 Briny walked along the beach, letting the salty breeze blow gently through his hair. It was early; everything was cast in a gray haze, and even the water seemed asleep, lapping quietly against the sand with hardly a sound. He liked this time of day, when he was up for it. Most of the time he slept in, but occasionally he would wake up early and walk along the seashore, looking out to the vast expanse of water that he had come to love so easily.
His gaze lingered on the long line that separated the water from the sky. That was where he and his family loved to go. But....that was all he ever loved, the sea. His sister had found someone; why was he having so much trouble? Was there something about him that was undesirable? Or maybe he just hadn't been around ehough namrah to find one. Well, he thought determinedly, as soon as I finish my walk, I shall go out and meet somebody.

 Mizushi's bobbed in the water, gently rocked by the lapping waves while trapped in a doze between sleep and wakefulness. It used to be that she could never find time alone like this, but now alone time was all she had. The rest of the Namrah "owned" by Ishie no longer lived in a group. They had parted ways right after a psychotic ghost joined the pack. It was for their own safety.
Okard had gone with her, at first. But he was becoming more independent. He know longer needed Mizushi to act as his shield. She had known this day was coming for a long time, but that didn't help to ease the loneliness.

Looking out to sea once more, Briny noticed something bobbing in the water. It looked almost like a rock, but it moved with the lapping waves instead of staying still, and it was obviously floating. In fact the more he looked at it, the less like a rock it appeared to be.
Curious, Briny diverted his course until he was walking into the water, enjoying the cool, salty wetness on his paws. He waded out as far as he could, and when he felt the water getting deep, he started to swim until he was right alongside the object. Still not quite sure of it, he reached out and gave it a gentle nudge with his nose.

Mizushi felt a nudge and figured it was a stick bumping against her. She lifted a head and yawned, then seemed to freeze up mid yawn when she opened an eye and saw that what bumped her was not a stick, but a Namir. She blinked once, then twice, making sure that the Namir was in fact there. "Oh, hello."

Briny would have laughed had he known that he had just been mistaken for a stick, were it not that he himself had just discovered that what he had mistaken for a rock had turned out to be a Namir. Feeling his face redden just a bit, he moved himself back a little bit in case the sleepy namir wanted to stretch out. "Hello. I'm sorry if I woke you up; I saw you from the shoreline and couldn't tell......if you were okay." He figured that would be an easy enough stretch from not entirely knowing what he had been paddling toward; had he known, he certainly would have swum out there to check on her anyway.

Mizushi gently bobbed in the water as she listens to what the male has to say. Her lips form a smile and she nods her head in thanks, fully believing his reasoning. It made sense after all, to check on a floating body in the water. "I am quite alright, thank you for checking on me though. I am sorry if I had caused you worry."
She stretched before rolling onto her back sea weed clinging to her claws. It must have been drifting in the water, only to have the journey end when it goes ensnared in her claws.

Smiling now, Briny shrugged as he bobbed in the water. "I'm just glad you really weren't drifting around in trouble. You look like you like spending time in the water. I do too, but I'd rather have a boat beneath me."
He noticed Mizushi's shell and wondered at it, but felt that saying something outright would be a bit rude. He coughed fidgeted a little in the water. "My name is Briny. What's your name, Miss?"

"I love the water, it is my home you could say." Mizushi began the rough task of scraping the seaweed off her claws while completely at ease. The rocking of the waves beneath her was soothing and made her feel right at home. She let the strings of seaweed loose in the water before turning her gaze back to Briny. "It is a pleasure to meet you Briny, I am Mizushi."

"Your home....that sounds really nice. Being surrounded by the sea all the time, the sound, the smell...." He turned a bit pink and smiled. "Sorry if I ramble; I haven't had all that much interaction since I've grown up." He tried a formal nod, bending a bit low and getting seawater dabbed on his nose for his trouble. He smiled more, trying not to splutter. "Pleasure to meet you Miss Mizushi." Watching the disentangled seaweed float away, he fought for a topic. "So....you're out to sea a lot, it seems. Do you eat a lot of fish?"

Mizushi quietly listened, smiling at this male's obvious love for the waters that currently surrounded them. She rolled to float on her stomach and began the task of lazely heading back towards shallower waters. There it would be much easier for them to have a conversation. "Quite often. And as for fish, every now and then?"
She flashed a smile at Briny. "I prefer fruit from the shore though. How about yourself?"

Happy that Mizushi had apparently not noticed his little nose-dip, Briny settled for paddling beside her as she began to swim toward the shore. "I like the sea too, but more on a boat than actually swimming in it. It's really great to see the ocean just stretch out for miles, and the sun even looks better over the sea than it does on land."
He tilted his head and pondered for a minute. "Well....fruit's definitely good if you spend a lot of time at sea, and I do like fish, but cooked and not raw; I could never really get the hang of raw fish. But I do like trying new fruits that I can find. Like have you ever had the yellow one that is shaped like a star when you cut it?"
