It was tine to do a little undercover work. Talayeh was a lady that always wanted to be a girl, and the best way to keep a more youthful personality she needed to learn what was the more 'latest' things going on in a mortal's life. It was the easiest way to find some boys to play with, after all. It certainly would date her if she spoke in a tone that was beyond even their elder's lives. A woman never exposed how old she was, even if she was timeless, in a way.

She phased herself out to looking as normal as she could, hiding everything that would expose her as something other than a pretty, yet average lioness. The only things left visible to the naked eyes was her white coat, eye markings, and her orange tattoo-like markings that lingered above her paws. There, that would work!

Pity she couldn't really make herself a little younger, but she despised using so much of her power on just a little information trip.

Now, to set herself up.

She lingered near a calm watering hole, the time of day just a bit after the hottest part of the afternoon. A small little tree offered pitiful shade, but Tala didn't mind. Her eyes were subtly looking around, hoping to catch sight of someone to speak to, preferably a little younger than a veteran adult. Hmph.

If there was one thing Lia despised most at the moment, he'd have to say it was his dark fur. It could be the coolest part of the day and still the male would be panting and searching for shade. It was as if the sun was his mortal enemy, if it wasn't so distant and passive in the sky above. Still, Lia could always feel the warm hate touching his fur no matter where he lurked.

But that was no reason to be bitter. Unless he wanted to become completely nocturnal, Lia just endured the sun all the same like the other lions. Though to do that, he often found himself needing many breaks of shade and refreshment. And for now, he needed to quench his thirst.

Flicking his tail lightly while pacing casually, it took hardly anytime for him to finally come across one of the pride's watering holes. Just the sight of the liquid took the edge off the heat, and he almost sighed as he allowed his paws to dip deep in the water. It was only then that he noticed the scent of another. Glancing over, he quirked a brow at the sight of a pale lioness. Lucky feline able to avoid the harsh heat even if only slightly.

"Greetings there."

...was that something new, now? Talayeh had to admit, she hadn't seen anyone do that before. Eyeing his black coat, though, she might understand a tad. The sun had never bothered her too much, but with her white coat it was understandable. She knew that dark seemed to hold heat, when maybe stepping on a darker stone and feeling a small surge of pain.

Still, odd.

"Cooling off?" she purred, her tail curling around her. He was cute enough, and it would be nice to pretend to be 'normal' for a little while. "The shade is pretty pathetic, but I'd be happy to offer what I can share," she smirked as she spoke.

The boy glanced upward at the wavering skyline before nodding to confirm her question. He hadn't expected any company or witnesses while he was to frolic in the cool water, and felt himself becoming somewhat shy. But he mentally shrugged it off, finding embarrassment to be second to his body temperature.

"Oh?" Lia lifted a brow at the other's offer as he sized up the source of the said shade. It was indeed a slender tree, but the branches spread far enough to allow a variety of patterns to blotch the ground. There would be enough room for two, easily. "Thank you for the offer. Um....I'll be there in just a moment however...." The water was too much a temptress to abandon now, what with his paws soaked through. But the lion made sure to move quickly so not to rudely make the other feline wait. Stepping further into the water, Lia allowed the liquid to drench through his fur all the way up to his upper neck. The sensation was simply....euphoric.

With a sigh of gratitude and a relaxed smile, the lion turned back and jogged out of the water hole, prancing as he made it back to land. He felt like a snake that had shed away old and brittle skin. And to shake off the water in a small shower of sprinkles only added to the refreshing feeling.

Making sure he wasn't dripping too much, the male finally made his way over to the lioness and tree. Though he was thoughtful enough to sit at a comfortable distance. After all, who wanted to smell the close company of a wet animal?

"I thank you for the share, I admit it was unexpected." Then he glanced over the other's form. His nose and eyes were true, she wasn't a part of this pride at all. And her eyes....there was something odd about them in a respectable way. Like she knew more than anyone her age should. But perhaps she was just a well learned traveler?...

So pleased she could almost feel the purr within her chest, Talayeh quickly calmed herself down. She wasn't really in the most frisky of moods, but it was still quite fun to play the part, anyway. She had to firmly remind herself that she was merely around to gather a little information, small bits that wouldn't mean much to anyone but herself.

"It's quite a pleasure," she said with a nod, "to share a little of what one has." At least a little shade to share was better than nothing. It was easily the best way to get close to someone without any risks. Sharing meals only went so far; it seemed that they could quickly get out of hand if you didn't accurately guess how hungry the share recipient was.

"I'm certain that the sun is not the kindest with a pelt as intriguing as yours; does the water help with that?" she asked curiously. It seemed...odd to go into the water like that, but she had never attempted to indulge herself in that manner. It always seemed a little too....messy, even if water usually made one clean.

Oblivious to any inner jitters the female may be having at the moment, Lia' continued a casually grooming of his front paw. A sort of habit to keep him relax in the company of new individuals. It was already working quite well, along with the ease of the shade to put his body to a restful state. Finished with one paw, the male tucked all his limbs in with a curl of his tail to fall loosely over them.

