Sleepily she opened one eye, and then the next. Looking around, Sara couldn't believe anyone could stay this long with her, as she spied Erebus curled up with his back to hers. It had been three days so far, and yet he hadn't gone running screaming into the night . . . or day for that matter. Laying her head back on the soft ground of her cave, she decided to doze for a few more minutes before she started the day. It wasn't but five minutes later she felt something playing with the end of her tail. She figured it was the dragon, and giggled lightly before yawning. Looking in the direction of her tail, she found a mouse messing with the peacock feather and shrieked for fear of losing it, as the mouse unhooked the feather free of the golden ring, and ran off. "My feather! Come back with that you rat! Erebus, we must get my feather!"

He awoke with nothing more than a yawn and stretched," You have more feathers on your wings angel," his tone was laced with morning sleepiness, as he looked at her with heavy lids. For the moment he was clueless, but as soon as she was gone and he caught sight of the end of her tail, it dawned on him. Erebus gave himself a mental slap in the face then took off after her. Maybe after they had retrieved her feather, he'd take her to his favorite swimming area.

Sara stood not a second more and gave a Hmph! as she charged out the entrance in an irritated manner. "You stupid rat, where did you get to?" She mummbled under her breath, searching through bushes, before stopping in front of a giant old oak tree. "Erebus where do you think a rat would hide?" Sara asked as he came up alongside her; she could smell the mouse's scent and knew it was close. The dark aura that surrounded the peacock feather emanated and left a trail among the air, only visible to her eyes.

"I don't know . . . exactly," he gave her a look as she eyed him. Like he was really suppose to know? "I'm going to give a wild guess and say in the oak tree, there's a small hole in the trunk at the bottom. It could've possibly gone there," he shrugged his shoulders and gave her a nonchalant glance. "There's no way to get in, the hole's too small."

Sara grinned and looked up. About twenty feet above them, there was a hole big enough for a lion to crawl through without any complaint. She flapped her wings and took hold of Erebus, lifting him and herself up into the air and through the hole. Once inside, she sniffed around trying to catch the scent again and found the mouse to be underneath them. It was abnormal, the inside of this oak. There were stairs carved into the wood, and it seemed there were quite a few rooms too. Possible guest rooms? She couldn't tell nor did she care. Sara walked around and sniffed through all of the different scents to find this was the home of another dragon. It didn't seem they were home, so she saw no harm in tearing the place apart to find her feather. "A little choas will help me find that rat quicker," Sara's eyes glowed brightly, the flaming gold flaring like fire with enjoyment.
"Sarakiel, be good," she heard her brother's resonating voice in her head and blocked his words out of her mind.

Erebus gave a surprised gasp as he was lifted off of the ground. He clasped his eyes shut tight for a moment, but snapped them back open, as he found he liked the feeling of being in the air. As he entered the oak, he found the same scene as Sara. Erebus landed on the ground softly and without noise and followed his Fallen. When he saw her expression, he found her smile before she was going to be bad, quite beautiful. But still, he preffered her smiles when they were genuine and loving like just before they went to sleep. He knew she couldn't see why he stayed, he figured she thought it was only because of the help each needed, but Erebus knew better and he wished she'd catch on. "It would make it quicker, but what happens if in the mist of all of the fun your feather is destroyed? I think it'd be better if we do a quick search," Erebus too caught the scent of the owner's home and recognized it to be of a local dragoness he knew as an acquaintance, Giselle.

Seraphina was going to argue when, but let her crude comment slip away. Perhaps he was right. She looked at him with warm eyes and for a moment, some kindness shone through her for maybe the twentieth time since he'd been with her. Sara found herself slowly smiling more often, but it was only when she was with him. "Okay, I can see your point. But where do you suggest we start looking?" she said it all in a slight irritated tone, even if she wasn't annoyed anymore.

