From the alleys of the grand New York City that everyone knew and loved, a lone figure stepped out from the shadows, hands in the pockets of his light gray trenchcoat. The figure had a long sandy brown braid that fell down to near his waist, resting against the black belt that held his scarlet red pants in place. White boots clicked with each step, but it didn't catch many people's attention. The man seemed uncaring, with not a thought in the world. However, this was far from the truth. Turning back into the alley, he stepped deeper in the darkness, to where he and his little sister made their home. Coming to a gathering of boxes, debris, and trash, the man sat down amidst it all and looked across the unlit firepit to the little girl before him. She was barely ten, with shock blue hair that fell in silky strands down around her knees. She was cute, and lovable, dressed in the fineist dress she could wish for. Literally. Sighing, Kale leaned forward and pulled out the stolen loafs of bread he had gotten. He had had to steal it this time, considering that wishing for food too much tired him out. "Here, sis. Eat."

The girl took the offered bread, wrapping her small, pale fingers around it, but she hesitated before taking a bite out of it. She wanted to make sure her brother was feeding himself as well rather than neglecting to care for himself. She disliked him having to steal food to survive, but what else could they do? She refused to let him overdo things, especially with no way to pay him back for everything he had done for her. Finally, watching her brother with sparkling blue eyes, she tore a chunk of the loaf off and nibbled on it.
The girl, Maia, was no more than ten years old, and her appearance was somewhat odd to others. She was fair-skinned and small, not quite frail but not strong either. She had very long naturally, or unnaturally depending on how one views it, silver-blue hair and large deep midnight blue eyes that revealed her optimism about life. Despite the conditions she and her brother--though he was not blood related--lived in, she had a supremely positive outlook about life, always pointing out the good rather than the bad.
Maia turned her bright gaze away briefly to tear off another piece of bread, but she quickly resumed watching her brother. "You're awfully quiet," she commented after a moment. "Is something bothering you?"

Kale sighed heavily, watching Maia eat, he replied to her question as he tried to get comfortable on the ground. "I'm just worried about you, as always. I'm still trying to find us a home, but no luck so far." For the last few years, Kale had been trying hard, without success, to find them a home. While Maia could have wished for it long ago, he had told her not to. To alter reality in order to find a home would be a false life. He also didn't know how to answer such a wish, and so his powers would answer randomly, something that had always ended badly for him in the past. So he had told her to never wish for it in his hearing. Pulling out a small hunk of metal, he began tinkering with it using small tools for such purposes that he produced from a coat pocket.
"What can I get for you, Maia?"

Maia tilted her head slightly, still watching Kale. "I don't want anything right now," she replied. At the moment, there was nothing she needed, and she didn't want Kale to wear himself out. Pulling her hair out of her face, she leaned back on her hands and stared up at the sky. Either way, she didn't know what else to ask for, since she understood why she couldn't wish for a home. But as far as she was concerned this was a fine enough life. She got to see and experience things that most others didn't because they were too busy with their work and their families. Sure, she and her brother sometimes struggled, but she preferred this over the vague memories she had of her past. Those few memories were enough--she didn't care to know more about it.
Sometimes though, she wished something exciting would happen, though she never asked it. Her young mind had pieced together that if it meant altering reality to and extreme to get them a home it would also alter reality maybe even more to ask for something to happen. So she avoided it.

Sighing, he pulled out a small doll. It was a barbie, completely new and lovely, with plenty of accessories. It was still in a box, too! Kale smirked and tossed it to Maia. "A little girl made a wish at me for this, and then ran screaming when it showed up. I'm guessing you might like it." It was true, though the girl hadn't run screaming. He'd taken the doll and run, hoping to avoid notice.

Maia caught the box and examined it for a long moment. Inside was an odd doll with a body that was disproportionate to that of a real human, but she had seen younger girls with them. Being ten, it didn't really catch her interest, but she wasn't going to say anything. After all, it couldn't just go to waste, since it had been more of an accident than anything, and it was the thought that counted. Maybe she could find someone to give it to while she was wandering some time. Smiling, Maia turned her gaze back to Kale. "Thanks," she said, setting it aside for now.

