It seemed like forever since she had started walking. Her body had protested the long distance walking, but she had heard whispers of a pride upon the wind - a pride that fought the evils of demons, and she just had to seek it.
She had long since been without a pride to call a home, and the conditions of this one seemed ideal, maybe she could join - of course, she had to find it first. Little did she know she had stumbled onto the lands. She had scented the border, but decided she could get instructions from the inhabitance.
Despite that, she walked a bit further before pausing - seeking out any of the inhabitance and noting any escape routes in the case of danger. She sighed, staying here, and hoping someone would sense a distubance at their border and come, instead of her having to venture too far into the lands.

Moto felt light on her feet again. It was as if choosing her Chache'mwezi had taken a load off of her, and healed some of the tears and cracks in her heart and soul. When her current cubs were grown...she would step down. And she would make sure Kai was ready by then. He already had the makings for a new Mwezi. He was like her...yet saw certain things differently. It would be good...just as the moon changed phases, so would the Mwezi of the pride.
An unfamiliar scent caught her nose and she frowned. Well now...who'd snuck past the Asikari? She dropped down into the grasses and quickly stalked forward, ready for danger. But the lioness she saw did not seem like one to cause trouble. Raising a brow, she stood a good two lion-lengths from the stranger.
"I must warn you, you tread on dangerous lands."

The pale female gave a wince as she realized the female just a few paces away - too deep in thought, she didn't know she wasn't supposed to be here after all - in fact, she tried to attract attention, but sometimes it didn't seem to work. Her mind whirred, processing the best answer to the statement.
"I apologize, " She took a step back, lowering her head. "I simply... wished to obtain some information and then be on my way." Her voice was purposely raspy, to make herself seem weak or small - unthreatening and fragile, even though she was far from helpless.
Red eyes shifted, searched the female with a pouch hanging gently at her chest - a lion so covered in old scars.

Moto blinked...and smiled slightly. "I am sorry if I scared you. But there are lands north of us that are not kind, especially to one with your coloring." She sat, to show she had no intention of causing harm. She kept forgetting her size and all the scars from Hakuna's claws and teeth made her look more warrior than the healer she was.
"My pride and I try to warn others when they approach here, to keep them safe. We never know when the pride to the north will attack us." She looked the other female over. There was something...not quite right about the way she held herself. "Perhaps I can help you with the information you need?"

Nuru slightly relaxed, glad she wasn't seen as a threat, especially with the other lioness sitting. "I am looking for the pride that hunts the demons. I have heard whispers on the four winds of such a pride, but not were to find it..."
She wondered - she had wondered for a long time after the whispers had started. After her own pride had fallen apart in a ruthless battle to near death, she survivors, including herself, had scattered into the winds, scarred from battle, mentally and physically.
She lowered her head slightly with the memories, but let her bloody gaze fall on the scarred lioness.

Ah! So another had come seeking their pride! Was it to call for help? To join? Or simply refuge for a time?
"This is that pride. We are the Mwako'bi'Giza. Why is it that you seek us?" Moto could hope it was another to bolster their numbers. Even those who did not fight the demons directly were VERY important to the pride.

The pale female visibly relaxed, almost sagging in relief. She held herself together nonetheless. She wasn't home free yet, as she didn't believe such a pride would accept her with no problems.
"I came to fight on the side of the Mwako," Nuru spoke sincerally and she believed it with all her heart. A pride dedicated to making the world better. It appealed to her sense of justice and she could only hope to do here what she could not as a child.
"I have come a long way, and I wish to help if I can... If you will let me..."

Moto was glad the female felt as if she could relax. That was a good sign. "You come seeking to fight beside us? What reasons bring you here? What reason do you have to fight? And what could you bring to this pride?"

"My old pride was destroyed," Nuru started, she never told her story to anyone before. "There was so much hate between two groups, I was a part of the resistance group, even though I was young." Nuru gave a small frown, lowering her red eyes.
"When I heard there was a pride that was fighting to stop demons, I sought it out. I don't want something bad spreading in the world," she told the scarred lioness, looking back up at her.

Moto nodded, glad another had come to help stop the evil spreading. "We do need extra paws. I must ask...Do you understand the risks that come with living in this pride? That the demons to the north of us may try to overtake us at any time, and that death is a high possibility." She had to ask, to be sure. As much as they needed bodies, she didn't want to rope in someone who did not truly know what they were getting into.

Nuru gave a small tilt of her head - a nod of understanding. "I do understand, but when I heard, I could not sit by idly..." Nuru gave a soft smile. "I will aid in any way possible, even if it means giving up my own life."
Nuru spoke with conviction - she couldn't allow such a horrible thing to spread within the world.

The Mwezi smiled, and nodded. "Then I welcome you to the pride. And I pray your life is not needed." She turned towards the inside of the pride. "Come...I'll explain things better to you on the way in. We'll find you a den, and you'll have a few days to get used to things, before choosing a path within the pride."

"Thank you," she bowed her head lightly, a small smile playing on her normally somber maw. She moved from her sitting position to follow the scarred female further into the lands. She knew she had a lot to learn, but she was willing to do so for the safety of, not only this pride, but for something far greater.