"Ah yes, especially when nature itself can be so selfish. A little help from others can go a long way." Perhaps it was just from the teachings of his own pride that he was so open to the idea of sharing. After all, he was still young and hadn't experienced all the threats and dangers life had to deal out.

Lia' gave a soft nod as the other inquired of his fur type. "Well, the water helps on my account. Heh, not sure if it works on everyone though." Especially when these lands were known to have crocodiles lurking in them....yeah that'd be a major factor. Grinning to that small detail, the male shook his head before tilting his head at the other. "Forgive me, but I have yet to catch your name. Mine's Li'annam."

Strange. At least her idea had been on the spot, with a lion such as his carrying a dark coat. It was quite beautiful though...shaking herself mentally back, she had to remind herself. No. Stop. She was more than just what she could be, and she could control it.

Biting her tongue just enough to shake her haze out of her devious mind, she nodded towards him, offering a playful smile. "Perhaps because I have not offered it yet," she teased. She pondered for a split moment on giving him a false name; then quickly thought against it. Why bother? Almost no mortal would know her by her given name, only what she was; and she wasn't going to share that delicious tidbit, at least not yet.

"Talayeh," she said. "Quite a pleasure to meet you, Li'annam." She shifted her shoulders a bit beofre continuing. "Am I correct to assume you live in these lands?" It was always easy to tell when she was near the borders of a pride's lands, as the scent that marked those borders was always evident. Sometimes, you could still come across strangers daring the borders, though.

The young lion laughed lightly to her obvious reply. "Well....no you're right, you haven't yet. It's why I bothered to ask, if I must say so." How odd though for him to have to prompt a name from someone. Though it was no big deal, he still found it an interesting experience to interact with outsiders. To see how they behaved and what they felt of the world around them. Always different and always new.

"Oh, Talayeh?" It had a nice ring to it, if he was to be honest. Or maybe it was his own subtle jealousy being a pesk again. Afterall, he'd grown rapidly tired of his own name after so many jokes of it's feminine sound. But as they say, water under the ridge and nothing more. Canting his head with a nod of gratitude, the boy scanned his eyes over the lands. "Yep, these are my birth lands. I've yet to wander beyond them, sad to say. But it's a comfortable and safe location, and that's dear enough to me. What about yourself? White pelts aren't all that common in these parts."

She smiled, and she was so content she could purr. "Why, thank you." She always loved a good compliment, and none could be better than one for her name.

"Well, if the wandering bug tugs at your heart, you'd most likely enjoy the world outside of your home. Not that I'm trying to convice you to leave," she said with a smile. "No, but if you ever leave, it's full of things you'll only have the chance to see once." Most of it for her was just being a goddess, an the ability to hide one's self at will made life very interesting. It was always fun to listen in to other's conversations, or to instantly avoid that one annoying lion that just won't leave you alone.

Happily, this boy was certainly not one of those.

"I'm from lands that are everywhere and no where. No real place to call my birth home," she lied through her teeth, but no one would be able to tell. Besides, it wasn't like she was completely lying; she just wasn't telling him the complete truth. The gods were everywhere and no where, here yet not. "So, white coats are rare around these parts? I must say, I do hope the sun doesn't torture you and your family too much, then."

Fuzzy ears moved back curiously to her words of the outside lands. They sounded promising, if not vague and teasing. "Is that so? Often times I catch sight of wanderers with lonesome or depressed expressions. I had thought that was a common side affect of life outside a pride." Had he been wrong this whole time? To think that a group thrived happier than others?

"In any case, you're certainly wearing no frown. Despite these mysterious lands you speak of." He chuckled, unaware of the higher being he was chatty with and her words of greater meaning. To him, all was still very new, and he was happy enough to absorb new information without pestering for it's details or history. Not right away, at least.

With his tail flicking idly before landing on the cooler grass, Lia managed a simple shrug. "We live well enough, taking our traits in stride. It seems harsh on everyone when one observes the affects. Especially the elderly, unfortunately. Hn, I'd hate to experience that for myself."

She listened, curious. Sad faces, depressed? Certainly there were always souls like that, but to only see those? Perhaps these lands were towards the end of a common, long journey. Or perhaps just a little more harsher than some of the lush savanna lands she herself had wandered into.

"Mysterious?" she teased with a giggle. "A little, and a little boring. Still, it reflects me well, and I don't think I'd be able to say in one place for too long." She thought about that, and decided against it. Thinking about sitting still only wanted to make her run away.

Still, she couldn't help but think about other things. Like the sun burning if you had such a dark coat. Or being tied to one place, whether it be family or duty. "I'll say you get alone," she smirked. "First time I've seen a lion cool themselves off in water."

Her ears perked upwards. Oh, bugger. Sometimes this was the downfall of being a god. There were times when she was left alone, and then there were other times where she could feel that annoying pull of someone needing her. Right. More like just wanting to use her power, who cared what the goddess herself felt like doing. With a sigh, she shook her head and simply disappeared. Making it obvious that she was not what she seemed, and ethereal. She would visit him again, hopefully. He was fun.
