 I was on the LJ Code Geass comm when I saw this post claiming there will be a third season for 2010. It's been confirmed here.
So, what do you guys think? Do you think this is awesome, or should they just have left it as is? I'm a little excited, to tell the truth. What do you think it will be about?
Edit: I'm not sure anymore if it will be a new season, an OVA, or a movie, because at Lelouch's birthday party in Japan (yes they actually had a party with all the vocie actors), Noriaki Sugiyama (Rivalz) kept saying 'now that the TV anime is over...' It might be a movie... That'd be pretty cool too.

Anyways, I'm thinking it's an OVA. If it was going to be a movie, then they would say movie in the announcement to bring up hype. By saying "project" it creates hype even if it's only going to be like 3 more episodes via OVA.

im glad there is more code geass. but to be honest i don't want another season. sure a movie would be great or an ova but not continuing the story. it would be pointless. now if they made a new story that would be great. like if they animate one of the mangas or make an anime that provides background of geass. just as long as they leave it r2 alone.

A new season would mean a new conflict, since season 2 ended without a lot room for a continuation. I hope it is and I'm looking forward to it.

I sincerely hope there won't be a third season. The end of R2 is my favorite anime series ending, and I can't imagine anything good coming out of trying to continue the story from there. An OVA or movie might be okay, though I'll have to reserve judgment until we have more details.
