 Swiftwind made his way back to the pond where he was to meet Starlite. Each had gone their own way for a bit to catch up with old friends. And while it was nice to have to time to be alone and see those he hadn't seen in some time he couldn't help but miss Starlite when she was gone. She should be here soon, he thought as he reached the pond. Bending his head he took a few gulps of water to slake his thirst. The pond was clear, allowing his to see all the way to the bottom. A few fish swam around some aquatic plants at the bottom of the water. Lily pads dotted the far side of the lake, and upon them sat small frogs who crocked a greeting to each other. He rose his head for a minute to look around, then lowered it again to take another drink.

 Starlite had flown in a wide loop around the pond upon her arrival,eyes peering downwards for the tell tale sign of Swiftwind below - she didn't have to look too hard his colorful wings and unique armor would have made him stand out even in a herd of Nequus, as it was he was the only one there and Starlite, in a somewhat whimsical and impish mood decided to have a bit of fun.
Swinging about to come in for a landing she lined it up so that she would do so in the water...right in front of Swiftwind and tucking her wings up against her body to pick up speed she dove for the ground, using one final down swoop of her wings to arrest the motion at the very last second and land with a skip and a hop and a rather large splash right in front of her Ivory companion. "Did you miss me?" She asked him through the spraying water.

Swiftwind's head moved up slightly as he watched the shadow move across the lake. He didn't need to look up to know that it was Starlite. He raised his head up as he watched her gracefully land in front of him, a smile on his maw. "Of course I missed you." He said as he took a step towards her. "But most importantly did you miss me?"
The water splashed up on his legs and he gave her a playful look. "You're such a troublemaker." He told her jokingly, pawing at the water a bit causing small waves to ripple out towards her.

"yes, well I have to keep you on your toes" She told him as the wave he caused in return to her own splash smacked against her legs "Can't have you getting all unobservant and lax on me" she teased him before stepping forward herself and bumping him lightly on the shoulder with her muzzle "Of course I missed you" she told him before moving to stand on the shore and flicking her tail to wring the excess water from it.
"Did you have any interesting encounters hile I was away?" She questioned out of curiosity, they had only been apart for a couple of days - but you could never tell when something interesting might come up and Starlite was interested to know what he'd been up to.

The gentle touch on his shoulder made Swiftwind's heart skip a beat. "I assure you I am still quite observant." He said as he turned and followed her out of the pond. He came to a stop beside her, looking up at the sun for a minute while recalling what he did in her absence.
"Well lets see here." He started. "I did meet this interesting Ischa mare during a rain storm the other day. We had a good talk and then her friends came along, so she left." He turned his gaze to her and like every time he looked her way was taken aback by her beauty. "But talking with her only reminded me how much I missed you." He continued and leaned forward nuzzling her softly.

Starlite pricked her ears forward as Swiftwind began to recount his adventures while they had been separated, an Ischa mare? Some mares might become a bit jealous at this information..Ischa's were quite dainty after all and Starlite knew many Jala who fancied them and their lacey little wings over their fellow Jala, but Starlite was not prone to jealous fits..and of course even if she had been Swiftwinds words a few moments later all would have taken care of them.
"Oh what did the two of you talk about?" she asked in a cheery tone, it seemed they had both met some interesting characters during their time apart.

He lifted his head a bit. "Mainly how it is silly to hide from the rain. So many Nequus were huddled under trees trying to keep dry. It's not like you can control the rain, so why try to hide from it." He paused for a moment before continuing. "Only other thing we talked about was some other crazy stories passed down by the Elders." He looked into her eyes. "Although I did mention to her that I was traveling with this beautiful Jala mare, who had a rainbow mane and tail. You wouldn't happen to know this mare would you? We got separated a few days ago." He tried his best to hold in a chuckle.
"And what adventures did you have in my absence?" He asked after his chuckling stopped. "I hope you weren't rescuing any poor creatures without me."