Erebus sighed. She was easily readable to him by now, he could tell the irritation was nothing more than the aftermath of her stress. He felt such happiness when he was with her, and had come to love her even. Sara was the one he'd been waiting for since he'd gotten a body of flesh and blood of his own; no more madness or anger as he had felt before when he was around others or by himself. He didn't have to try and use a mask of charm or kindness, it came naturally and easily now. Shrugging, he passed by her brushing up against her and leading the way to the bottom of the oak house. "I'm guessing possibly down below, it can't have gotten far angel," to him she was his Angel. His Fallen.

Angel. He was the only one alive who was allowed to call her that, but she'd grown fond of the nickname, especially when he used it. As he brushed up against her, Sara shivered from the tingles that ran through her body. She swore they were somehow connected by body and mind. He'd drank her blood almost every night, but it never occurred to her until now that the blood may have linked them together. Most of the time, she knew what he was feeling and rarely could read his mind; see into his thoughts and feelings. Erebus loved her, she knew it. But she was afraid to love him back. She didn't want to hurt him, nor chain him to her forever. Sara wasn't ready for that kind of commitment. "My love, you're always right," Sara's eyes glowed as she spoke and her tone was loving. Following after him, she caught up and walked by Erebus' side. Managing to catch him, Sara nuzzled then licked his cheek, before padding ahead of him. She at least tried to show him he held a place in her dark heart.

Erebus was taken by surprise when she nuzzled him, and felt his heart flutter. "Umm, oh! I know! Let's check in here," he suggested finding what looked to be a kitchen/cooking area.

Sara nodded and followed him. Entering the medium-sized area, she found it to be homely and cozy. Usually she hated such things, but the change in the atmosphere felt good. In her mind and heart, Sara felt a sort of yearning for a home such as this. She could take it. Either by force or . . . really she'd rather use force. With him it felt oddly right to be there. A place they could make a home of their own in. "Sara, watch it," her brother's resonating voice echoed coolly in her head. He couldn't possibly warn her and figure she'd be good, but it seemed her brother and Erebus shared the same thought, as the dragon eyed her with a close watch. "I'm not going to do anything wrong. I proooomise," Sara said drawling out the last word. She'd stick to her promise, but only for Erebus, her brother could kick the curb for all she cared.

Erebus watched her and smiled giving a low, throaty chuckle. "You look there," he indicated to a small corner between what looked to be a fireplace or possible stove of some sort, and a counter made of black granite. "I'll search here," Erebus then went to work looking behind things and in every possible corner he could find. Where a shadow was cast, he made sure to do a quick sweep. Eventually he picked up on a faint trail of dark energy. Erebus noted the similarities between the aura trail and Sara. He still wondered what was so important about the feather as well and found himself asking before he could stop his mouth, "What's incredibly important about that feather anyways?"

Her eyes grew very grim and dark. Sara's features changed altogether turning eerily sorrowful. "It's apart of my being a Fallen, it reminds me every day of why I'm stuck here and why I hate them so much," she looked around in the corners as she explained. "You can't possibly know the feeling of being exiled and chained. It also holds apart of my power. Each small accessory upon my body holds a good amount of my power and without having each one, it makes me feel weak. . . I don't like the feeling. Like an annoying itch that won't stop," Sara's eyes lit up as she grinned and snatched something up. "There you are you rat! There's my feather too!" She let the mouse go, as it scurried away and attached the feather back in place on the tiny gold ring.

Erebus listened and felt a thread of dread wash over him. As quickly as it had come, the atmosphere changed. The dread was lifted and in its place was happiness, or a form of it. Perhaps something along the lines of victory, Erebus guessed and smiled along with her. There wasn't any tension only a feeling of AH-HA! I've got you! "Well since that's solved, let's go swimming!" Erebus grinned and trotted out the nearest entrance, knowing she'd be right behind him. "I've got the perfect swimming spot!"

Sara shimmied up to him and smiled genuinely, "I haven't had a good swim in ages. It might do us -- or uh, me some good," she took up a position alongside him and followed in silence. Us? Was she really ready to commit to only him? Sara pushed aside the thought and only thought about the moments she'd spend with him. Live in the moments, not the past, is what her mother used to say.
