Idea 1: Secret Santa!
It's one of the awesome things I've always looked forward to during Christmas. 3nodding
There will be one person who will monitor the event. He/She is responsible for picking partners randomly using the fish bowl method.
There will be a minimum amount/value for the gift so that it would be fair to all. There is no limit to your generosity though! It's all in the spirit of Christmas after all. wink
[If you want more details about this is gonna work, feel free to ask. xD]
Idea 2: Art Contest!
The contest isn't limited to drawings. Poems, Short stories or jingles are also fun. 3nodding This may take a lot more work for the participants, so I suggest having a worthy prize to serve as motivation. Since the little event will only last for 9 days, participants are advised to get a headstart so that they won't have trouble beating the deadline. Or submission of entries may be extended. whee

Secret Santa. I work 12 hours/day in one place, another 4 at home translating and another 4 hours making school projects. I can't write or draw anymore! xp

secret santa! biggrin but after the event would be good, I only have 7.5k (and I will only have more to buy a gift if Admiral gets back to me about whether I'm disqualified or not for missing a day because of my computer) sweatdrop

Secret Santa is a simple gift exchange that gives us each an opportunity to give an individual a gift. Initially, the gift exchange is done in secret and the recipient doesn't know who is going to give them a gift. Later, or at the time of gifting, the Secret Santa can let their person know it was from them.
RULES:
- All gifts must have a minimum price, to be fair to all. [Does 5k as minimum sound good?] You may send multiple gifts to add up to that price.
Your generosity isn't limited though. ;o
- All gifts should be labeled as GUNBUSTER SECRET SANTA and sent anonymously.
- Please try your best to meet deadlines! ^^;
- HAVE FUN!
HOW WE'RE GONNA DO THIS:
Okay. I'm not the best event planner, but I'll try my best. sweatdrop
Since Admiral put me in charge of this (or atleast told me to setup a thread. xD), this is how we're gonna do it:
STEP 1: Just post stating that you want to join. Your name will be put on the Secret Santa Participants. DEADLINE FOR JOINING: ? [TBA. Suggestions? Does December 18, Friday, sound good?]
STEP 2: After all names are in, me, Syelle, will list down your names on pieces of paper. There will be two copies: one for a bowl labeled GIVER and another bowl labeled RECEIVER.
Suppose I've put all papers into the bowls. I'll begin the drawing.
First, I'll pick out a piece of paper from the GIVER bowl. Suppose I picked Reni-chan's name. Next, I'll pick out a name in the RECEIVER bowl. Suppose I picked Admiral's name. That means Reni is Admiral's Santa (Reni is the one who would give a gift to Admiral). I'll repeat this until there are no more names in the bowls.
STEP 3: After the drawing, I'll be sending each of you guys a PM telling you who you are assigned Santa to. At that point, you should start shopping for your gift. UPDATE YOUR WISHLISTS, PEOPLE! If you still don't know what to give, you can ask me to ask that person what type of gift he/she wants.
STEP 4: On the 23rd-24th, you should send your gift to your receiver. Label your gift as: GUNBUSTER SECRET SANTA. You can also add a personal message. Remember, this is Secret Santa so your gift should be sent ANONYMOUSLY. ALL PRESENTS ARE MEANT TO BE OPENED ON THE 25TH! ;] After the presents are opened, you may reveal your selves to your receiver. 3nodding