Starlite snorted in amusement, she'd seen similar activites by Nequus when it snowed..it seemed some just didn't like to be out and about unless the sun was shining, which put a bit of a dent in the days you were able to do things in the fall,winter and spring hen the weather was often less then perfect. She wasn't however sure exactly what crazy stories he was talking about - Starlite didn't spend much time with elders - their advice was often a bit dated to her mind and well..they were dull.
"did you now?" she asked him with a twinkle in her eye "Well that must be just terrible I'm sure you are worried sick over her safety" she teased him before getting an impish look in her eye "I might know where she is, the question is what are you prepared to give up to get the info hmm?" she taunted him before tossing her forelock out of her eyes with a flip of her head.
"Well lemme see, I spoke with a Bae mare about family and siblings for a time, she seemed nice enough but had to hurry off to find her trouble making sister."

Swiftwind bobbed his head. "Indeed I am worried sick about her. Who knows what could happen to her without me around. Why she could get her tail tangled around a bush and not be able to fly or worse." He said with a smile on his maw. "I would do just about anything to get the information needed to find her."
His tail flicked about a bit. "A trouble making sister huh? Well I can't say I know anything about that, but I do know the pain of a trouble making sibling."

"A painful condition to be sure" Starlite agreed with a mock look of horror on her face as she referenced his 'tangled tail' worry "Thankfully for you I happen to know that this mare you speak of is far to smart to succumb to such a thing" She continued with an arched brow and false haughty look. Tail tangled in a bush...what a silly dilemma to come up with she thought to herself with an inward chuckle.
"Brother's I take it?" She asked him as he continued on, they hadn't had much time to discuss thier families as of yet - not because they were avoiding so much as it just hadn't come up yet.

Swiftwind mocked a sigh of relief. "Oh, I'm so glad she can outsmart a bush from catching her so." He shook his head to move his forelock out of his eye. "And you know where my smart, beautiful friend is now?" He asked as shifted his weight around while looking at her.
"One brother, yes." He told Starlite. "There was another but he died some time ago." He found it odd how he hadn't spoke of his family to Starlite before, but they both had been so busy that they just never brought it up. Well now was as good of any time to talk about such thing. "What of you? Any siblings?"

such flattering words Starlite thought to herself...why she would blush if Nequus were equipped to do so, as it was she merely smiled to herself and ducked her head to hide her embarrassment for a moment before answering him "I think good sir that she should be arriving at any moment...she seems quite eager to find her handsome bemasked friend, why she might even be here already!" She exclaimed in a mysterious voice.
"I'm afraid I was an only foal" Starlite answered him, she was rather sad to hear he had a brother whom had passed, she was curious as to how..but it seemed a bit callous to just ask out of the blue. "I'm not even sure where my parents have gotten to to be honest...we lost touch several years ago"

Swiftwind's ears perked up a bit and he stamped his foot. "She might be here already?" He said with a cheery tone, spinning around to look behind him. "Well I don't see her." He said and then slowly turned around to face Starlite again. Then his face lit up. "Ah there she is!" He exclaimed as he met her eyes again. "As beautiful as I remember her to be." He took a step closer to her.
An only foal and having lost touch with her parents, my how sad. "I have not spoken to my family in some time." He told her softly. "Perhaps one day we can look for your parents. I should like to meet the ones who brought such a lovely Nequus into the world."

Starlite had to laugh a little at Swiftwinds antics, while he spun about looking for her - despite the fact they'd been talking for several minutes now, he was such a character sometimes but that as part o the reason Starlite liked him - what was the point of spending all your time with someone ho was serious and broody at every turn, sure it always sounded nice in the romantic stories...but she'd found it never really played out well in real life. No...Starlite much preferred the fun type to the broody ones. "Your sweet" she told him with a slight bump of her muzzle on his neck.
"Maybe sometime" She responded "Though I don't hold out much hope - they were always somewhat of a whimsical couple" she told him 'Prone to wandering wherever their hooves carried them, we would probably have more luck tracking down your family"

He rested his head gently on top of her neck and let out a happy sigh. "Am I?" He asked her. "Funny I don't try to be." Rubbing his cheek gently along her neck.
"One day we will find them." He told her referring to her parents. "Urin is only so big after all. As for my family, yes they would be easy to track down. I'll take you to see them some day."