They had been silent for a while now, each being left to their own thoughts while many a person walked through their camp. None attempted to hurt them, for they feared Kale for some unknown reason. Kale himself simply ignored them unless they got too close to Maia, in which case a simple glare sent them scurrying along. Twilight had fallen on the world, and Kale knew it was time for them to go. Standing slowly and crouching to lift Maia up into his arms, he smiled. "Come, Maia. We must leave now and find a new place to sleep." They had to continue moving, for if the Brotherhood, as they were called, were to find him he would be screwed.

After being dropped off at a random street corner, Eli paid his Taxi Driver, his head throbbed and he sipped more of his water he'd gotten in the airport. He looked about, the two immediate things he could do was either, head to Central Park, or head to the Museum of art. He closed his eyes and flipped a coin. Head (1) would be the museum. Tails (2) would be the park.
Flipping the coin he caught it and flipped it once more into the palm of his other hand, peering into the cup that his hand made his decision was made.
[Exit to: Museum!]

Walking to her apartment, if you could call such a large place an apartment, Felicia's place took up the entire top floor of the building. Not that she had ever cared money was never hard to get with her specialties, even though she never stole money she would still do the occasional job for a crime boss. Once home she began her preparations. Going to the bathroom Felicia pulled out the face cream she used to make her skin much lighter looking and rubbed it on before placing a black mask on. She then put a hair net over her head and placed the her long white wig thought to be Black Cat's hair. With her appearance now that of the Black Cat's Felicia got on her "Helping Hand" body suit and "Cat Claw" gloves. Changing the contacts to the clear ones that showed off her cat like eyes she added her grappling hook and earrings studs. Lastly Felicia put on the boots since night fall was only a half an hour away and the police should be showing up soon. "I've come to deliver some bad luck...." "....To bad you crossed a Black Cat."

Hearing the police sirens and seeing the flashing lights Felicia smiled, it was time to begin. Opening her window she slipped out before jumping off towards the closest building, using her "Cat Claws" she was able to catch on to the stone and climb up. She continued to use this method, occasionally using her grappling hook to get back to the museum. (exit) "I've come to deliver some bad luck...." "....To bad you crossed a Black Cat."

In a cold, damp alleyway somewhere in the ghettos of New York City, a teenaged girl was sobbing. She wore a dirty old sweater with more than worn jeans. Her platinum blonde hair had certainly seen better days... the bun in the back had all but fallen apart, and the straight sides were frayed. She munched on some food she had found in a dumpster. But she wasn't crying for her horrible situation.
Her older brother had loved cheeseburgers, and the formerly thrown-out sandwich she was eating reminded her of him... of seeing him... and his blood. She sobbed for all the people she had scarred as she ate, and hoped to be left alone.

Having left the park when the weird teacher guy got busy Tai Li was back to walking down the streets on her hands. As she was walking Tai Li noticed a girl in dirty worn out cloths eating a sandwich. "Hey why are you all dirty?" Tai Li asked not realizing she was currently in a long sleeve worn out purple shirt, black jeans and purple chucks. "My name is Tai Li who are you?" It was weird this girl had caught Tai Li's attention over all the others she had past in this big city, and she wasn't sure why.

The homeless girl's eyes strange, silver eyes shifted to look at Tai. She threw her food on the ground, jumping to her feet without a word. She took off past the newcomer at certainly above-average speed, blinking away tears of desperation.
"I'm no one... go away... you'll end up just like all the rest," she said as she darted past into the street. She darted around the corner, shoving people out of her way as she ran for all that she was worth... with her physical superiority, probably around thirteen miles an hour.

Tai Li jumped back on to her feet and began running after the girl. She was very fast it surprised Tai Li just how fast the girl was going but she was still able to keep her with in her sight. This was due to Tai Li's many travels and knack for getting in to trouble, it had added up over the years and made her a fast runner. "Hey wait up. Why are you running away from me?" Tai Li called out as she ran as fast as she could.

Damn! Not one of these unshaking kindness types again! she thought to herself.
She ducked in between two buildings as she struggled to escape, shouting, "Because I hate people like you!" with falsified anger. She took off around another corner, hoping to shake Tai... although the other woman would be able to hear her heavy footfalls.
