Light tail swept across the light rubble of dust on the ground as the young lion reclined casually in the meager grass. It was a boring location, with only sparse patches of grass growing between stretches of pale dirt and gravel. But it was also the best location to find interesting bugs and lizards. Between all the different shapes and colors, there was no end to what one would find here. And besides that, the day was thus far slow and boring.
Lia' sighed his disappointment as purple eyes glanced around him. Just where had all his siblings run off to? The day was still young, so how early had they woken to wander away? Pinning back his soft ears, the male shrugged it off before slapping a particularly fat and unsuspecting lizard under his paw.
What now?

From seemingly nowhere, like a specter across the plains, a white lioness was close and watching a dark juvenile. It seemed he had something interesting... Something she wanted. Not really. She only wanted it because he had it, and she wasn't even sure of what it was. But it wasn't hers, and it was moving. Both were strong motivators and she slunk closer, her ears turned back so far the black was no longer visible. Approaching, she would seem to be only a floating patch of red on a white mist or cloud.
Coeur hadn't the faintest of where she was, if they were pridal lands, and even more so, if she was in danger... But none of that mattered. She was singular in her mission of entertainment.

Heh, this one was quite the squirmer! Li'a quirked a brow as the smaller creature struggled under his slight paw, surprised that it hadn't bite him yet. But really, the lion was doing this all for just harmless entertainment. Though the poor lizard wasn't convinced and Lia' congratulated the reptile in his efforts.
But what's this now?! With a sudden tug and a pop sound, the lion found his paw to flatten on the ground. W...where did it go? Stunned, the boy raised his paw only to find the abandoned tail left twitching in the dirt. Amazing! To have such a trick and agility for a master escape! Grinning and amused, Lia' scanned the grass around him for any darting movements of the retreating lizard. It was only then that he noticed the lurking pale form some distance away.
Instantly alert, the lion leaped to his paws ready for anything. "Hail there, rogue!"

Coeur's eyes narrowed as she saw the wiggling mass dart away. But no real harm done, there was something larger yet and more entertaining still. She stopped in her tracks, paw still lifted above the ground. He called out to her. 'Rogue'. Chances are, then, that she was a rogue in a pride's lands. Otherwise he would have called her 'pretty' or 'beautiful' or 'adorable' or 'stunning'. Or at least a 'lady' would have sufficed.
Was he some kind of guard or something? Cute. Quaint. She smiled and cocked her head as she straightened up. A flutter of her eyelashes, and in a cooing tone, "Yes? Can I help you, Sir?" At least she could be polite.

Ah, at least she appeared to be a listening individual and not those that outright ignored others. Straightening his shoulders and flicking his tail casually, Lia' nodded to the pale lioness. Though he couldn't keep the confusion off his face as she blinked a little too much. Was there dust in her eyes? Shrugging it off, the lion approached slowly.
"You can help with giving your name, for starts. And stating your reasons for traveling here." It was usually a placid concern as far as his pride cared. Almost any and all animals of kind nature were allowed on these lands. Except this specific lioness looked more like she was hunting or even spying on something. A test of character was in order.
"In any case, my name is Li'annam, son of the Healer of the Matem pride."

Hmph. He wasn't very fun. Too proper and formal. With a heavy sigh, she answered. "I'm Coeur. And as you said, I am a rogue. I wander, simply put it's what I do. I don't mean to impose or trespass, by no means whatsoever. But it's very nice to meet you, Li'annam. Mind if I call you Li'an? Less of a mouthful." She smiled and said every word with a warm tone.
She had no idea of any suspicions the adolescent had. Typically, they would have been deserved, but so far, she'd been up to only the best behavior. As long as it got her somewhere interesting. And she'd wait to see how acting sweet panned out before taking any drastic measures.

The male stood still before giving a brief shrug. "If you must and it helps you remember. Then yes, Li'an is fine." Though he wasn't used to it, he could adapt if it was just for this short encounter. "And, so long as your intentions are as safe as you claim, you are more than welcome to cross these lands." Shifting to walk casually, the male adol twisted his tail as an invite to follow along. After all, the closer he was to his own pride members the more confident in safety he'd feel.
"So, no true reason has brought you here? Perhaps hunger, or even boredom?"

Coeur took his signal to follow, without really realizing, and set after him. The black of her ears was leaning forward. For as blank as his guard was, he seemed interesting for some reason. Thinking, she tilted her head, what had brought her along this path? A small 'hmm' came from her throat and her pale eyes stared at the white and wispy clouds above.
"Both of them, I suppose maybe." She rolled her shoulders and grinned, though he wasn't looking. "Would you say there's entertainment or food readily available? Don't worry, I don't need much of either to get by."

The boy shrugged with a grin to the others small but polite comments. "Really? I was simply guessing, since I haven't a clue what a rogue's life is like. Such a strange lifestyle to me, though intriguing all the same." Dark paws stopped in their marching as the male tilted his head in thought. Hnn, did they have those things to offer?
"Haha, I'm afraid we don't have entertainment set for such sudden arrivals. If it had been a longer stay, perhaps you'd catch some fun sights here. Although we do have bits of food set aside for quick needs. The portions are small, so it should suit your appetite just fine." With a nod, they continued on their path, heading towards a small collection of boulders massed together. It was just big enough for one lion to crawl in between, where a storage of dry meats could be found.
Glancing at the pale female, Lia asked. "So, dark or light meat?"

Coeur laughed lightly. "It's... Interesting, the rogue life, that is. It certainly has it's ups and downs, though I just can't see myself settling down just yet."
A long stay? Ehhh, not really her style. "Oh, don't worry, I shouldn't want to impose on you for very long, if at all." She tilted her head and looked at him with a gleam in her eye, "Though if you do have a bit of food, I suppose I prefer the darker meat." Coeur was not one to pass up on a free bit of food. Her black-tipped tail flicked and she picked up her pace a little bit, seeing the large rocks ahead, the faint scent wafted from them to the lions, and she licked he lips, only just now realizing that she was indeed a little bit hungry.

Lia sparked a small laugh himself. "Settle down? You think the pride life is any easier? I'd say it's just as much work, with only some more tender care to support you." He grinned fondly, proud to be with such a family oriented group. It seemed to make life a little more brighter, more endurable.
Nodding to her food preference, the male lion moved along the edge of the rocks. Finding one of the quicker openings, the boy plucked out a slab of meat, it's scent dried but still a recent kill. That should be enough to hold the guest over. Placing the piece on the ground, Lia stepped away by hopping atop the pile of boulders. Always wise to respect one's space while eating, after all.
"Well, enjoy."

Coeur pursed her lips, not seeing what he was about the prospect of a pride. "But you've always got others to fall back on, haven't you?" She furrowed her brows, and looked towards the rock. When he pulled a kill from the stash, she licked her lips, and made sure to make her way daintily towards it however hungry she was, and gingerly, she tore into the meat, and a churr came from her throat.
Very cat-like indeed, she sat back up and wrapped her tail around her feet and wiped her maw with a paw, keeping her fur the same pristine white. "Thank you kindly, Li'an."
She resumed eating and finished quickly, and when no more was left, she thanked Li'an and walked away. The end.
