what's new in the business and trying to make herself look busy - and not like a well-dressed woman who has nobody to spend time with.

The little bell dinged when Brodi quickly walked into the coffee shop. He wore a light sweater over a button down long sleeved shirt. He shivered as he closed the door behind him.

Growing up in Montana, he thought he'd be used to this kind of weather, but the constant California sun changed that.

He quickly walked up to the counter, and chatted with the girl at the counter a little before he ordered a black coffee. He walked over to the little spice counter and sprinkled some cinnamon and vanilla before grabbing a stir stick.

Ana briefly peeked up from her magazine and saw a recognizable face in the coffee shop. She wasn't too sure where or how she recognized him - but she has seem him, she remembered that much. How could she not remember his face? He was quite attractive and it has been a while since Ana last found herself in the company of a man for more than intoxicated night. Perhaps it was a time for that to change. After all, it was winter, the season of joy and new romances. Or was that spring? The seasons tend to blur together here.

Mustering some confidence (more than her usual high amounts), she took her cup of hot coffee and casually moved over to the spice rack next to the boy and sprinkled some extra cinnamon into her drink and stirred. She then pretended to first notice him and nonchalantly asked, "Do I know you from somewhere? You look very familiar."

Brodi stirred his coffee when Ana walked up, and gave her a smile before he leaned over and threw his stir stick in the trash. He looked back over to her and smiled, "Yeah, your from the Agency right?" He asked as he took his coffee. "I'm Brodi" He said as he held out his hand.

"Yes!" she exclaimed, a little to enthused. That's where she knew him, he was from the agency! And that name...Brodi. Why did that sound so familiar? She knew that name from somewhere. "Yes, I am from the agency. I'm a model, the name is Ana Cruz," she introduced herself proudly. First impressions count, so she better make a good one.

"Did you attend Sheldon and Holly Bratt's wedding? Or Lorenz Milton's Halloween Ball?" she asked, trying to figure out which agency event she may have met him. She hasn't spent much time around the agency building itself, especially since it started to undergo severe renovations. She's stepped foot in the office once - to sign herself a contract with Kurt Dalton, the newest co-president of Walk of Fame, and also her agent. She felt more self-entitled about this than she should - after all, he did have several hundred other more important clients. But Ana's ego was never one to autodeflate.

Brodi nodded and walked over to a nearby table. "Yeah, I was at both actually." He said as he sat down, "You might not have seen me at the wedding reception though, I stayed close to the door due to..." He paused, "Wardrobe problems." He laughed.

He leaned back in his seat and pulled his elbow up to rest on the back of his seat. "I was also dressed as the blue fox at the Ball." He mentioned as he rubbed his nose. "It was a little hard figuring out who everyone was." He laughed, "Turned out I had made a good impression on Lourdes Milton"

Blue fox...why did she remember that - oh! Ana quickly hid her face behind her coffee mug, remembering the details of that night a little more clearly. Was this the same man in the blue fox mask that she had flirted with in the beginning of the evening? That is, before she was interrupted by others. And he made an impression on Lourdes Milton? She can't compete with that!

"Lourdes Milton? Really?" she asked, not sounding surprised, but more curious and intrigued. "Did anything happen there, or was she just another girl flirting with you at the party?"
